We had an inspiration video that we wanted Dr VFX to use as inspiration for a branded 3D video featuring our DIY mini split heat pump. We created a storyboard, provided Andrew with reference images of the style of rooms & characters we would like, and he started building. He sourced the character assets and created the environments. He animated each scene as requested and created animated transitions from each scene to the next. For deliverables, we requested an alpha channel version of the video and then later requested a version without shadows. Andrew provided us both versions!

Dr. VFX provided a quality product quickly.  The team listened to what we needed and provided the video content very quickly and accurately.  The video graphics were great and we received a lot of positive feedback from customers.

They always delivered what we needed on time and were very responsive to any change requests we have. Their team worked hard to understand and provide what we needed.

Dr-VFX was a pleasure to work with. They have helped us with numerous projects to-date, helping to re-create beautiful product animations for our various products. The animations they create from our original 3D files are always well received; we repurpose them to add dramatic effect for explainer videos, stomp videos and product reveals.

Dr-VFX constantly hit deadlines and met the satisfaction of our stakeholders throughout various projects. Internally within our company, their 3D animations have sparked an interest for more of their content to showcase our line of products. They effectively communicated and collaborated with our team, as well as had the creative problem-solving skills to overcome any challenges encountered during the projects.

Their delivery items were always on time, and despite a difference in time zones, they were very responsive. They responded to our needs through their strong demo reel and technical skills in 3D modeling, texturing, animation and rendering software. We also required someone to be adaptable because of the time zones, and their flexibility to work within various project constraints, such as timeline and artistic direction changes is what makes us continue to work with them.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The quality of work is outstanding. They really know how to satisfy our stakeholders; it can be tough with a room full of engineers approving the video, but they (Andrew particularly) always take it in stride and make the correct changes. We've developed a workflow together that has improved our communication, but it will only get better moving forward!

Nothing, everything was perfect!

Andrew was tasked with creating a 30 second 3D animated product video which explained how TuffBlock, a composite deck block, worked. Andrew had to build deck constructions in 3D and animate the product with high quality renders to show off the design. The video was made for Facebook Ads, as well as YouTube and other platforms.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We got above a 4% click-through rate on Facebook Ads with many sales driven from this video. The video also produced over 30,000 views on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube shorts. 

This will continue to rise over time. Not only that, but we re-use the assets for other projects such as our sponsorship of a sports team for LED banners. We also re-used the animated build elements, and the 3d renders for product stills on the website. It's definitely something that can be utilised again and again.

Excellent communication skills. Andrew took meetings at crazy hours in order to be able to meet with my schedule (sometimes at 1am his time!) The deadline for this project was extremely tight, and he delivered everything with clear communication. Andrew is very easy to work with. If you're looking for a reliable 3D animator then look no further!

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The quality of the renders was top-notch. They were clean, crisp and high resolution. Zero noise at all.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Dr-VFX could have done differently?

Under the timeframe it's hard to ask for much more. My only suggestion would be double checking technical aspects of the niche. Sometimes things needed clarification after a revision, but this is very harsh considering you're learning a whole niche in under a week! It took me 6 months to learn about deck building properly.
