We have been working with dotGrow since July 2020 across a wide range of digital projects, and the relationship has developed significantly over that time. The work has included the design, development and ongoing improvement of several websites, including substantial redevelopment and continuous work on jakesmolarek.com, as well as websites for other businesses and projects we are involved in. Over the years, dotGrow has supported us with web development, technical improvements, integrations, website optimisation, troubleshooting, technical SEO, automation and ongoing consultancy. The team has also helped us improve our wider digital ecosystem, including online visibility, digital strategy and, more recently, projects focused on AI visibility and LLM-related search. The scope of the engagement has gone well beyond individual website builds. dotGrow has provided ongoing maintenance and development, custom technical solutions, support with integrations and automation, and technical input across SEO, AI visibility and other digital initiatives. They have also worked on projects for other businesses and clients we have introduced to them. After more than six years of working together, we see dotGrow as a long-term technology and digital growth partner rather than simply a web development provider. The engagement continues to evolve as our businesses and digital requirements develop.

Over the course of our work with dotGrow, we have seen clear improvements across several measurable areas. Our search visibility has increased substantially, including growth in Google Search Console impressions and organic visibility, while the websites themselves have become significantly stronger from both a technical and conversion perspective. The work has also contributed to improved user experience, better conversion performance and increased enquiries and sales over time. On jakesmolarek.com in particular, the combination of our SEO and content strategy with dotGrow’s technical development, implementation and ongoing optimisation has helped us build a much stronger digital presence than we had when the engagement began. The improvements have not been limited to traffic. The websites are faster, more robust, easier to develop and better structured for SEO, conversion optimisation and, more recently, AI and LLM visibility. We have also been able to implement new ideas and technical changes much faster because dotGrow understands both the technology and the commercial objective behind the work.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

dotGrow has always been very responsive and easy to work with. Communication has been direct, clear and practical, and over the years they have consistently adapted to changing priorities, new ideas and different project requirements. One of the things I value most is that they do not approach projects purely from a technical perspective. They take the time to understand the commercial objective behind the work, which makes communication and decision-making much easier. Across a long-term relationship involving multiple projects, they have been reliable with delivery, quick to respond when something needed attention and flexible when priorities changed. If an issue came up, it was addressed quickly and without unnecessary back-and-forth. Because we have worked together for more than six years, the relationship has developed into a very efficient way of working. The team understands how we operate, what standards we expect and how quickly we sometimes need to move, which makes them a dependable long-term partner rather than simply an external supplier.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What stands out most about dotGrow is their ability to make complex technology understandable and practical from a business perspective. I have worked with developers and technical teams in the past where communication could become unnecessarily complicated very quickly. With dotGrow, that has never been an issue. Daniel, who leads the company, is particularly good at translating technical concepts into clear, straightforward language. You understand what is being proposed, why it matters, what the options are and what the commercial implications are. For a business owner, that makes a huge difference. They are also very strong when it comes to communication, speed and quality of delivery. If they commit to something, they take responsibility for delivering it properly. Even when a project turns out to be more complicated than initially expected, they do not start looking for excuses or trying to shift responsibility. They focus on finding a solution and getting the job finished to the right standard. Over more than six years of working together, there have naturally been situations where priorities changed or unexpected issues came up. What I value is that everything can be discussed openly. Problems are dealt with through conversation, sensible decision-making and finding a practical way forward. That combination of technical expertise, commercial understanding, reliability and the ability to communicate clearly with non-technical business owners is what I find most valuable about working with dotGrow.

Are there any areas for improvement or something dotGrow could have done differently?

At this stage, there is nothing significant I would change. Over more than six years of working together, dotGrow has consistently delivered what we needed and has been responsive whenever priorities, requirements or challenges changed. As with any long-term working relationship, there are always small things that can be refined along the way, but we have never had any major concerns with the quality of the work, communication or delivery.
