World Textile Information Network (WTiN) is an information provider, delivering unmatched intelligence and insight into the global textile manufacturing industry. I am Head of Content & Technology at WTiN.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Digitally Media, and what were your goals?

We have worked with Digitally Media for many years. However, the project we are specifically referencing here was to provide a full (2 week) virtual trade show via a newly developed platform.

SOLUTION

How did you select Digitally Media and what were the deciding factors?

We have a longstanding working relationship with Digitally Media, so we were unlikely to look elsewhere. We knew from experience that they would be able to develop this involved and time-sensitive project as needed.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

In order to deliver our virtual trade show (October 2020) we made the decision to develop the platform from ground-up, as no off-the-peg solution was offering the functionality that we required. As a result Digitally Media worked with us from conception, design and SAS integration selection through to final delivery and live suppoty.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Primarily three people. The founder, lead developer and web designer.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our key measurable outcome was the feedback received from our paying exhibitors. All were unilaterally impressed with the platform and particularly what was achieved in the timeframe available. Overall the virtual event was considered a success by the vast majority of stakeholders.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.

We primarily used Trello as a project management tool. Digitally Media were always exceptionally responsive to questions, challenges and alterations to scope and specification. The project style was very much one of working closely with us as the project and platform developed.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Unquestionably their ability to respond quickly, efficiently grasp our requirement(s) and to provide practice solutions and help where challenges were encountered.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Digitally Media truly were faultless. We will repeat the virtual trade show again in 2021 with more customers, newly developed platform features and crucially more time to plan and develop. We look forward to working with them on the second iteration of the project.
