I'm the CEO of CODE Hospitality, a membership platform that rewards hospitality professionals with exclusive discounts, offers, events, and experiences.

We needed support to build and maintain our app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Dev Craft has built and maintained the CODE app previously on a project basis. Twelve months ago, we moved to a BOT contract to accelerate and increase the scope of our development. Now, we have a dedicated development team of two engineers and one QA employed through Dev Craft. We're considering consolidating our tech stack, bringing our other business, Good Food Guide, under the same arrangement, and growing our engineering team.
Our recent focus has been on rebuilding the CODE app in a new language to fuel growth and facilitate continuous improvement, with full ownership and management of subscriptions. Looking ahead, we're continuing to make the CODE app better while bringing in-house and building out more of our operations, including the careers board, B2B portal, and website.

Our member revenue is up 18% YoY, and our paid members are up 5% YTD. Additionally, we've seen an 84% productivity uplift per developer through AI-assisted development, which we measure through stories completed.

As an IT sourcing partner for a major Nordic airline company, we needed high-caliber software engineering talent to support our client's loyalty program renewal. • Technical Product Owner & Lead Software Engineer: Initially stepped in as a Technical Product Owner ato organize processes, analyze technical requirements, and streamline stakeholder communication. As dedicated product manager joined, he transitioned into the Lead Software Engineer role, driving technical excellence and enhancing clients’ workflows and processes.
• Senior Fullstack Developer: Joined as a long-term core team member focusing on end-to-end fullstack development, consistent feature delivery, and proactive problem-solving.

Our work with Dev Craft has covered several projects over the years. The scope has included building new digital products from scratch, rebuilding and improving existing software, and developing applications that integrate with physical hardware and third-party systems. Their responsibilities have covered technical planning and architecture, front-end and back-end development, integrations, testing, deployment, and ongoing improvements after launch. The main deliverables included production-ready web applications, administration tools, hardware and API integrations, and the modernization of existing platforms.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Since this review covers several engagements, the outcomes varied by project. Dev Craft successfully delivered multiple production-ready products, completed the rebuild of an existing platform, and launched a working solution that connected software with physical hardware. The systems were deployed and used in real operating environments, and the quality of the results led us to continue working with the team across new projects over several years.

Their project management has been clear and practical. They break the work into manageable stages, communicate progress regularly, and raise questions or risks early. Deliverables were generally completed within the agreed timelines, and when requirements or priorities changed, they adapted quickly and were transparent about the impact. What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What stands out most is their sense of ownership. They don’t just complete tickets and move on. They try to understand the business problem, question requirements when they see a better approach, and care whether the final product actually works for the people using it. That combination of technical ability and practical product thinking is difficult to find.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Dev Craft could have done differently?

On some of the larger projects, more structured documentation of technical decisions and changes along the way would have made handovers easier. That said, communication was always open, and any issues were addressed quickly when raised.
