We’re a supplier of sounds, lightings, and other similar equipment. Our company also has a video department.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with designedly?

designedly built our website using WordPress, and they provided branding services as well.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They developed our website, where they built an online contract and payment portal. We wanted to get more traffic and conversions through it. In the engagement, we were initially given options that we didn’t like, so we ended up building the site from scratch. Then, they redesigned the logo of the website. It took about two weeks to finish the project. 

What is the team composition?

We worked with four people from designedly. We had a project manager, two web developers, and one designer. 

How did you come to work with designedly?

We wanted to keep the money within the local economy, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since designedly was a local company, we chose them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent €6,000 (approximately $7,000 USD). Meanwhile, the full branding service cost €8,000 (approximately $9,400 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked on this project with them from December 2020–January 2021. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’re happy with the website, and it has been praised since it went live. designedly used plugins to give us what we wanted. We haven’t been hitting our traffic and conversion goals, but that was because we only recently started marketing. 

How did designedly perform from a project management standpoint?

In terms of project management, they performed very poorly. We communicated via email, and their communication at times was quite poor — they didn’t tend to listen to us as a client. 

On top of that, they gave deadlines that were unrealistic, which they also didn't fulfill. They did make it to our final deadline, but the site functionality that we wanted wasn’t there at first. That being said, I believe we were caught in the middle of a transition period, where their main web developer left right at the end of the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Our initial contact and their logo redesign were quite good. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Going forward, it’s better for them to open up a communication channel where everything can be documented within one messaging service, such as Slack. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give them a call. designedly provides top-notch services when it comes to logo and branding — they do lovely and excellent designs. However, larger projects such as web development aren’t their main line of service. It’s only their secondary or tertiary service.
