What challenge were you trying to address with Dansa D'Arata Soucia LLP?

When I was opening my practice, one of the first people I consulted was my personal accountant, Dansa D’Arata Soucia to help guide me through the financial side of the business.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Dansa D’Arata Soucia supported me through the preparation of opening the practice. They’ve helped with financial assessments, preparing my bank application, and more. After we opened, they provided assistance through their bookkeeper and other resources in all aspects of running my business. They taught me how to use QuickBooks and provide ongoing services as needed.

I’ve also used D’Arata’s services personally, through tax preparation and certain major financial moves.

What is the team composition?

D’Arata (Partner) is my accountant and advisor, but I meet with other members of the team as well. Mary (Tax Manager) is my main tax consultant, and Dolores (Bookkeeper) is my point of contact for bookkeeping matters.

How did you come to work with Dansa D'Arata Soucia LLP?

They were referred to me by my business partner, who is also my brother. They were used by several of my friends and family members, so I decided to work with them as well. 

What is the status of this engagement?

I’ve been partnering with them since January 1994.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Their services have definitely saved a lot of time, money, and hassle in both my personal and professional life. They’re excellent advisors in terms of income and spending, helping me minimize tax consequences. I’ve been audited twice, and each time Dansa D’Arata Soucia represented me well.

How did Dansa D'Arata Soucia LLP perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been excellent. If I need to get hold of them I know that I can, usually within 24 hours. Their response has always been prompt and professional.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The personal attention they provide is the most noteworthy aspect of their services. With Dansa D’Arata Soucia, I’ve never felt like just another client.

Are there any areas they could improve?

At the beginning of our partnership, I usually had a different person doing my taxes each year, so I never knew who to contact. The past few years, though, I’ve gone to the same person, which I like a lot more.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Ask to have one contact with them, and always have your paperwork ready. They’ll provide you with a list, and if you follow it, you’ll receive great, prompt service.
