What challenge were you trying to address with ConvrtX?

I hired Convrtx for this specific project as I required a new website with new hosting.

What was the scope of their involvement?

As an update to the previous statement of their scope – after a year, things got very tense after I left negative reviews. We eventually came to an agreement to allow ConvrtX to deliver the products. Over the last 6 months the have delivered a website of very poor quality. Their project manager was the person I had most involvement with.

He was very helpful at times, but it appears his hands were tied on a lot of the fixes required due to the CEO dictating what he was and wasn’t allowed to do. My last contact with the CEO was him suggesting I update my previous Clutch review to 5 star despite being aware that the website is in a dire, unusable state.

What is the team dynamic?

My impression is that it is poor. High turnover of staff, and it appears to me that the CEO micromanages them and overworks them. Their project manager often appeared stressed to me, or frustrated at what he was being told to tell me. From an outsiders perspective, I would say that the team are working under unreasonable pressure and cannot complete their duties due to the CEO.

How did you come to work with ConvrtX?

I found them through Bark.com initially when looking for an app development – I will post my review of the app shortly. I commissioned the website once I had already booked them for the app.

How much have you invested with them?

Over £30,000 in total, but only £5,000 of this relates to the website project.

What is the status of this engagement?

I am no longer in contact with ConvrtX after their CEO asked me to post a 5 star update review on Clutch despite the website being in an awful state. I cannot work with a company who continuously asks me to post false reviews.

How did your relationship with the vendor evolve?

It hugely deteriorated from July 2022. From April 2021 (when I very first reached out), to around probably January 2022, I was impressed by their pitches, plans, and talks. Now it feels like that is all it ever was. I started getting more frustrated as time went on from January 2022, before getting into very tense talks with them in July/August 2022.

I did give them some time to fix things after August 2022 and things were a bit tense, but were looking hopeful until they delivered me an incomplete website. I kept hanging on hoping things would be fixed, until January 2023 when I was asked to post a false 5 star review with the promise that they would support me with any fixes. I have since cut ties with them.

How did ConvrtX address the challenges that arose?

By providing false promises, unmet deadlines, issuing cease and desists when factual negative reviews are issues, and promising to deliver amazing products but never actually fulfilling such promises.

Describe the impact this engagement has had on your business.

I experienced significant losses due to both the money spent on these projects, along with losses from having to close down orders in July whilst my website was down.

How was project management handled?

The project manager seemed friendly and was the only one I felt like I could speak to. He appeared to be trying his best under difficult conditions, which falls squarely on the CEO.

Is there anything that the vendor did well or that you would consider a strength?

They did assist with server transfers, but overall I would say there was nothing done particularly well. Certainly nothing that negates what they did poorly.

In what specific areas can they improve?

Replace the CEO, and actually start delivering functional and impressive products to clients. The could also improve on their customer service skills by not reporting and removing every negative review they get on review platforms, and actually address their multiple disgruntled clients grievances.

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?

Stay away from ConvrtX.

I selected Convrtx as they were completing work on another project for me - an app. They had given me a 4-8 week deadline for completion of the website and advised they could provide me an excellent quality website on a secure high quality server.

Honestly, there isn't much I can provide here. It's been 12 months and I still have no finished project. What was supposed to be a 4-8 week project has extended to over a year with very little explanation given as to why, despite my regular requests for updates.

I am unsure due to the large amount of staff I have spoken to.

I still have no website. I am now told it will be ready in August 2022. I would not return to Convrtx for further projects following this.

Project management is very poor. Updates are lacking, misinformation regularly given, deadlines not adhered to, and overall poor communication.

I am currently unimpressed by Convrtx overall.

Communication, project management, and sticking to deadlines.

We brought them on for mobile app development services.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The mobile app is a platform that connects painters to other painters and is the very first escrow app for the trades industry. Some key features include a network where trades and painters can comment, like, and post photos of their work as well as react to photos and job postings from their area. It’s all done by postal code so it’s one of the first networks to ever do that.

Other key features are hiring and finding workers within the app. There’s also a networking feature where users are automatically connected to people and locals in their area that meet their budget skill requirements and scope of the project a user is looking to hire for. The app will be on both Android and iOS.

The ConvrtX team also helped me with my business plan and pitch deck. They provided guidance on some legal documents, privacy policy, and legal agreements. They even connected me with legal counsel that could help me write up shareholders' agreements and other things of that nature.

What is the team composition?

I work with Josh (Managing Partner & Head Architect), David (Senior Business Strategist), and a number of their developers and UI/UX designers.

How did you come to work with ConvrtX?

I found ConvrtX on Bark. I chose them because of Josh, he showed a lot of empathy and integrity on the phone. He was someone who was young, professional, and experienced. I’m young as well, quite experienced, and professional. I didn’t want to work with someone who I felt I had to talk up to.

It was comforting to know that Josh respected me on the same level even though he is the CEO of a well-known and established company. The respect factor really made the decision easy.

How much have you invested with them?

I’ve invested around $40,000 CAD (approximately $30,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement started in July 2020. We’re looking to launch the apps in January 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I love the way the app looks and functions; it’s perfect. It took a lot of changes and adjustments to get it to where it needs to be. Obviously, we need to do some minor tweaks and grammar changes before the full launch.

We received a thousand pre-sign-ups in the first seven days of the application. That really speaks to the potential success of the application. It shows how well they designed the landing page and guide me along the prelaunch process. The whole experience of working with ConvrtX has been excellent.

They’ve been there every step of the way. I’ve called them at 2:00 a.m. and they always picked up the phone. They’ve answered all of my questions the right way and have made me feel comfortable in choosing to spend a good amount of money with them. I feel successful before my app has even launched.

How did ConvrtX perform from a project management standpoint?

It’s been great working with ConvrtX; they’ve been amazing. The organization has been extremely well done; everything is presented on time. We communicate through emails and Slack.

They’ve exceeded my expectations by going above and beyond to meet deadlines and do what I ask. I’ve been impressed by their standard, and they’ve done an exceptional job.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality of their work is impeccable. If I had to describe ConvrtX in one word, I’d say quality. Everything I’ve asked, from logo design or web matters, they came back with something that blew me away every time. I was never disappointed or shocked to see something that didn’t meet what I was hoping for.

I’m also impressed with their experience and knowledge. Sometimes, I ran into problems in the design and building of the UI, and it was comfortable to know I was speaking with people who are legitimate professionals.

Are there any areas they could improve?

If they had some sort of software where I could monitor the project as it’s going along, that’s something I’d like to see. This would allow me to see the small little timelines of how things are going. This isn’t much of a needed improvement, but rather something that’d be to their advantage.

Have consistent communication and don’t be afraid to ask questions.

Our engagement started with us talking about my vision. After that, we created a business plan. Now, we’re in the app development stage.

Along with Josh, I’ve worked with someone on the business plan and someone on the legal side. I also worked with someone on the design side.

How did you come to work with ConvrtX?

I discovered them on a site that helps users find software developers. I had actually deleted my profile, but Josh still reached out. We scheduled a follow-up from there. I really liked that he wasn’t extremely persistent with me. That transparency attracted me to the firm.

I expect to spend around $150,000.

We started working together in June 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’m at the funding stage for development. I’ve had no complaints – they’re completely professional and caring. Josh has even been helpful to me personally by teaching me business and how to conduct certain things.

How did ConvrtX perform from a project management standpoint?

We correspond between Slack, email, and FaceTime. We keep each other accountable for deadlines. We also have regular meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m big on being a people’s person. At the start, I only knew what I wanted to do. What I love about Josh is that he is smart but not condescending. He enjoys teaching others. His personality is just refreshing to be around.

No, any challenges have been on me.

Don’t second guess working with them. It will change your life. Josh’s energy is contagious and makes you want to work. Not too many people can foster an environment like that.

Working with this company has been a nightmare, I highly recommend doing your research on the CEO Josh Adler before deciding to work with this company. Our application was supposed to be completed within 6 months, they didn’t even start it until 3 months in. It has now been over a year and our project is still incomplete, poorly developed with so many issues, and has yet to go live. ConvrtX refused to hand over products paid for in full.

I have been nothing but disappointed in the way that Covrtx performs their business. I am currently in a full refund claim with them as they have provided nothing to me. They have collected the money and provide simple mock ups to keep me believing the app will be completed BUT when it was time to test the app there was nothing even close to a testable version of what i asked for.

my advise is to NOT use this company and I base this on the horrible service I have been given - you may also want to look up this company as there is a lot of information on the web about this type of thing happening to multiple people. I would assume that all the positive reviews are possibly not real customers.

its been 3 years now and I still have nothing - I can show anyone who would like to see the emails and conversations with them and now their lawyer all giving me the run around and just postponing over and over. the person who is in charge of my app has told me that what I paid for can not even be done and its now on "hold".

The design work of the logo, business plan and pitch deck were excellent. They failed to deliver crowdfund work, which I paid for, unless I purchased further services that were not previously discussed.
