I’m the CTO of a nonprofit organization that has built a hiring database for a specific industry.

What challenge were you trying to address with ContinuumInnovations Inc?

We were rewriting our application, and we needed DevOps support and expertise; we needed someone to come in and implement our new infrastructure. We’d had some challenges with our previous vendor, and we were on a tight deadline, so we brought in ContinuumInnovations to help get us to the finish line.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

ContinuumInnovations did DevOps work in AWS, setting up our infrastructure and server. Our engineers were very close to ready for our QA cycle, so ContinuumInnovations set up our dev environment and got our CI/CD pipeline set up so we could start doing QA and load testing. Then, they built and staged our production environment. The goal was to launch by the end of 2021, and the team supported that objective. 

We signed an additional support contract with them post-launch. ContinuumInnovation offers ongoing maintenance and 24/7 support. The team has also helped us with projects that come with development hours. For example, they set up a call rotation of our engineers. They’ve also helped us with our security assessment, and they did their own assessment using AWS GuardDuty.

Currently, the ContinuumInnovations team provides two mobile engineers who are helping us move our iOS and Android mobile apps to our new infrastructure. Next up, the team will be working on our single sign-on.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with six teammates from ContinuumInnovations across three separate contracts, including infrastructure engineers and mobile developers. I have one main point of contact. 

How did you come to work with ContinuumInnovations Inc?

I found them through an AWS service where we published our project, companies submitted bids on it, and I talked to several providers. I chose ContinuumInnovations because they were confident, and I felt like they could be a part of our team instead of quickly throwing things together. 

The team seemed like they wanted to work with us directly rather than accomplish small tasks. Plus, they were available to answer additional questions during the hiring process — I felt that ContinuumInnovations was invested in our project and would do a good job.

How much have you invested with them?

The first contract was for around $12,000. In total, we’ve spent about $30,000 so far, including the monthly support contract, the mobile contract, and the original infrastructure agreement.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in August 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I’m pleased with ContinuumInnovations’ services. With our previous provider, it would take us an hour to deploy code, and we had to take the site down, which is not the industry standard. After the work that ContinuumInnovations has done, our deployments are seamless, and we don’t even have to think about them. I really enjoy that our engineers can focus on their work, and I can focus on accelerating the team because deployments are no longer a challenge. 

Additionally, our support agreement has been great; we haven’t had any outages, and they’re always available any time we have issues. The team has also been instrumental in our security assessment, and they’ve even gone the extra mile in doing their own assessment. DevOps is a specialized skill, and I really appreciate having their expertise — I’ve had a wonderful experience with them.

How did ContinuumInnovations Inc perform from a project management standpoint?

The team delivers on time; they haven’t missed a deadline yet. Slack is our primary communication tool, and we use Jira for ticketing. We have a daily meeting with ContinuumInnovations. In our support agreement, they also provide a monthly report with all their work and what’s coming up the following month.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed with ContinuumInnovations’ seamless integration into our team. Even though our meetings are focused on engineering work, they’re always available to answer any questions. Sometimes they stick around to be a part of the conversation even when they could drop off the call — I really appreciate that.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there isn’t anything they need to improve. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They’re experts in what they do, so my advice is to give CiontinuumInnovations the space and support to do their best work.

I’m the president of a design and development company. We provide virtual streaming and virtual demonstration services for Fortune 500 companies. We also work on physical executive centers and experience centers.

What challenge were you trying to address with Continuum?

We were looking to implement an AWS workflow for our business. One of the main challenges was that we needed to deliver content to many devices from a live source through the AWS MediaStore.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Continuum helps us with a workflow setup on our AWS system. This allows us to input MediaLive, MediaPackage, and MediaStore content to a CDN cloud. They integrated the system into our website.

Delivering the content through the AWS MediaStore fell a little bit outside the traditional lines of their work because they were working on a new AWS service. However, they did the proper research to help us with that too.

What is the team composition?

I work with five people on this project.

How did you come to work with Continuum?

Continuum helped me with a problem I had on AWS IQ and solved it. From that moment, I decided to reach out to them for the next piece of business that I had.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in February 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Continuum is very quick to respond to our needs. We’ve had some issues that need to be solved quickly, and they’ve been able to do the proper research to solve them.

They were able to research the challenges presented by the AWS MediaStore system, figured out a solution, and they got us up and running in a very short period of time.

How did Continuum perform from a project management standpoint?

Continuum project management is very good. We communicate through Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Continuum has personalized service, a solid command of the English language, and a very responsive team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything they could improve — I’m very satisfied with them.

Feel free to provide them with as much detailed information as you can ahead of time, and set clear deadlines and expectations for the project.

We hired them to move our application to Amazon Web Services from our current server. They met with us and began communication with our development staff, moved our application to the new amazon server and set up the proper environments. All the while testing with our team that everything was working properly and fixing the things that were not on the new server.

I am the CEO of Streaming Television Inc, our company provides a timeslot for local community leaders to engage the local community through streaming tv devices, such as Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and mobile devices.

For what projects/services did your company hire ContinuumInnovations?

We needed to have a cloud computing system built to using the AWS MediaConvert platform to convert video files and store them on a Storage Gateway S3 bucket.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to have the video converted to a specif size and bitrate. Was needed the video to be placed in the S3 bucket with specific naming conventions.

SOLUTION

How did you select ContinuumInnovations?

We went to the AWS IQ section. We consider 2 other companies before selecting ContinuumInnovations. The CEO of the company was the only person involved in the selection process. The deciding factors were the warm welcome and the ability for the vendor to understand exactly what our need was.

Setup the input S3 bucket Setup the AWS MediaConvert, configure it to convert video files to our requirements and connect the input S3 bucket. Setup the Storage Gateway server and attached the output S3 bucket.

What was the team composition?

There was a team of 3 people involved from the vendor side. The team stayed the same during the duration of the project.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We are able to have video files uploaded to the input S3 bucket and are immediately convert and put in the output bucket, and required.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was very effective.

A clear understanding of the requirement and how to put the right system in place quickly.

Migrating our website from Hostgator to AWS.

What were your goals for this project?

Create the infrastructure within AWS to migrate our platform and assist with other miscellaneous tasks.

How did you select ContinuumInnovations?

They showed they had tremendous knowledge in what we needed to accomplish and were more than pleasant to work with.

We needed to setup the infrastructure for our database, filesystem and code. They setup all services related to this.

What was the team composition?

Two people were involved but we mostly worked with one person from the company who was great.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They successfully put everything in place as well as assisted in new requirements that came about as the project continued.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was great as we used slack to communicate as well as google hangout for video calls. They always made themselves available for calls for discussions.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Going above and beyond expectations and the willingness to work outside of normal hours to get the work completed.
