I’m the CTO at Yieldbird, a company that helps publishers get better revenue from programmatic advertising. We create products for publishers and different networks and companies.

What challenge were you trying to address with CODEST?

We needed help with development.

What was the scope of their involvement?

CODEST is helping build an integrated technology platform that accesses a variety of different platforms (like Google DoubleClick) and publishers. It then combines all the data to create merged reporting systems. CODEST helps implements optimization techniques such as A/B tests, machine learning algorithms, etc. They also do DevOps, like managing the servers. They mostly work in Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, and PHP.

What is the team composition?

They provide three scrum teams, which include project managers, 12 or 15 developers, and designers.

How did you come to work with CODEST?

We found them through a mutual connection. It was easier to start a cooperation because there was no understanding or conversation gap between us.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $1 million.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2016, and the work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

When we first started, our annual vision was below $1 million. Now, we’re at $20 million a year, at least. When the company is growing that fast, you have to have a reliable technology partner. They do everything they can to help us achieve more revenue from programmatic impressions.

How did CODEST perform from a project management standpoint?

They run an agile methodology, and we both provide project managers. They consistently deliver minimally viable products (MVPs) and always make sure I understand what’s going on. Their code reviews are excellent, too.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They treat the project like their own, making sure it’s as high-quality as possible. They don’t finish a project unless it’s completely functioning.

We hired The Codest to fill our need of web developers for our apps.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

The CEO of the company came with The Codest; I was the one to decide whether to go or not with them but as their developers seems to be good, we give them a try and here we are: one year later, still working with them.

We are happy to work with guys from this company, they deliver quality work. Developers are well motivated and self-educate in their specific area.

We had a daily standup in the video call way. Using Slack on daily basis. Github for code management and AWS for the rest infra. Biweekly iterations over Kanba board.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Motivated stuff. It is not common to see very good personal characteristics of offered employees. Also, they have a very nice blog with technical advice that proves their competence.

All good. No complaints.
