BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m a co-founder of UR Community Cares. We’re a nonprofit that links volunteers to community members.  

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Code Apex?

We hired Code Apex to develop our website/logo/marketing materials. This involved building a functional web platform that would connect to an app.  

What were your goals for this project?

Our goals were to design a website that would link community members to volunteers in the same town. This would help them access a variety services needed to keep them safely in their homes.

How did you select this vendor?

After interviewing two other companies with an equitable portfolio of work, Code Apex’s quality and flexibility gave them a significant edge. We weren’t simply a number to them. They treated us with care as a member of their community.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

Code Apex worked with us at every step to develop a mutual understanding of web design, security, and UX flow. Then, they built a secure website that allows users to create their own profile, fill it out with personal information, link to their acquaintances' pages, and publish a safe donation page. We have backdoor access into the website and fully functioning Google Analytics as well. They also produced our logo, giving us many options to choose from.

What was the team composition?

The team had a project manager who distributed the work properly. In consulting him, we felt he fully understood our vision as a nonprofit. He was readily available over email and handled everything with precision and patience.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Our nonprofit is solely website based, so, without Code Apex, we wouldn’t be able to help the community. We require a high level of functionality for scheduling services, and they created an application that makes it very easy to do our jobs.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Our idea wasn’t fully developed at the start of the development, but they were very patient and understanding in allowing our concepts to evolve. Making changes as we went allowed us to receive the most functional website possible.

Their project management accounted for delays in advance and thus incorporated time to alleviate potential issues without missing deadlines.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They were flexible and made themselves available as we needed them. Their good ideas for website improvement make us look forward to working with them on the app. Communication was always open and allowed for maximum productivity.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Nothing comes to mind. Improvement will only be necessary if they cease having open communication with clients during each phase prior to implementation.
