We were launching a new business and needed a website that offers an enhanced user experience. For that, we required a custom design. What was the scope of their involvement?
Smiling Pixels has helped us design the UI/UX and all things screens for our hub. They're helping us with our short videos, marketing assets, and any sort of collateral designs we need. We started the engagement by providing Smiling Pixels with our business requirements, after which they proposed a strategy and working processes, which we agreed on. We then articulated our vision for the project through various documents. For the marketing collateral, we provided Smiling Pixels with guidelines and inspiration for the type of design we like.
After that, Smiling Pixels created a few guiding briefs and started designing the screens and the user journey using Figma. They’re also tasked with producing creatives for our content marketing efforts.

We required a comprehensive competitive analysis of existing marketplace solutions within our niche and an end-to-end design of our website and mobile app.

I have had the pleasure of working with Sikander (Smiling Pixels Founder and CEO) on a number of complex projects and knew that he was the right man to approach for this job.

The Smiling Pixels team conducted comprehensive market research and, based on some very basic preliminary specs and requirements, set about creating a comprehensive information architecture for our app. In conjunction with this, the team worked with some very simple guidance and copy on designing our 6 page website, which they produced in record time.
Feedback provided was taken on board immediately and new layout and visual suggestions implemented with no delay. We managed to get the full website up in about 10 days, and were extremely happy with the results. We have received exceptional initial feedback on our visual communication and branding, which Smiling Pixels were instrumental in producing.
Throughout this time the UI/UX team began building out the wireframes based on the previously produced information architecture. Communication with the team was smooth and efficient and struck an excellent chord between receptivity to our feedback but also push back to some of our ideas that perhaps had a better way of being incorporated and expressed.
They not only drew on their years of experience in graphic design and UI/UX but went the extra mile to research best practices in optimising user journeys and flows. The last component was the high fidelity designs which were produced with an exceptionally high attention to detail, taking into consideration each flow as if it were a standalone application in itself. This was (and is proving to be) ideal to ensure the app engineering stage goes smoothly.

My team worked directly with a project manager and two designers - one for the website and one for the UI/UX design.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
As a startup we seek to breathe life into what we're building at every stage of the journey, and certainly our website has been extremely well received and has started to generate traction for onboarding suppliers as well as generating interest in our app from eventual customers.
Most importantly the app designs have been instrumental in showing our partners what awaits them down the line, and we have had the pleasure of seeing excitement across the board for what we are building. We wouldn't have been able to generate this level of early stage interest without the exceptional work and commitment of the Smiling Pixels team.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The project manager was always on call, responding to messages and emails almost in real time. Within an extremely short space of time Smiling Pixels went from being an outsourced supplier to feeling like a mainstay of our team.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Quite simply - their experience. This is not a team of entry level designers looking to make a quick buck by promising you the world (there are many of these out there! Beware!). Instead it is evident by their communication, their structure and their output that they are true professionals.
They went above and beyond to empathise with what we truly needed as a business, taking a holistic view of our brand, our objectives, our purpose and our overall mission and vision and translated this all into an incredible product which is now being engineered into a unique app we would never have been able to build without their exceptional work and input.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
With feedback coming hard and fast and working to extremely tight deadlines, it's normal that some feedback fell by the wayside and the team had to be prompted again to look at it. I think that finding a way to structure all feedback and report back against it would be one further step the team could take to improve.
Needless to say however this is very much a piece of feedback aimed at fine tuning an already excellent service that and workflow that I rate to be 5 stars +.

We were in need of a design agency that can design and develop websites for us and our clients and also do UI & UX design of complex web applications. Hence, we hired Smiling Pixels.

Smiling Pixels was referred to us by one of our clients. He spoke very highly of them.
Describe the scope of their work in detail, including any steps and the final deliverables.
For all projects they have a process they follow which makes it all extremely convinient for us and our clients:
They initially do a discovery meeting to understand details about the project e.g. branding, business, target market, audience, competitors, etc.
Then we collaborate to define the information architecture (or site map in the case of websites) - user flows, user journeys etc. and the complete scope of the project
Then comes the wireframing phase. In this phase, they ensure that all content is represented properly and is optimized for a great user experience.
Then they do mood boarding which is a collection of design elements that provide the initial concepts, colors and styles proposed for the general “look and feel” of the project.
Lastly in the design phase, they merge the wireframes with mood boards keeping in mind the branding, etc. to produce the visual design of the project.
If the project is related to a website, after completing the visual design phase they develop the website.
After several projects, we have found them to be very supportive and receptive of feedback. They are very responsive as well and are available virtually 24/7. We are very happy with their work and we will keep using their services in the future.

Me and my team works directly with the CEO, Project Manager, multiple UI/UX designers and website developers.

Due to their work for my clients (about a dozen website and design projects), I have been able to retain those clients, get referrals from them and grow my business.

Extremely Smooth. They have setup a separate account for us in ASANA to keep us updated on the progress of upto serveral ongoing projects at single time. Exteremly satisfied.

They strive for 100% customer satisfaction. They do not stop until we or our clients are fully satisfied. I have rarely gotten to work with such high work ethics. I think this is what's most unique about them.

After the initial kick off we met regularly, mostly fortnightly to discuss wireframes, and various stages of development. For me the key points were for the team to understand that we are tapping into a new market with a tool (telepsych). Team was very well rounded, culturally aware and was very clear about my goals of highlighting importance of mental health services and educational services. I believe we were able to bring home that message with their web design.
