    We always start with a chat, from their we launch the project with a Rootdigging Session, a structured diagnostic where we find what's actually driving the culture, strategy, or team dynamics beneath the surface before we agree on anything at all. Most consultancies start with a solution. We start with honest questions. The Rootdigging Session typically involves conversations with leadership, structured observation, and a synthesis of what we're finding, the patterns, the unspoken rules, the gap between the story the organisation tells about itself and the reality people actually live. From there, we design the engagement together based on what we find. Sometimes that's a long-term embedded culture programme. Sometimes it's a leadership team intervention. Sometimes it's the MonkeyDojo Train-the-Trainer pathway to build internal capability. We don't decide that before we've listened. The Rootdigging Session is available as a standalone diagnostic for organisations who want clarity before committing to a full engagement. It's a low-risk way to find out whether we're the right fit for each other, and we think that matters as much to you as it does to us.

    We work best with SMEs and mid-market organisations — typically between 50 and 1,000 people — who are at a genuine moment of change. That might be rapid growth that's outpaced the culture. A leadership transition that's left the team uncertain. Culture drift that nobody has quite been able to name yet. Or simply the quiet recognition that something is off and the gap between ambition and reality has become a little too comfortable. The organisations we do our best work with tend to share a few things. Leadership that is willing to be part of the process, not just sponsor it from a distance. At least one internal champion who genuinely cares about making change stick from the inside. And an appetite for honest conversation over comfortable reports. We work across the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, in both Dutch and English, across sectors including technology, professional services, public sector, and healthcare. We are probably not the right fit if you're looking for a framework to implement, a deck to present to the board, or an external party to own the change so your people don't have to. We do deep work. It takes time, trust, and a willingness to look at things that might be uncomfortable. The organisations that lean into that tend to get results that last.

    Yes; we deliver fully in both Dutch and English, and we mean fully. Not translated materials with English facilitation. Not a Dutch-speaking junior while the senior work happens in English. Our team operates at the same depth in both languages, which matters more than it might sound when the work involves surfacing what people actually think and feel about their organisation. Culture work is language-sensitive. The nuance in how a Dutch leadership team talks about hierarchy, directness, or organisational identity is different from how a British team navigates the same territory. We're Amsterdam-based with active presence in the UK, and we've worked across both contexts enough to know that bilingual delivery isn't just a convenience. If your leadership team is internationally mixed, Dutch and English speakers in the same room, we're comfortable holding that dynamic without losing the thread. It's actually one of the more common situations we work in, particularly with scaling tech companies and professional services firms operating across both markets.

    We agree on success indicators at the start of every engagement, not vague cultural health scores, but outcomes tied to what the organisation actually cares about. That might be employee retention rates. Leadership behaviour change measured before and after. Team performance indicators. The quality of strategic decision-making at senior level. Engagement scores tied to specific cultural shifts rather than general satisfaction. We work with what your organisation already tracks where possible, and introduce new measurement where it's genuinely useful rather than just reassuring. Our work has helped clients reduce employee churn by 18%, realign leadership teams following a merger, and build internal capability that holds after the engagement ends. We're proud of those outcomes and we're transparent about how we got there. The answer to this question is that cultural change is not always linear and not always fast. We will not promise you a transformation in 30 days. What we will do is agree upfront on what success looks like, check in against it honestly throughout the engagement, and tell you if something isn't working before you have to tell us. That kind of accountability is built into how we work.

    A workshop can shift a moment. A full engagement shifts a culture. Both have their place, but they are not interchangeable, and we think it's worth being direct about that. We offer diagnostic sessions and workshops as entry points. A Rootdigging Session, a leadership team offsite, a focused intervention around a specific challenge. These are valuable and we do them well. For organisations who aren't ready to commit to a longer engagement, or who want to experience how we work before going deeper, they're the right starting point. But the most meaningful, lasting change we've been part of has happened in longer embedded engagements, typically three to twelve months, where we're working alongside your people consistently enough to understand what's really going on, design responses that fit your actual culture rather than a generic model, and course-correct as things develop. The organisations that get the most from us are the ones who treat culture change as an ongoing discipline rather than a project with a start and end date. If you're looking for a one-day fix or a report that explains the problem without anyone having to do anything difficult about it, we're probably not the right fit, and we'd rather tell you that now than discover it three months in.
