Chrome Leads was tasked with securing a Google Grant for a client within an eight-week timeframe. After receiving the deposit and not following through on the work, they have dropped communication.

After not receiving the requested refund, the client canceled the project with Chrome Leads. Initial communication did not evolve into frequent updates or ongoing interactions. Rather, the vendor's relationship with the client deteriorated further, costing the latter valuable time and money.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

I’m the owner of a marketing company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Chrome Leads?

They were tasked with facilitating the procurement of a Google Grant within eight weeks.

What was the scope of their involvement?

After taking our deposit, they neither delivered nor responded to our communication.

What is the team composition?

We met with one contact initially, but he no longer works at the company. I’ve received emails from a number of other people, but I haven’t spoken to anyone else directly.

How did you come to work with Chrome Leads?

I was introduced to them through a networking group. I wasn’t sure if they were legimitate or not, but I didn’t see anything wrong with their website so I took a chance with them, which, unfortunately, I regret doing.

How much have you invested with them?

The total cost is around $6,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from January–June 2022.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

How did your relationship with the vendor evolve?

After the eight-week timeline passed, we attempted to obtain a refund, but they have not provided one. I’m speaking publicly so other people aren’t defrauded like I was.

How did Chrome Leads address the challenges that arose?

Rather than respond to our email, they have gone silent without refunding our money.

Describe the impact this engagement has had on your business.

The $6,000 we invested with them was vitally needed for our operations. Additionally, time is money, so this engagement was a complete waste for us.

How was project management handled?

After initial Zoom calls and the signing of the contract, Chrome Leads didn’t give me updates or stay in communication. After it grew worse and worse, I became very suspicious and stopped believing they would deliver.

Is there anything that the vendor did well or that you would consider a strength?

No, I haven’t seen any evidence of anything they’ve done well.

In what specific areas can they improve?

One of the top things a vendor can do is stay in contact with their client. If they’ve made contact with someone, that person should be included in that communication.

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?

Do the work yourself rather than rely on someone who promises you a lot.
