The original brainstorming was handled by my internal team, and we used infograins to determine what was practical. The design and UI/UX were made by my internal team, while CDN took care of the backend. They were allowed some latitude after we turned in our work to make improvements to improve the site's responsiveness and tidy up the graphics. 

To create the website, they used several different frameworks, particularly React, with the fundamental web technologies of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. They have a cryptocurrency wallet created especially for our platform, as well as smart contracts that they publish to the blockchain. By the time we had our restaurant opening, we were much more successful because the food delivery feature helped us to cover the whole city. We received great support from CDN team, who helped us securely and successfully launch a  system with all features that we had wanted.

They also submitted it to App World for the app distribution. We are in their three-month guarantee period. If we have any issues, we can ask them for help.

We used an Internet search platform for developers and professionals. We used online research tools as well. We published an offer, and a variety of developers and enterprises applied. We selected CDN because they had previous experience.

It was successful, and we have a functioning and successful application.

CDN is easy to deal with from a customer point of view. They take responsibility for what they say, and for the scope of the project. We had an issue where the scope of the project was not completely clear. When we realized it was part of the scope, they assumed responsibility of the new piece of the project. They are very serious about their relationship with the customers and with their partner companies. They are a very serious enterprise, and they keep their commitments. There is a time delay, but they take their work seriously.

Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or that you might do differently?

The only thing we weren't completely satisfied with was a large time delay with the project. Their communication with respect to the code could be improved. We need complete documentation of the code as written as well as the steps that apply to distribution in the app world and other platforms. They gave us some documentation, but clearly, they can improve their documentation.

They have done the first and second version of the app. The total project was about $60,000 to $70,000.

The app had good ratings on the App Store, about 4.6 or 4.7 for the iOS version. Rating them from 1 to 10, I'd say the app worked at about an 8.

Are you satisfied with the performance of the app?

Generally, it worked well.

Was the project wrapped up cleanly and successfully?

It was successful, but not in time.

Is there anything unique about them that really makes them stand out, compared to other companies?

They are hard working and very determined through the project.

Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or that you might do differently?

Time management. That is a problem for IT companies in general. That is the main issue that goes along with expectation management and client handling, which I think is a cultural thing more than an individual CDN issue. We are a German company, and we have the reputation of being clear in our answers. We like to hear if a schedule is slipping, but there are problems when someone tells me I will get it tomorrow, and then it takes a week. That’s what I mean by expectation management.

CDN is an Indian company, and I think the culture makes it difficult to say that something is not going so well. They may think it makes them look not competent enough, which is definitely not the case. Everybody knows that projects can take longer and that problems can occur. This is an example of time and expectation management. That is what I would improve. This is also something in general for remote companies. It helps build trust. We trust them; otherwise, we wouldn't have hired them for this project. That could be done better, and the trust from our end would be established more easily.
