BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I own a company that markets nutritional products for cleansing, detoxification, and weightloss. We’ve also recently introduced a CBD oil that has really helped a lot of people.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Cardell Media?

The company has been in business for about 30 years, and we decided that we needed to adopt some more modern marketing strategies.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We have engaged them to help us with Google advertising, Facebook and other social media marketing, and a few other strategies to help grow our business presence online. Unfortunately, we came across a problem internally that delayed the start of our campaign because of some changes that are taking place internally on the platform that we use for generating sales and leads.

So far, we have generated a script and they are currently working on the video that goes along with that. We have a lot more planned, but for now, the project is completely on hold because of the internal changes we needed to make to our system.

What was the team composition?

We worked with three members of their team, including an account lead, her supervisor, and then an internal tech and analytics person.

How did you come to work with Cardell Media?

They initially came across my email in the form of a free webinar on strategies during COVID-19. I began listening and recognized the advertising but also the valuable and practical advice that they were giving, so I decided to expand our involvement with them from there.

How much have you invested with them?

Since we’re just getting started, we’ve only paid the initial first month's consulting fees, which was under $2,000 in total.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started in June 2020 and is ongoing, as we are planning to start up our work with them again on August 1st.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Based on what we have seen from them so far, we are completely confident that they have the ability to create the online presence that we need and grow our business beyond what we’ve seen before. The best part is, we know what they’re doing because they’re teaching us as we go, and that allows us as leaders of our organization to educate our people on these strategies as well.

The video script itself is phenomenal, so we are really excited about that, and then the technical knowledge they’ve demonstrated in our conversations with them on top of that has set us up well going forward.

How did Cardell Media perform from a project management standpoint?

Amber, who’s based in Houston, has been very accommodating with her time and listening to what we have to say in terms of edits to the script or any changes we have to make. We started off with a Zoom call just to get to know her, which helped a lot in developing a rapport and a sense of her personality.

On top of that, someone we don’t even know in their billing department reached out to us because they realized that I had signed up for something with two different emails without realizing it and gave us a refund for that amount. That really helped to set us off on the right foot because they could easily have gotten away with that, or let us know but kept the money, and to see how flexible they were and concerned about our best interests was very encouraging.

Joel, who handles the technical side of the project, has been incredibly patient in all of our interactions with him. He set us up on a couple of the platforms, and then was able to speak to our headquarters IT guy and realize that we needed to make some changes before going ahead with the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We signed a contract with them for a monthly consulting fee, and they were the ones who decided to put those fees on hold until we were able to move forward with the actual work. We didn’t even ask for them not to charge us before they brought that to our attention. I couldn’t think of a better example of integrity.

Customer service is an incredibly difficult and stressful role to have, and so it’s important to us that someone who does a good job at it is recognized. They not only did a good job, but really knocked it completely out of the park.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We really haven’t seen anything that they could be doing better so far.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Just be open. Especially if you don’t have experience in this area, there can be a resistance to things you’re totally unfamiliar with. But once you get through that resistance, you have the ability to learn an incredible amount just by working with them.
