I’m the CIO of a regulated financial advisor. We provide a robo-advisor.

What challenge were you trying to address with Capital Auditores?

As a regulated financial consulting company, we needed to have an external auditor present the documents to the regulator.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Capital Auditores is doing our annual company audits. Their main job is to verify that our accounting information is correct — that the bills we’re sending out are real. They sometimes fact-check things with third-party companies.

What is the team composition?

Our main contact is one of their technical analysts.

How did you come to work with Capital Auditores?

We needed to inform our regulator who the auditor was. We searched a little bit and found an auditor registered with the regulator near Madrid, so we booked them.

How much have you invested with them?

The yearly spend is €5,000–€6,000 (approximately $6,000–$7,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Capital Auditores in August 2014 and it’s an ongoing relationship.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

In the beginning, the relationship was a bit complicated because they didn’t understand how our business worked. Eventually, Capital Auditores got more used to it and improved their knowledge of our business. They approached us a bit more on what exactly we do.

How did Capital Auditores perform from a project management standpoint?

When the audit season began, they asked us for all the information. We also sent them documentation via email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We haven't found anything impressive about them, they’re a regular auditor.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They made a big accounting mistake in 2020.
