I am the project sourcing manager for software development on hardware engineering projects in the R&D division at Roche, a pharmaceutical company. 

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Cactus Code?

When we hired Cactus Code, I worked with our affiliate company in Croatia. We needed help developing an e-learning platform for local nurses. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

For our first project, Cactus Code developed a web-based e-learning platform based on our requirements and documentation. We outlined how the platform would work and how it would function. Cactus Code provided some feedback on the project before beginning development. Once the project was complete, Cactus Code provided maintenance and hosting support. 

On the platform, nurses had access to classes, which included video lessons, and could accumulate course points. 

How did you come to work with Cactus Code?

We put out an RFP. 

How much have you invested with them?

The app project cost around $20,000, but I’m not sure how much the maintenance fee was. 

What is the status of this engagement?

This project began in June 2017 and the platform ran for several years. However, I’m no longer working at that location, so I’m unsure if their work is ongoing. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Cactus Code worked closely with our stakeholders, who tracked every aspect of the project and measured its success. I don’t have any specific metrics, but I remember there weren’t any issues with the app, and Cactus Code maintained it.

How did Cactus Code perform from a project management standpoint?

Since I was primarily responsible for sourcing Cactus Code, I could really only speak to their communication during that period, which was good. However, my colleagues did relay to me that Cactus Code was easy to work with and very responsive. We primarily communicated with them through emails. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Cactus Code delivered everything on time. They were easy to work with, making edits and adapting to our changing requirements. Even when we wanted to make changes during the middle of development, Cactus Code’s team was open to it. They were very receptive to constantly improving the product. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be good if Cactus Code expanded their team a bit so they could handle all the projects on their plate. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

As long as you provide Cactus Code with precise requirements, it will make the project much easier. This advice applies to all companies, however. Communication is key.
