I’m the owner of Pocket Please LLC. We’re a customized pocket shirt company. We’re primarily online but beginning to sell to stores as well.

What challenge were you trying to address with Burgeon Global Solutions?

We brought them on to handle the technical part of building our site. Boilerplate models didn’t have the customization options I was looking for.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Burgeon Global Solutions built our site from scratch. I had a pretty clear idea of what I wanted the website to look like. I had some ideas and gave examples of sites I wanted to emulate. The Burgeon Global Solutions team took all those details and specifications in stride and came up with the best solution. After a few tweaks, we went forward and they built the site in about a month and a half. The customization piece was the hardest part.

Their team also managed some ad campaigns and did SEO for six months.

What is the team composition?

I initially had one point of contact, along with another individual. Ultimately, there’s been about four people on the team. Larry (Director) has consistently expressed that I can go to him if I need anything.

How did you come to work with Burgeon Global Solutions?

My wife was recommended to them through a colleague who had previously worked with them. I knew right away that it’d be a good fit because Larry assured me they could do what I needed. They were very confident through the initial meet-up and walk-through, and I liked that. They immediately started drafting things and were off running.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested around $1,500.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement started in August 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

My business has seen healthy growth. We went from zero sales when we launched the site to growing roughly 50% quarter-over-quarter. Obviously, it’s not all attributed to them, but their work has been a great help.

The Burgeon Global Solutions team is super attentive. Because there’s a time difference, I can send an email in the evening and then wake up to everything being dealt with. Again, Larry made it clear that I could reach out to him if anything wasn’t getting taken care of. I’ve never had to do that, but he occasionally chimes in and reminds me. The whole team is great. They’re professional, and their prices are fantastic. I’d highly recommend them on all fronts.

How did Burgeon Global Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management is really good. Formerly, I was with a different agency that never followed timelines or met deadlines. Going from them to Burgeon Global Solutions was night and day. If I need something, 90% of the time it’s taken care of by the next morning. If that isn’t the case, they’d be on it by the next day. I couldn’t ask for any more urgency when it comes to their ability to meet deadlines.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team is so dedicated. They respond every time I send an email. I never hear “Oh, we forgot” or anything like that. They pay great attention to detail, and I feel like I’m their most revered customer.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything. I really like the way they do their business and couldn’t ask for more.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Forge a relationship with Larry and have a clear idea of what you’re after. Tell them your vision and set expectations, then there will be no surprises. That was my experience.

What challenge were you trying to address with Burgeon Global Solutions?

We wanted to partner with a group that could handle our programming and design needs. Burgeon Global Solutions was a good fit for us.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Burgeon Global Solutions provides web design and development services for our clients. They build front- and backends using HTML5 and PHP. In some cases, we’ll provide wireframes, but for the most part, they help us create everything from scratch. They also help us make logos, banners, and other graphic design collateral.

In our first project together, we asked Burgeon Global Solutions to build a custom backend of a website that needed a CMS and some e-commerce capabilities. The team put it together very quickly, and our client was happy with the look and feel and the details. We’ve been working together on nearly all aspects of our requests every since. 

What is the team composition?

My main point of contact is Larry (Director, Burgeon Global Solutions). I deal mostly with their team leads, but I work with the entire team at Burgeon Global Solutions, which consists of 10 people.

How did you come to work with Burgeon Global Solutions?

When we first tried to find a partner, we started with freelancers within our area. However, it was hard to move quickly on tasks that required a lot of attention and fast-paced delivery. We then found Burgeon Global Solutions and asked them to provide a quote on a client project. As I mentioned before, they delivered quickly and our client was happy with their work, so we continued our partnership.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about $50,000–$75,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in 2014, and our partnership is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve been able to complete 98% of our projects on time and accurately with Burgeon Global Solutions’ services. They provide exactly what we’ve asked for about 95% of the time. Miscommunications happened on a small handful of items, and sometimes we find coding errors in the background, but overall our clients are very satisfied with Burgeon Global Solutions’ work.

How did Burgeon Global Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

Burgeon Global Solutions is always on time and within budget. They regularly give quotes that fall below what other firms have asked. I communicate with either Larry or the team leads, who cover many different areas. 

I’ve never had any issues. They understand everything I give them through our project management system. When I have to convey complicated requirements, I’ll create diagrams or a video. We use Zoho Projects, ActiveCollab, Skype, and Screencast-O-Matic.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The speed at which Burgeon Global Solutions can turn around tasks has been outstanding. I’ve given them projects with very tight deadlines, and they always deliver at least a working model by or before the deadline. Every time I ask for something, regardless of the timeline I ask for, they have come through.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’d appreciate more details in their documentation. That’s the only area I’d highlight.

Any advice for potential customers?

Be as explicit as possible in your requests. Have a clear, written-down plan of action to give Burgeon Global Solutions as much context as possible about what they’re building. Also, be upfront with your timeline because they work fast.
