Please describe your company and your position there.
The company is in food and franchise services. I am a senior software architect and developer.
For what projects/services did your company hire Brian Kayfitz Development?
We needed to build an iOS app that integrated with front-end web and back end REST api.
What were your goals for this project?
To build a Kitchen Display to show pending food orders for prep and allow interaction to bump orders once they were ready for delivery or pick-up.
How did you select this vendor?
We had a history from previous projects and Brian's work and reputations was very good.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
An iOS "shell" app was provided to host html content. A internal proxy was provided to allow for data calls over https. Apple infrastructure services were provided for proper deployment and integration with our (Meraki) enterprise tools.
What was the team composition?
It was a 3-man team. I was responsible for the web-content, Brian was responsible for the iOS app and there was another member responsible for the Enterprise distribution service to iPad devices in the field.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
There are many stores, across different brands, currently using the KDS devices at multiple stations in their kitchens.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
We got specs from the Brand managers and Brian had a few meetings to discuss. We proceeded to build our respective sections and then we worked in tandem to perform the integration with iOS and web content. Afterwords Brian worked to ensure that the Enterprise deployment would go smoothly.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Good communication. Quick and effective development.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Can't think of any off the top of my head.
