I'm the founder and CEO of an emerging fintech company that is setup to serve a new generation of startup investors.

Our organization aims to create low-touch, high-impact experiences that enable new and emerging investors to invest like a pro. As our product offering began to expand beyond education, we connected with Bit Complete to help us create a easy-to-use platform that matches investors with great opportunities.

We worked with a consultant and project manager who sourced Bit Complete through their network. We chose Bit Complete because they were professional, down to earth and understood the needs of early-stage company. They also brought a ton of engineering experience and an incredible track record to the project.

Prior to engaging with Bit Complete, we prepared a full product requirements document. After kicking off with the Bit Complete team they operated in continuous communication and collaboratively to develop our first technical product.

We worked directly with the two founders on the project.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The project is still in progress, but the team completed each deliverable on schedule with little to no revisions.

The project team was really flexible in how they communicated and engaged with our team. We moved across a couple different platforms (Slack, Email, etc) at our request and the transition was seamless.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Bit Complete was easy to work with. They had exceptional communication and really quick response times which instilled consistent confidence in the team. They know the craft and are extremely capable of collaborating with and guiding partners in the process of creating net new product.

No.

I’m the CEO of an AI analytics software company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Bit Complete?

We were looking for someone to help us develop AI products that are easily scalable.

We’re working with Bit Complete to provide us with technical guidance and expertise in building AI software and products.

They’re specifically helping us with a full technical audit of our cloud and expanding our engineering team.

What is the team composition?

We’re working directly with Dylan and Matt (Founding Partners).

How did you come to work with Bit Complete?

They were referred to us by one of our trust advisers and after talking with them, it became very clear that they weren’t a typical development consultancy.

I was very impressed with their technical background and technical pedigree, so it was a very easy decision to bring them in for this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing partnership started in November 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Bit Complete is very prompt and timely when it comes to adhering to our deadlines. The precision of their work is incredible and they go above and beyond with their deliverables, including a very detailed executive recommendation for myself and my head of engineering.

They impact several millions of dollars worth of investment that the company plans to make in the next two years, so their recommendations are quite vital.

How did Bit Complete perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re great from a project management perspective. We typically collaborate through Slack, email, and Google Meet for video conferencing. We also utilize Excel and Coda.io.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Not only do they have strong expertise in coding and development, but they bring a technical leadership perspective so they understand how to build and scale teams, as well as think about architecting new products.

Moreover, being able to see the big picture and think like an executive is what sets them apart from the competition.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything they should improve on because I’ve been very pleased with the entire experience.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I advise you to go in with a clear set of questions because you’ll be working with very talented people who can provide you with excellent service.

It’s also important to have clear goals and objectives before starting a new relationship, so communicate your timelines and align your deliverables accordingly.

We are an early-stage software startup that empowered engineering teams with better collaboration, communication, and alignment. I was the CEO and sole founder, leading both sales and product development.

We originally hired Bit Complete after the departure of a full-time software engineer to quickly ramp up and fill in while we searched for our next full-time software engineer. We were especially keen to lean on Matt's experience leading engineering teams and his ability not only to execute quickly but also to help us maintain a healthy and functional code base.

I had previously worked with Matt Schweitz and was already familiar with his ability to hire and vet high quality software engineers, as well as leadership skills on both the technical and product side. I was also excited to get his input on tech decisions as they pertained to the project at hand.

Bit Complete helped us with a key pivot and platform relaunch. Our original product was for HR stakeholders, and Bit Complete helped us develop a new product that was aimed at Engineering Teams. They developed a number of complicated integrations with Jira, GitHub, and Slack. The scope of work included both application programming, front-end web development, integrations with service providers, and a Slack bot.

There were 4 individuals that worked with us, 1 senior engineer, 2 more junior engineers, and Matt.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We successfully launched the product to our customers without incurring much tech debt and even improving the quality of our code base with some new best practices such as code reviews, UI testing, integration testing, Python repository design pattern, and docker.

Matt is a skilled project manager and I would trust him with any project. He is available on Slack, is highly communicative relative to project status, ensures that there is a mutual understanding on both sides, and manages his team well.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Bit Complete produced higher quality work than the average dev shop. They demonstrated strong capabilities in application development and oversight from the managing team.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Bit Complete's pricing is on the more expensive side, because they offer high quality talent.

I"m the CTO of Here Not There, Inc. (https://hntlabs.com) We are a VC backed startup building communication tools. In 2020 we were building Slashtalk.com, a tool for remote workers to streamline realtime collaboration.

As we started onboarding users it became immediately clear we needed to integrate our product to our backend services used to coordinate customer feedback and user outreach.

As a startup, we don't have highly documented internal processes so we needed a vendor that could join our quickly changing environment, ramp up quickly, and execute independently from a rough spec we provided.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I was introduced to Dylan at Bit Complete by an internal referral. After discussing the functionality Slashtalk needed, and what support Shalshtalk would be able to provide, Dylan proposed a solution as well as an engagement model that would flex with our changing needs.

His experience as an engineer was key his ability to propose a good solution, and our confidence his team would deliver.

The work covered the development of a web service developed in NodeJS and hosted in Google App Engine, and a client experience component developed in React hosted in both a browser as well as Electron.

The Web Service integrated with our CODA database as well as Google Cloud Storage for storing user captured data.

The client component hosted data in local storage until the uploading and processing were completed, and provided the user multiple ways to attach information, including drag and drop and file choosing UI.

There were 3 people in the core team, including the project manager and two engineers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The project was delivered in three phases. Each phase was delivered at the expected time, had good documentation, working tests, and was integrated seamlessly into the production system.

The first phase integrated with our CODA based workflow for managing customer interaction and immediately provided us insight into how users we getting confused with one of our features in Slashtalk customer onboarding.

The second and third phases provided users the ability to provide rich feedback and were used over 300 times in the first month with zero issues.

Aligned with our preferences Bitcomplete communicated with our team using Slack, and our product, Slashtalk, for communication. Specifications were written in an appropriate level of detail using Google Docs.

All expected deliverable dates were met, and as they were participating in our daily huddles there were no surprises about scope or dates.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Our most significant challenge in this project was going to be finding senior engineers that could integrate into our product code and systems without much support from our side.

Bit Complete really delivered on this dimension, with Dylan personally participating in the designs, and the two other engineers being very high quality and independent.

None at all.

We hired BitComplete to build a custom CMS for us to synthesize academic research. Our goal was to use the CMS to write evidence summaries.

We selected this vendor based on prior connections with senior leadership.

Scope of work included app development from scratch, which relied on graph databases and React libraries.

We received our MVP recently, which was on schedule.

We use Slack and Shortcut for communication and project management. The whole BitComplete is very prompt and responsive.

I am impressed by how quickly they are able to staff our project with additional developers when our needs expanded.

Sometimes they could do a better job prioritizing what stories to work on, or building more quickly to help clients develop their MVP.
