Big Red Jelly did branding for us, including creating an isotype and updating our logo and fonts. In addition, they helped us implement all of our ideas into our brand and enhance our WordPress website’s UI/UX — our site is mainly a lead generation platform with blog features.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They did a great job experimenting with different designs and using our brand guidelines to make everything match — our site now looks cleaner and more modern. In addition, they well-received and implemented our feedback.

How did Big Red Jelly perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management was very good in terms of communication and meeting deadlines and budgets — they adjusted to our requirements throughout the process. Regarding tools, we used Google Drive, email, and phone calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their creativity and affordability are their best attributes.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could improve their ability to estimate the amount of work needed for every project, enabling them to set expectations more precisely — attention to detail is always important.

Our business is a new business and had a low quality website and branding. We hired Big Red Jelly to revamp our branding and messaging internally and externally along with building out a new website for us.

We discovered Big Red Jelly from one of our install partners who had their branding and website also done by Big Red Jelly.

To start, Big Red Jelly set up an initial meeting with out leadership team to describe their services and prices. After our team decided upon a package for the branding stage and the building stage we filled out a questionnaire explaining everything we were hoping and looking for from them from design style to messaging. We had weekly meetings from then on where they presented what they had come up with and for us to add and edit anything. We received a new logo, icon, colors, font, internal messaging, external messaging, and website.

We worked with two Big Red Jelly Brand and Build Strategist and one Director of Web Support & Strategy.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our website isn't completely done yet because we are still in our development stage but I know it will drive a lot more organic leads our way. The branding has allowed us to be synchronized as a company with our communication to customers and appearance. We look much more professional as a company. The branding has allowed us to create banners for events, flyers, business cards, proposals, and advertising online.

We communicated about the project through email and Zoom meetings. It was easy to communicate through email since that is what our company uses daily. We received all the deliverables on time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We asked for a lot of edits because as a new company, we wanted everything to be as perfect as possible and to make sure our team LOVED the outcome. Big Red Jelly was very patient with us and made sure we were heard and received what we were asking for.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Sometimes I felt the weekly meetings were rushed and we didn't have enough time.

Big Red Jelly redesigned our website to match our current branding. They handled the technical and design aspects of the project. We did everything on WordPress. During the offboarding phase, they gave us basic WordPress training for us to update things on the platform when needed.

A friend of mine referred me to Big Red Jelly, and I hired them because they were substantially less expensive than other vendors. Moreover, other vendors went on and on during the vetting process as they tried to pitch their services. Ben kept things short — within 30 minutes, he told us what they could do. Our conversation was straightforward and transparent.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement lasted from March–August 2022. We first talked to them in March 2022 and then started the development process around June–July 2022.

My team was truly happy with the rebranded website — our sales and executive teams absolutely loved it. It was a great upgrade from what we had before. 

How did Big Red Jelly perform from a project management standpoint?

They were personable. If I missed a meeting, they would ensure they followed up. Their communication was outstanding, and I was pleased with their company. They met deadlines, and their pricing was amazing. To communicate, we used emails and video calls. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Big Red Jelly’s pricing was impressive. Other companies charged $40,000 more than they did. Moreover, the team was hardworking, and I could easily handle whatever they lacked and pick the pieces up by myself. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I changed many things to their designs, which weren’t bad. However, it made sense for our company to have things changed and altered. It wasn’t that they weren’t good designers; I simply knew exactly what I wanted design-wise. I felt comfortable communicating that with them, and they were willing to work with me on it.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I recommend Big Red Jelly to anyone. They’ve done a great job for us, and I want to see them grow and become a bigger company.

It’s too soon to share any measurable statistics, but Big Red Jelly was able to build a professional website that significantly boosted our brand recognition.

They were very flexible and communicated with us through secured channels to share sensitive information. The team was also quick to respond whenever I had questions or concerns and strictly adhered to the budget despite initial miscommunications.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were impressed with the quality of their deliverables and how they were able to adapt to our needs.

Are there any areas they could improve?

One instance that gave me a scare was when their invoicing system didn’t recognize my payment going through. Although they’ve since dealt with and resolved that issue, maybe they could improve the efficiency of their invoicing process.

I would advise you to keep your communications open and have every information they may need readily available to make the project run smoothly.

The project lasted about two months, and during the first month, we went back and forth with the team on the logo design, for which they used Adobe Illustrator. The team also provided us with templates for PowerPoint presentations, white papers, and such materials. 

In the second month, Big Red Jelly focused on our Wix website. The site functions as a landing page where users can view a video about our technology and get in touch with us.

I was impressed with Big Red Jelly’s work on logo development. We had a great collaboration on the logo and are happy with the end product. Moreover, Naomi did a great job getting us templates for other materials.

We weren’t very impressed by the web development. The work was a bit sloppy, and we had to be on top of the team.

Your experience with them will depend on which teammate you’re paired up with. I highly recommend Naomi.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The site is done and I love it, have begun directing traffic there and people can effectively sign up for services. Plus a logo (mostly) done ("mostly" because it needed a couple extra rounds of revisions for me to be satisfied, which they gave me for free but the final still needed a couple tiny changes)

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Wonderful collaborative effort that made me feel in charge and in control of the projects but yet the pressure was on them, not me.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The collaborative quality. They had great expertise but yet were patient enough to explain things to me and let me make the decisions, even when it went against their suggestions. Then when I suggested things, they told me the pros and cons, let me decide, and implemented whatever I chose quickly. They were highly patient with our learning process and slow decisions. Especially Preston on the web design, huge shoutout to him!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Literally no complaints on the web design side, other than I wish I could afford to hire Preston full time and keep making it even more awesome! I was not as impressed by the logo design. To her credit, Mallory was similarly patient, collaborative, and generous. But she just didn't seem to have that great of design ideas. Her designs were not as sleek or clever or beautiful as the modern standards. I ended up having to basically come up with all the critical parts of the logos myself, and walk her through what I envisioned (with some difficulty). So it felt like I was the designer, and she was just the artist, but she was supposed to be both.

Our website was created about Two years ago on the Woocommerce platform, and we kept having background problems, and the UIX wasn't attracting any users and new customers.

Big Red Jelly was referred to us by a marketing company that we were talking with at the moment, and after having a couple of meetings and looking over some of their last web designs and development, we decided to go with them.

Every week for five weeks, we had two discovery calls with the web developer and branding teams. Every week they had a new idea on how to be better And attract more users by changing this or adding that. they kept me updated throughout the week with email, and communication was excellent.

In total, I talked with three people. But most of my meetings were with Chloe and Preston, who are very dedicated and professional at what they do.

I've just finished working with them, the website is done, and I'm confident that their beautiful design and exceptional internal messaging will bring us more customers.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Both of the people that were directly in touch with us were communicative, and every time that we had a suggestion or an idea besides what they were coming up with, they would take time to research it, and either use it or come up with a better solution.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

In the introduction calls, there are not that many factors that you can check in such a short time, but besides their work and the fact that they were professional, ai got a perfect vibe from Ben. He seemed like an honest and helpful guy, and for me, that's a quality that made me make up my decision.

We ended up getting a perfect product.

Big Red Jelly has built our website with all the bells and whistles we needed in terms of design. They’ve developed a pre-order feature for the website. The team has guided us in making the website look more professional, so they’ve developed other features such as affiliate programs, discount codes, and a complex FAQ section. We’ve also used various software and widgets for the website, such as Instafeed.

Big Red Jelly was recommended to me by the ad agency I used to create content and ads. I chose them over other companies because of their branding; I also liked their website. Overall, it made the most sense to me to go with them.

We’ve spent around $4,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the project in September 2022. I’m going to add some tweaks to the website, but the project is almost complete for the most part.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The website hasn’t launched yet, so it hasn’t started driving traffic. Anecdotally, Big Red Jelly’s services are phenomenal. They’re the perfect pick for this project, and I’m truly happy with everything that’s transpired. 

Moreover, it’s been nice for me to go into this new e-commerce business with them. I have somebody on my side to give me advice and help me finish the project. Overall, they’ve been truly professional. 

How did Big Red Jelly perform from a project management standpoint?

They have a great workflow, and working with them has been absolutely incredible. The team has been truly responsive to our needs. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I haven’t used any other agency, so I can’t compare them to anyone else. However, I truly enjoyed my experience with Big Red Jelly.

They could manage the add-ons more. To be fair, Preston has gone above and beyond to ensure I’m happy with the product.

Go through their process. Big Red Jelly has a good program where they walk people through the process to get them where they want to be. You’ll come out on the other side with a good website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I already had a domain name and the concept of a website, so Big Red Jelly came in and helped me develop the actual site in Wix, following my directions. They’ve also been in charge of implementing third-party integrations, such as a PayPal integration. Additionally, Big Red Jelly provides graphic design and content development services, but I haven’t required those for this project so far. However, I will probably work with them on future improvements.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Big Red Jelly took what I already had and was able to implement it into the website I was looking for — a very minimalist, intentional, functional, efficient, and clean site. Overall, they’re upfront with what they offer, and they follow through.

How did Big Red Jelly perform from a project management standpoint?

Big Red Jelly is very responsive to comments and fixes, and they took the time initially to understand what I intended to accomplish, demonstrating outstanding listening skills. They weren’t trying to adapt my ideas to their skill set. Instead, they were trying to create the website exactly as I needed it.

Naomi is a pleasure to work with, and she’s very timely. From the start, she understood what we were looking for. She has also made great recommendations on how to make things better, demonstrating productive and helpful communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What Big Red Jelly has done, from top to bottom, has been specifically focused on developing every element of the site as I need it.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Every company has room for improvement. Although Big Red Jelly did a great job, it would have been great if they had anticipated some of the functionalities required for the site. For example, the PayPal button they implemented wasn’t cohesive with the rest of the website. Still, they were working within Wix, which had its limitations.

We started with a branding package, and after we finished working through the branding needs for our church, they helped us design a website that was exactly what we needed.

We had to main points of contact with a couple of other people throughout the process. One lead the branding side of our experience, and the other led the web design side.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have a website that we are thrilled about. It has all of the big features that we were wanting, and it feels just how we were hoping it would.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Most of the communication was over email, collaborative documents, and video calls. It was sufficient to get everything done on a great timeline.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The finished product was exactly what we needed, and they had a polished and professional process.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There were a couple of times where I would have liked more input from someone with more experience. Every employee has to be trained somehow, but it would be helpful to have some more active input from another more experienced employee in video calls.
