APS Intelligence is a London-based leadership advisory and organisational psychology consultancy, founded and led by Professor John Amaechi OBE and run by CEO Dr Peter Carroll. For 18 years, we've advised FTSE 100 boards and their international equivalents, including Fortune 100 and global enterprises, across Europe, APAC and the Americas.
Most organisations don't have a strategy problem. They have a behaviour problem: leadership teams that avoid the hard conversation, managers without the authority or support to act, and a gap between what leaders say and what people see them do. We work on that gap. Our principle is behaviour first; language catches up.
What we do: APEX, a retained executive partnership with same-day virtual access to Professor Amaechi and in-person support within hours in the UK and within 36 hours internationally; executive and leadership-team coaching; leadership and management development programmes, including STARs, our leadership inventory; culture diagnostics and advisory for boards, executive committees and HR functions, including crisis communication and responsible AI adoption; Top Team Offsites of up to three days; and keynotes, masterclasses and fireside conversations.
Professor Amaechi is a Chartered Psychologist (BPS) and Chartered Scientist, Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health and of the Association of Business Psychologists, and Companion of the Chartered Management Institute. He serves on the Mayor of London's AI and Jobs Taskforce.

Our Story
Professor John Amaechi OBE founded the firm in 2008 as Amaechi Performance Systems, after a career in elite basketball. As a psychologist, he'd seen that leaders' behaviour, not their speeches, decides how teams perform. Renamed APS Intelligence in 2021, we're a small London team with a network of expert coaches, working with boards and executive teams on four continents. We still work on one idea: behaviour first, language catches up.
