Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the co-founder of an e-commerce startup.

What challenge were you trying to address with Apptunix?
I hired them to build two applications for me.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Through a series of meetings over Zoom, we gave them exactly what we wanted to do. One of the applications was just a plain, Vanilla JS-based e-commerce mobile application. We just had to give them the idea of what we wanted to do and what we wanted to use it for, so they could customize it to our needs. Also, the application was built for iOS and Android.
What is the team composition?
This part was a bit challenging because of the pandemic, especially in India they were affected very badly. There was a little bit of shuffling of members, and we didn’t have one consistent team to work with. However, as soon as things went back to normal, we had one team to work with and everything went smoothly. Overall, I probably worked with up to 10 people.
How did you come to work with Apptunix?
I found them online. I currently reside in Dubai, and I wanted a company that was based in the UAE, making it easy to settle accounts and reach anyone in case we need support.
Also, Apptunix was actually one of three companies that we were considering. I was contacted by their sales representative in 2020 — he was a very nice guy and was personable and became the main reason why we went with them.
How much have you invested in them?
We’ve probably spent close to $30,000 USD.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in June 2020, and our engagement is still ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The key metric would basically be the fact that our app is now available on both the Play and App Store. I had a few demos with them, which looked fantastic, but it wasn’t until I actually saw the final app that I knew that this was all worth it. I can finally tell customers that they can download our app.
How did Apptunix perform from a project management standpoint?
The latest team has been performing really well. We communicate via Slack mostly, but we also used WhatsApp. Also, they’re always available when we need them to give us support or assurance.
What did you find most impressive about them?
What distinguishes them from other providers is their hands-on approach. For instance, when their owner found out about our frustrations in communication and the pacing of some tasks, he immediately got involved and moved things along — I really appreciated that, and it has made me want to continue doing business with them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I understand that small businesses go through a lot of tough times, but they should never stop improving. In this project, they need to do a better job of making sure that the client never feels like they’re lost or left out and knows who the project manager is.
Furthermore, they should make sure that whoever they assign as the project manager is empowered to make decisions and can execute, preventing any unnecessary back and forth.
Lastly, they need to be extremely detailed with their deliverables and have payments attached to clear and specific milestones. For some projects, we had already paid 70–80% but only got around 30% of what was expected. These little things make a huge difference because the last thing a client wants to feel is that the goal post has been moved.

We started receiving builds as per milestones, our feedback was quickly incorporated and after completion of milestones as per target dates, we finally went live. An iOS app, an android app, a landing page and an admin panel were the key deliverables and were completed on time with utmost quality.

A very experienced and supportive project manager has been assigned on our account who is the focal point of contact. In addition, we are in touch with lead developers both front end and back end.

Within a month of launch, we had over 3,000 downloads and received some 5 star reviews and ratings for our app and we see a lot of organic traffic with users interested in even paying for our subscriptions

What challenge were you trying to address with Apptunix?
We wanted to create an app to help community members make financial contributions to their community rotating savings and credit association we set up for them. Additionally, we wanted to develop and bring to market a robust, intuitive and cost-effective app to serve the purpose.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Apptunix developed and worked on UI/UX for an app that allows donators to contribute funds using PayPal. The app will have 10 sliding screens that highlight causes that the money will go towards. Another feature at the bottom of the screen will keep track of total donations. The app links back to the foundation’s website where a dynamic accounting system keeps track of the funds and contains more photographs and potential projects.

We reviewed the cost, schedule, and capabilities of companies that applied for the project, and Apptunix fulfilled those requirements.

We started working with them about seven months ago and are currently providing additional scope to the app.
