The India Game Developers Conference is India's premier Game Developers Conference. I work as the Project Manager handling the overall marketing and operations of the Conference.

For what projects/services did your company hire Appiness Interactive Private Ltd, and what were your goals?

We wanted to relook at our entire digital outlook and positioning. Appiness's ideas in how to approach this was what won them the pitch. We needed to reach a wider audience and engage with them regularly. While we had a big database, we were not able to communicate effectively with the gaming ecosystem.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Appiness did their research, identified the shortfalls and came out with long lasting sustainable solutions that would not only help increase engagement on our digital platforms but also ensure that the brand gets maximum traction and gets to position itself better.

Look at all out social media pages and redo branding Clean up our database by removing all duplicates and fake/ unused ids. Prepare emailers to send to our database regularly. Monthly calendar of activities Strategies for engaging more with the audience and push ticket sales for our conferences.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The emailers helped push ticket sales The Linkedin and FB camapigns had a conversion rate of nearly 30%. The creatives and posts on social media were much appreciated by everybody.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We had meetings every once in 2 days when there was an event. At other times, we met atleast once a week to analyse and plan the way forward.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are a one-stop-shop for all digital marketing needs. More than just servicing, they are constantly looking out for trends and other details on the industry and finding ways to engage better with our audience.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nothing to think of at the moment.

We had a kick-off meeting to discuss our goals and objectives. Thereafter, the team showed us mock-ups and wire frames for our site.. After detailed discussions/ deliberations, Appiness team designed and developed an informal website. They further updated content, services and created landing pages and so on...

A project manager was our point of contact and he was assisted by 2 full stack developers and a designer behind the scenes...

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We are seeing a huge increase in traffic and our incoming leads have soared to new heights in just over a month or so.. Everyone is loving the design aspects and navigation..

We had meetings with the Project manager and his team almost every alternate day.. Appiness Team was very proactive in suggesting the best of Tecnology and was swift in implementing the same..

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Appiness has delivered a world class site with many superior functions. They have also spent time to hand-hold our internal teams in assisting to learn on the back-end updations and so on..

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We all felt that their overall approach and execution were excellent. Keep up the good work!!!

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder of Electriphi, a fleet management tool. It simplifies the transition from conventional to electric vehicle fleets and provides analysis for energy costs as well as environmental impact.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Appiness Interactive?

As a startup, we were looking for a reliable partner to prototype our program. We needed a proof of model to produce an MVP so we could gauge the market fit of the product before pursuing its full-scale development.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

After engaging with our concept, Appiness Interactive produced mock-ups and an MVP, encompassing the UIs for both our main platform and its mobile component. This MVP is being deployed in production. There are quite a few pieces to it; they utilized technologies like Angular, MongoDB, Node, React, AWS Lambda, and Speed Software.

What is the team composition?

At first, it was just the design team. Although we started with two resources, there were eight people working with us at the peak. Right now, it’s about six. The advantage of working with a company like Appiness Interactive is that you can stretch and contract the team as needed.

How did you come to work with Appiness Interactive?

One of their members had contacted me on LinkedIn when I was the chief procurement officer (CPO) of another company. They were on my mind when I began this project, so I decided to reach out to them. 

How much have you invested with them?

The cost per person ranges from $3000–$5000 per month. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started in September 2018, and it’s ongoing. We follow more of a sprint model than a waterfall.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I don’t have any output analysis yet since we’ve just begun to quantify estimates and actuals. I imagine we’ll start to measure things more as we develop.

I’ve worked with a number of offshore teams, but, from a UI perspective, Appiness Interactive is probably one of the best. Their design skills are great, and they really provide value when it comes to taking a wireframe all the way to production.

How did perform from a project management standpoint?

The team is exceptionally accommodating and responsive. Members from the company top to bottom are involved in my project, and they really make sure that we’re being served. Even Visakh (Founder & CEO, Appiness Interactive) and Sunil (Co-Founder & Director, Appiness Interactive) attend my meetings sometimes, and they proactively try to address any issues that come up. We use JIRA, Confluence, and a few other tools to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

One of their keys to success is that the team feels a unique sense of ownership in their projects from the top-down. That ownership is crucial in writing great software and cannot be driven by the client.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not really. I’m usually vocal when something isn’t working, and they’ve been very accommodating of my requests. That’s what's most important to me. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My tip would be to start early with them in the design phase since that’s where they really shine. It’s also important not to be transactional. They’re very trustworthy, and I think that trust should go both ways.

I work as the product manager in a company building white-label technology for financial services and telecom operators.

We needed help augmenting our UI/ UX capabilities.

What were your goals for this project?

To get a strong design foundation for the new product that we’ve started to build, which targets the digital banking space.

We evaluated various vendors by looking at their work done in the enterprise domain.

They’ve been working on the UI/UX design for our platform. The project is still underway and will run until December 2019.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The experience of working with Appiness is good so far, both in terms of the quality of the deliverables as well as their adherence to timelines.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We’re operating in a tightly collaborative manner with the Appiness team. They’re working alongside our development teams and are co-located in our office.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We’re impressed by their empathy and understanding of our business and product, as well as their transparent workflows.
