AppEngine is a UK web application development company based in Thornaby, Teesside, working with clients across the United Kingdom.
We specialise in two things: taking over and improving web applications that someone else built, and building new ones from scratch.
A lot of our work starts with an application that is already live and already business-critical - the original developer has moved on, the codebase has aged, or the system has quietly become harder and more expensive to change.
We assess what's there, agree a scope, and take over: bug fixes, dependency and security updates, ongoing feature work, and staged upgrades where a rewrite isn't the right answer.
We also design and build new web applications, bespoke websites, and the integrations that connect them to the tools a business already runs: payment providers, CRMs, accounting systems and other platforms with an API.
How we work
- Every developer is senior. Around ten years of experience each, across ecommerce and enterprise applications.
- No account managers. You talk directly to the people writing the code.
- No fixed contracts. Support runs month to month rather than locking you into a long-term agreement.
- We start with the business, not the template. We'd rather understand how your business actually works before proposing what to build.
