Introduce your business and what you do there.

I work at Great Knives Manufacture CO., LTD. Our main product it’s the hand tool. I’m a coordinator, but I’m also involved with manufacturing, clients, and more.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Appar Technologies?

The privacy component of our product is a severe matter to our clients. They needed custom software, and we didn’t know how to build it.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We asked Appar Technologies to build a machine and its software to allow users to receive an ID code. At the time, our client was building their server, which made it challenging to get the information that we needed. We had to wait for them to re-enter the data, and this continued for a year.

Our software uses an API to interact with the client’s server. It immediately pulls the ID code into our laser machine, which will read it.

What is the team composition?

There were four people on the team. From our side, there was another person in touch with our customer, and I acted as project manager. We had two people from Appar Technologies: their associate project manager and a project manager/developer.

How did you come to work with Appar Technologies?

A friend of mine has a part-time job at Appar Technologies, and they introduced us to the company. We chose them based on trust since my friend, Appar’s owner, and I graduated from the same school.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $6,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our project began in February 2021, and it was completed in three months.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Once we received the software from Appar Technologies, we got it online and tried it immediately to interact with our customer’s servers. It was a success, and the experience was wonderful.

How did Appar Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

I communicated with Appar once a week, but it all depended on our client. We used Line to communicate, and they always answered immediately.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you need to find a group in Asia to help you build software, try to work with Appar Technologies.

Our company provide a job search app for candidates. I'm the CEO of the company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Appar Technologies, and what were your goals?

We have a Flutter app, but since the one created it left. So we hired Appar to help us fix bugs and maintain the app.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Appar's service is very agile and flexibility so that whenever we found random issues on our app, we can contact them and they would delivery fixes fast.

Our users use our Flutter app to search for jobs. The app sends requests to our backend API. We maintain the API will Appar help us maintain the Flutter app.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

3 people, including 2 PM and 1 software developer. But I think when we have more requests, they would connect use with more developers. We talked to the PMs and they pass our request to devbelopers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The request is great. Sometimes we change our API and cause the App broken. For most of the time, the bugs are not something hard to fix, but since it random and happens occasionally, so it's hard for us to work with vendors. However, Appar provide such flexibility and can reply to use fast and help us fix the bug.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We use Trello, Slack to do project management. Once we create a card on Trello, they will look into it and let us know the estimated time needed to solve the issue. Once I confirmed the time needed, they will start working on it.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We admire their ability to help us on random small issues fast.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not yet.
