Appanid was hired to create a very specific app to accompany the MapRoute website. This TripBuddy app allows users to record their scenic drives (GPS coordinates are saved at regular intervals) and import them as a route on the MapRoute website. From there, they can alter and share this route.Appanid only handled the app development.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Appanid has delivered incremental versions of the TripBuddy app. As the MapRoute site is still in its infancy, the number of app users is low as well. We don’t have any mentionable app downloads or feedback yet.The most difficult part of the project was to have the app track the user's location, even when the app was running in the background. Appanid has managed to get this working perfectly. The integration with the MapRoute website has also gone smoothly; they’ve followed my integration document closely.

How did Appanid perform from a project management standpoint?

I’ve experienced great communication, good feedback, and timely deliveries. We communicate via email and messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their perseverance is impressive. The first stage of developing this app has turned out to be quite hard. Appanid hasn’t given up, which has resulted in a well-working app. Their aftercare is top-notch as well.

I hired Appanid to rebuild Haikuary as a fully functioning mobile app, moving it from the old web version into a modern, stable Flutter application. The aim was to give users a smoother experience, preserve the legacy entries, and make the app easy to maintain and update going forward.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Appanid has handled the full rebuild of Haikuary. They’ve developed the mobile app in Flutter, set up the backend, migrated all legacy user data, and prepared everything for release on both the App Store and Google Play. They’ve also created the documentation and guided me through the deployment process so future updates would be straightforward.Appanid has rebuilt the entire app and backend from scratch. The old web version didn’t translate well to mobile, so they’ve redesigned the interface to feel clean and intuitive while keeping the spirit of the original project. They’ve also improved the way entries are stored and handled, making everything faster and more reliable. The backend has been completely re-engineered to support smooth syncing, user accounts, and long-term stability.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The new app runs smoothly, the data migration works well, and users can start writing straight away, which shows clear progress. A few issues have come up during development, but Appanid has fixed them quickly and with great communication. Everything has been resolved without slowing the project, and the final result feels stable, reliable, and easy to maintain.The clearest feedback has come from the users who’ve been with Haikuary for years. They’ve said the rebuilt app feels smoother, quicker, and much easier to use than the old web version. People have noticed that entries save instantly, navigation is cleaner, and everything feels more polished. The fact that many long-time users have returned and started posting again has been a strong sign that the new experience is a real improvement.We haven’t tracked detailed analytics during the launch, but we’ve monitored the basics. The initial download numbers have been healthy for a niche creative app, and the error rate has been very low after release. What has stood out the most is that users who download the app tend to keep using it, which shows the rebuild has created a far more reliable and engaging experience than the old web version.One other thing worth mentioning is how predictable everything has become after the rebuild. The new backend has been very stable, updates are straightforward, and I’ve had far fewer support issues from users. That ongoing reliability has been a strong indicator that the technical foundation has been done properly.

How did Appanid perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management has been steady and well-organized. Communication has been clear, updates have been regular, and any questions have been handled quickly. They’ve delivered the work on time, even with the few issues that have come up along the way, and the whole process has felt smooth and dependable.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The standout thing for me has been how quickly they’ve understood the spirit of Haikuary and translated it into a clean, modern app without losing its simplicity. They’ve combined solid technical work with thoughtful UI and have always been quick, clear, and calm when anything needs attention. That mix of technical skill and reliable communication has made the whole experience feel unusually smooth.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only thing that could have helped a little more would have been slightly clearer time estimates during a couple of the trickier stages, just so I knew exactly when to expect certain pieces. That said, everything has been delivered on time, and any uncertainty has been handled quickly, so it’s never become a real issue.
