appamass is an AI workflow engineering studio. We design, build and operate production-ready software that executes operational business processes instead of just managing them.
Every system combines three building blocks: deterministic software for fixed rules, AI agents for unstructured information and context-dependent decisions, and human-in-the-loop for judgment, approvals and exceptions. We start with the workflow, not the technology: we break the process down into tasks, data, decisions and handoffs, and use AI only where code is not enough.
Workflow cases include data capture from documents, invoice and purchase order verification, quote preparation, compliance and contract review, supplier comparison, support ticket preparation, master data cleansing and content production. Results from workflows in daily use: six weeks of data capture per document reduced to one week, and 3.5 hours of work per expert article reduced to 15 minutes of review.
We treat AI agents as software components: clear states, guardrails enforced in code, automated tests, evals and observability. Models stay swappable, data stays in the client's systems, and the first workflow runs within a few weeks. After go-live we operate the system, or hand over operations with monitoring, tests and documentation.
Founded in 2021 by Rainer Dechet, who has shipped more than 50 web, iOS and Android products since 2004. Stack: Python, Pydantic, LangGraph, Google ADK, TypeScript, React, React Native/Expo, PostgreSQL, Docker and Google Cloud.
