We hired their team to help edit and load our books onto Kindle Direct Publishing. We paid them to help set up PPC, SEO and provide a 1 month social media content calendar.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We did some price shopping and also read the company reviews. However, their sales team would call us on a weekly basis (sometimes daily) to make the sale so we ultimately went with them.

Initially we started with our finished book which required editing and uploading to KDP. Then we moved to set up Amazon ads and SEO. Finally, we were given a social media calendar with posts for every other day.

There were more than 5 people involved in the project from beginning to end from Amazon Pro Hub from finance, social media marketing, editing, etc.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The Amazon Pro Hub team wrote that we should expect to see $4000 worth of sales minimum in the 3 months we worked with them. We sold about $100-$200 worth of books.

Communication was abysmal from the beginning. There were too many cooks in the kitchen that we had to resend the same messaging multiple times to different individuals. They were never proactive in providing updates and would dodge calls/emails if they didn't have good news for us. Timeliness was also awful. The entire project was supposed to be 3 months total but our books were not even live within 3 months. It has been almost a year since we worked with them and we have not even got our initial investment back, much less $4000 in sales.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They manage to make a simple task incredibly difficult.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Honour the terms of the contract, increase communication, hire professionals or train their team members who know how to execute on the tasks given by clients.

I hired them to create a website for me.

What was the scope of their involvement?

AMZ Pro Hub provides book formatting and illustration services for us. The team has built a website for me and helped me distribute it primarily throughout my family, though it is also open to the public. 

Initially, I gave them my book’s manuscript and my vision of what I wanted to do. We went over the manuscript together, discussed it, and made some adjustments to the character creation. I provided them with photos of my grandchildren, and AMZ Pro Hub created the character and background illustrations. They sent each illustration individually for my approval. AMZ Pro Hub has also designed my book cover based on my manuscript.

From there, they started the marketing activities. AMZ Pro Hub helped me develop a strategy for the website and how to push the book through their platform and other advertising agencies to get as much publicity as possible after publishing. 

They’ve developed the website for me. AMZ Pro Hub has walked me through every step of the web development and gotten my approval for the content. The team will provide maintenance and hosting services for a year after launch. 

Users can see the book name and the character illustrations on my website’s home page. As users scroll down, they can read about my book and the journey of acceptance and inclusion it talks about. I have a biracial family, and the purpose of the book is to explain to kids how to love one another regardless of race or gender. 

The book uses lollipops as a metaphor for playing with different friends at school, and that’s represented on the website. The website also includes information about me as the author, including my history and experience in the field of mental health in the US and abroad. At the bottom of the site, there’s an option to sign up for email updates and contact information about myself. 

Currently, we’re in the final phases of the project. AMZ Pro Hub is updating illustrations because I made some character changes, and they’re also updating the verbiage on the website.

I work with nine teammates from AMZ Pro Hub. My primary point of contact is the project manager, and I’ve also worked with an illustrator and three others design team members. Additionally, AMZ Pro Hub has more individuals working in the background. 

How did you come to work with AMZ Pro Hub?

After I retired, I researched a way to leave something for my kids and grandchildren. Through an internet search, I found AMZ Pro Hub; they had the whole package and could provide all I needed instead of having to go to different places for publishing, illustration, and web design. 

Moreover, AMZ Pro Hub’s initial contact with me was excellent. They were customer-friendly and showed me the ropes from A to Z.

I started working with AMZ Pro Hub in December 2022, and the engagement is ongoing.

I've been able to show the website to my family and some friends to get feedback and see whether they liked the presentation and understood the content. I've gotten nothing but great reviews for the site; my friends and family were really impressed with the design and layout of the site. 

How did AMZ Pro Hub perform from a project management standpoint?

Although the project has exceeded the deadline, AMZ Pro Hub has been transparent with me, so I've never worried about the project's status. The project manager makes sure I'm always aware before they do anything; the team doesn't do anything without my approval. 

As for communication, we talk every other day through phone calls, emails, and text messages. They send me a text message letting me know when they're trying to get in contact with me. Overall, we have a very open line of communication. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

AMZ Pro Hub's biggest strength is customer service. I have experience in customer relationship management, so customer service is important to me; that's why I chose AMZ Pro Hub. They're always courteous, address me properly, and walk me through every step of the way. 

When I initially talked to AMZ Pro Hub, their customer service pulled me in. Ultimately, this differentiator keeps customers returning to a company in the long haul, and AMZ Pro Hub has done a wonderful job providing their service. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

There's nothing they need to improve; we're in a good place right now. AMZ Pro Hub should keep the professional level of service they provide, which will continuously improve their business.

Understand that AMZ Pro Hub is all-inclusive. They can offer publishing, illustration, marketing, website development, and distribution all over the English-speaking world. 

If you're new to publishing a book, it can be scary because there are many unknowns. As a result, you could spend a lot of money on each service when you can get everything in one place with AMZ Pro Hub. Moreover, they can offer a package deal, so the service won't cost as much.

How did AMZ Pro Hub perform from a project management standpoint?

The first project manager I was assigned stalled the work; I was promised my book would be published by December, but the project manager kept delaying it, or just didn’t reply to my messages. This went on for about a month until someone else took over the project. After that, the project took off; my new project manager is very helpful, responds to all of my requests, and has been able to get things done. We communicate via email and phone calls and use Basecamp for project management. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Once they do the job, they do it right. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their communication was very frustrating; I didn't mind them telling me that things would take longer, but I didn't appreciate it when I was told that someone would call me and they didn’t. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I signed a contract for an initial fee, but they didn’t tell me that I also had to pay for a Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) optimum account, and I wish I had known that from the beginning. Be aware of that, and know all of the fees involved and which ones are optional.

I thought about self-publishing for a while. Amazon was a great place to start, so I just searched online.

We worked together from September–October 2022. I opted not to do marketing with them because the cost exceeded $10,000.

Amazon Pro Hub did everything remarkably well. They made it easy for everyone to go on Amazon and buy my book. Overall, it was a smooth engagement.

They did a good job. We interacted with them through Basecamp.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team was fast and efficient.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They were adamant about hiring them for marketing services, but I just wanted to publish my book. They insisted and were rude at the end — they said we were done and hung up. I understand that’s a way for them to earn revenue, but it wasn’t a good way to keep business. Everything else was alright.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Anybody could do this; the process was pretty easy from start to finish. If you're just at the beginning of the writing process, they can help you with more steps, like editing.

The book was originally published and then taken down because of technological issues. It had to be republished later on.

I knew people who had published with Amazon before, so I knew that the capabilities were there. I contacted someone at Amazon, and they directed me to the right people. 

How much have you invested with them?

The first payment was $970.26 CAD (approximately $700 USD). When the book was republished, I paid $551.37 CAD (approximately $400 USD). 

What is the status of this engagement?

I worked with them between April–September 2022. 

The project took longer than expected because the book was published twice.

Describe the impact this engagement has had on your business.

The book has been selling on Amazon, and people are impressed with the book's front cover.

It was initially published, and everything was great, but then I discovered that two email addresses were being used. One was being used for the Amazon website, and the other was being used for Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP). 

One person suggested that I cancel everything and start over again, so I did that. When I canceled my Amazon website and inserted a new email address, it also canceled KDP, and the book was taken down. I spoke to KDP, and they investigated and found that they needed to republish it. KDP charged me more money to republish the book, and it took almost two months to get the book live again.  

How did Amazon Pro Hub perform from a project management standpoint?

When I tried to solve the issues I was having, it was difficult to get a straight answer from anyone.

We communicated via phone call and email. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The layout of the book is good, and it is very readable. They are able to publish quickly, and the turnaround time is good. They have fast delivery that people are very impressed with.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their communication is not always the strongest. Having general information upfront about the project and common mistakes would have been nice. 

I also wish they would have offered me some form of compensation for everything that went wrong during the process.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Amazon Pro Hub is helping me publish and market my books on Amazon, and they provide me with Amazon consulting. They also help me with content creation and editorial services related to those books, including proofreading, editing, and formatting. Moreover, they’ve helped me design the book covers.

Initially, I provided Amazon Pro Hub with my first book manuscript, and they sent me a questionnaire to fill out for them. After filling out the questionnaire, they explained the editing process and shared information about the publishing firm. Additionally, we talked about the format I wanted for my book, after which they started with the editing, proofreading, and formatting processes.

Amazon Pro Hub has already published one of my books, and we’re currently working on two others we’re soon going to publish on Amazon. They’re still in the editing stage. We’re also launching a website soon, so they’re currently working on its mock-up design. As for their marketing services, Amazon Pro Hub is currently developing a marketing strategy, which includes SEO, social media marketing, and Amazon optimization.

I’ve spent around $5,000.

I signed the contract with them in February 2022, but it took me a couple of months to start the project due to personal reasons. When I got back to them, they published the first book within a month. Our engagement is ongoing, and if I ever want to publish more books in the future, I’ll definitely contact them again.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Amazon Pro Hub has created very attractive and creative designs for my book covers, and I’m also very satisfied with their editorial and publishing services. Thus far, I haven’t seen any hard metrics regarding Amazon sales, but I expect to see an uptick once we launch the marketing strategy.

How did Amazon Pro Hub perform from a project management standpoint?

Amazon Pro Hub is very responsive. Whenever I send them a message on Basecamp, they respond within minutes, which makes me feel like they offer 24/7 services. In addition to Basecamp, we use Trello for project management and phone and email for communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Besides their excellent responsiveness, I really appreciate Amazon Pro Hub’s honesty. They’ve pointed out and improved some parts of my books that others didn’t notice before, which is very good because I wasn't entirely satisfied with those either.

Moreover, Amazon Pro Hub has a very good research team, so they do extensive competitor research and analysis. They’ve provided me with a very accurate competitor analysis report, which is very helpful.

No. They’re very good, and I don’t have any concerns about their performance.
