I’m the owner and operator of a full-service roofing and cladding contracting company, and we operate in northwest Canada.

What challenge were you trying to address with AMCON SOFT inc.?

We had a custom program designed by another vendor, but it was written using Adobe Flash, which recently became obsolete. We needed to rewrite the program using a system that wouldn’t be outdated soon and could be easily modified.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

AMCON SOFT rewrote our custom program in a new and easily modifiable platform. We emailed them the challenge, and they came up with a solution that was satisfying to our team. The whole process was done remotely. They also worked closely with our cybersecurity provider to ensure everything ran smoothly. 

Their development has been completed, but they continue to provide maintenance.

We worked with a project manager and two developers. 

How did you come to work with AMCON SOFT inc.?

Our IT specialist researched online for potential partners for this project. We spoke with five companies, and AMCON SOFT’s proposal was very reasonable and stood out, so we went with them. We liked their pricing, support package, and the product’s functionality. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $100,000 CAD (approximately $78,000 USD). 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in September 2020, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our program works very efficiently. I frequently use our search engine functionality to look for customers, and it has become a lot more streamlined. I can find a customer by partial address, street name, and name. AMCON SOFT has exceeded our expectations. 

How did AMCON SOFT inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re excellent at project management. We’ve encountered numerous problems that are unrelated to our software, but we’ve managed to continue working together, and everything has been relatively stable. We communicate through email and Zoom.

We have a 10-hour time zone difference, but they’ve remained to be responsive. If we need to meet through Zoom, they’ll email an invite within five minutes, and we’ll have a discussion. Often, they can resolve our issues during the call.

What did you find most impressive about them?

AMCON SOFT has successfully delivered solutions that improved our tool’s UX. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything. They are responsive, and they get things done.

Consider the time difference since they’re based in Ukraine.

I’m the CEO of a taxi company, focusing on the strategic development of our services.

What challenge were you trying to address with AMCON SOFT inc.?

We had two main objectives: optimizing my business’s operational efficiency through software and improving customer service and communications. They helped us achieve this through a custom software development process for optimization, which included a dispatch system for driver and customer management as well as various integrations to allow for financial management, financial modeling, and more. 

In terms of customer service, they were tasked with creating ways to loop in user feedback within the system. I don’t have an IT or development background, so I was counting on them to execute. This is a crucial product for the transportation industry, so I wanted to find the right team with strong experienced to help me reach my goals. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, they consulted with us about our goals and the process they would take to achieve them. Then, they prepared the product documentation and created a dispatch system as a SaaS solution. After that, they developed the ERP system for integration with the dispatch system. Once those systems were functioning together, we integrated and configured financial models, accounting models, and IP telephony. IoT functionality and multiple systems for payment were also integrated into the system at that point. 

From there, they created a model for our corporate clients and integrated it with our dispatch and ERP systems. Following the establishment of the corporate side, they built customer-facing apps for iOS and Android. In terms of technologies, they used C#, PHP, and native mobile app development tools.  

What is the team composition?

There were about 15 people working on the project at any given time. Among them were a consulting manager, project manager, business analyst, mobile developers, DevOps, and designers. 

How did you come to work with AMCON SOFT inc.?

It was vital for me to work with tech vendors operating in the transportation space. In terms of other criteria, I wanted to be in easy communication with their team. So, I started looking for regional vendors. After talking with one of my mates on the defense protection field, he recommended them to me as good consults. They had an office near me, so I reached out. 

How much have you invested with them?

The engagement cost about €300,000 (approximately $365,000 USD). 

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working with them since March 2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their work contributed to an increasing in the number of orders accepted by the taxi business. This influences the growth of financial indicators by more than 50%. We now have twice the amount of corporate customers as we did before. The company can now recieve direct feedback from customers, so we can offer better customer service than we could before. 

Overall, they helped me reduce operating costs. I can now spend less time focused on strategic planning and more time on running my business.   

How did AMCON SOFT inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

They were good, always performing on budget. Our timeline was extended after they proposed some changes in the consulting phase. If we didn’t accept those changes, they would’ve delivered on our intended deadline. The product was better because of their changes, so I wasn’t upset about the timeline at all.

We communicated over Skype. Communication was easy because we are located in the same time zone. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have excellent knowledge of the transportation industry and wanted to work with me as a customer. I was impressed with their creative ideas, most of them I wouldn’t have considered at the start of the project. They delivered more than we initially discussed and helped create a great project for my business. Their price points weren’t cheap, but they were definitely working the results. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything. The experience was good.

I’m the CEO of InnLogist, a trucking logistics app.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with AMCON SOFT inc.?

We had the idea to make some operational processes better in the logistics area but we needed more expertise. We were looking for someone to develop our trucking logistics app and provide consultation as well.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

AMCON SOFT helped us create the business logic and architecture of the project. After making and testing some hypotheses, they developed the web page for us and the mobile app.

They’re still supporting the app, making it better, and updating it when needed. They used Python and a mix of technologies. They used machine learning technology.

What is the team composition?

We started with seven people including a project manager, a frontend developer, a backend developer, a designer, QA, and an SMM specialist. Now we have up to 20 people working on the project.

There are 5-6 resources for our web and mobile app. There are two frontend developers, one project manager, one SMM specialist, some QA, and some copywriters.

How did you come to work with AMCON SOFT inc.?

Some companies were recommended to me and we made a tender to them. I chose AMCON SOFT because they had better experience and logistics expertise.

We've spent €500,000 (approximately $592,000 USD).

The project is better than other projects in the market. We’re testing the product with logistics companies now and they’re satisfied. We will be able to reduce expenses for logistics companies with this product.

We communicate via phone, email,  and visits to their office.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have good experience. We work together to make a good product and to make communication easier for logistic companies. AMCON SOFT is a good partner for us. We plan to continue working with them.

There’s nothing I’d have them change right now.

I’m the CEO of BroadTeam, a company that creates software for the broadcasting industry.

What challenge were you trying to address with AMCON SOFT inc.?

We had just created the company and we needed to outsource the development of our website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Since AMCON SOFT didn’t have broadcast industry knowledge, we had to explain our business and goals at the start of the engagement. From there, they developed our website and mobile app. We’re doing more technical software in B2B. 

They did full stack development and we use those stacks to trigger some workflows. The challenge was that the software needed to work with a Windows application as well as a web application. They created the software, as well as a database in MySQL and an API, so the system can access all the data. 

The team also developed players to take the video into the Windows and web application. They provided most of the technical backing for all of this. We had an architecture in mind but they were able to suggest a new architecture and how they’d like to do things to better help us. They did the back- and frontend development, while we did the design on our side.

They continue to help us with additional software and modifications.

We started with four people, but we now work with three developers.

How did you come to work with AMCON SOFT inc.?

We were looking for a company that wasn’t too big because we were a very small company. We looked at several companies and chose AMCON SOFT because we liked the way they interacted with us and we liked their previous work.

We’re very satisfied with the relationship with them. They showed us they can learn a new environment. When we have demos to do and projects starting, they will work late or outside business hours.

They didn’t just deliver the software but were always asking if they could do more or if we need additional help. We have a very close relationship with them now.

How did AMCON SOFT inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management has had a major point of improvement. At the beginning, they tended to keep the information for themselves to show they could do everything. Sometimes we didn’t hear from them for days. It’s much better now. 

We created some Skype groups and we communicate on a daily basis. It’s improved the process. We now know where they are each step of the way.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’re very happy with having them as our partner. They show daily that they care about what they’re doing.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There was a bit of a challenge with the language at the beginning but it’s much better now. Sometimes we have to spend a bit more time to explain technical things and to make sure they understand everything because of the language barrier. This is a normal issue with outsourcing. Since we’ve created the Skype groups, it’s much better.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It helps if you can visit them after a few months in-person to debrief what you’ve done, what you’re going to do in the future, and how you can improve. It helped our relationship to be able to visit them.
