Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the owner of an online juice bar. I provide fresh-pressed organic fruit and vegetable juices.
For what projects/services did your company hire All Fantastic?
Through wix, I created a website but was having trouble developing my online store. Using a search engine to find web experts to assist me with this small project, Wix sent Jon Toorock of AllFantastic.com a generated message asking for his expertise.
What were your goals for this project?
The goal of the project was to help me create my eCommerce section/online store page of my already developed website through wix.
How did you select All Fantastic?
Jon and several other website experts reached out to me through this initial request. He was the only person that did not instantly quote me on the website assistance I was requesting.
Most of the experts had sent me generated emails about the packages they offered, when all I really wanted was a portion of the website I created tweaked professionally and operating effeciently. After a call with Jon he sent me a contract.
Describe the project in detail.
The project Jon proposed was a full website even though I had already assured him I just wanted to a commerce page created.
What was the team composition?
He drafted a contract. We mutually agreed to work on website design, e-commerce while he also offered business consulting (nothing I really used). I had created a new business within weeks developed a page on WIX. I simply wanted to create a place people could order my products quickly and hassle-free.
Jon knew this and for months he guaranteed a website that he could embellish. Every time Jon reached out about my preferences for the page, my request was ignored or dismissed. It was like he wanted to develop my business in his eyes and not my own. He once sent me 3 example pages that were not what I asked for at all.
I gave him critiques and examples of what my expectations were just before a 3-week off-grid vacation he went on. and when he got back my project seemed to be put on hold. I never received anything further. Once I mentioned a refund, because I had finally decided to create a website on my own, he said he was almost done with mine. I never saw a page design, that was not what I had already created on WIX.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The website was never created. Over a period of time, Jon would ask for content. That he never used for the design of my page.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Communication was minimal. In the beginning he would often respond to messages fairly quickly, with 24 hours or so. Towards the end of our time "working together" I could barely get him on the phone or I would not hear back from him in emails till days later.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The enthusiasm they showed on the project is what drew me to them.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I never received a full functioning website in the time frame he assured me I would. 3 months after my payment for the website on WIX, after what was perceived as very minimal efforts to my site (the page was still in the same format I had created on WIX) I asked for a partial refund. At least $1500 of the $1800 I had paid him.
Jon never executed a functioning online store nor web designs requested. He refused to issue a refund stating he rebuild the entire format of the website, I had created on WIX. Which I am still at a loss about. Because he said this was already done by him, he only offered me $400.
The initial communication was seamless. However, the project was not finished. The team failed to deliver the website the client asked for.
