I’m the CEO of a mobile games company. I hire companies to make mobile games for me, and then I either sell them or manage them to make money.

What challenge were you trying to address with Algoryte?

We needed to build some Unity applications.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Algoryte has worked on prototyping, level design, and mobile game development for us. We usually create a prototype design document, a game design document, or a level design overview. Then, we see their output, and the test is laid within the prototype design document. Finally, Algoryte breaks it down into a weekly schedule.

What is the team composition?

We’ve talked to Saad (CTO); he hops on every meeting. We also speak frequently with Talha (Founder & CEO) about the financial aspect. Overall, we’ve worked the most with two senior Unity developers who typically work full-time on our projects.

How did you come to work with Algoryte?

I initially found them through Upwork. I worked with Talha as a developer, and he then transitioned to Algoryte. I’d been connected with them for a couple of years, so I asked them to work on level design in Unity or mobile game development projects.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent over $10,000 on the most recent project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working in January 2024 on this specific project. The other projects have been smaller work. We plan to work with Algoryte for many years.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We haven’t launched, but it isn’t Algoryte’s fault. The project they’re currently working on is out of our hands. However, their quality is above average. The prototypes they’ve done recently are more presentable than typical prototypes, and we feel comfortable showing them to clients.

Many people think they’re great developers, but they’re not. Meanwhile, Algoryte’s team is actually great. They put more effort into the UI design, making it more presentable for someone who doesn’t know about games.

How did Algoryte perform from a project management standpoint?

We manage the project by milestones. We don’t have an hourly rate where they tell us they’ve taken another 30 hours. Algoryte has agreed to an initial price, and they handle their internal stuff independently.

For the last six months, they’ve been consistently one week ahead of schedule. For example, we just started a new project extension. Algoryte completed all the tasks of weeks one and two in one week. At the start of week two, they only had one task left to complete.

Moreover, we communicate about deliverables with ClickUp and talk on Discord and Google Meet. If it’s a small issue, we use a Discord server, similar to how we’d use Slack, but Discord is free. Additionally, they give us updates with pictures every week, using Google Meet for our weekly meetings.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

The developer we’ve worked with most recently has done a fantastic job.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What I find sometimes with outsourcing studios is that they might have an excellent executive team that communicates well, but it’s rare to have developers who can speak like that. With Algoryte, our most recent developer can hold his own conversation. He doesn’t have trouble sitting on the call with us and doesn’t need Saad or Talha to be on the call for it to be effective. He’s an elegant communicator and does an outstanding job as part of the team.

Sometimes studios don’t do what they’re supposed to; that’s the bottom tier. The next tier is when they do what they’re supposed to but don’t communicate. Then, the tier above is when they do their job and are good at communicating, and the people in the lower jobs in the company can also communicate like that. Algoryte is in that third category.

Overall, many losers in the mobile game space just try to make a buck off you and don’t deliver a good product, but Algoryte does an excellent job. We’ve worked with many teams and studios, and we can easily recommend Algoryte. They’re a top-notch company in terms of quality and cost.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, they’re doing a great job. I’m a perfectionist in my space, so I could project things onto them, but it’s unnecessary.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I recommend requesting a weekly meeting. I’m pretty proactive because I come from a managerial background, so I need those meetings because I think they’re important. Since I was the one to ask for them, I don’t know if they’d offered them without me saying; I didn’t give them the opportunity.

In general, a client should be able to see them work in a meeting; that’s really powerful.

I'm the owner of a company that wholesale supplies door hardware and bath accessories to home builders, general contractors, and apartment complexes. As a side job, I'm creating and designing a video game.

What challenge were you trying to address with Algoryte?

I needed support to design and develop a video game. I sought Algoryte's support for 3D design, animation, and character rigging.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Algoryte is helping me develop a massively multiplayer online (MMO) and role-playing (RPG) video game. The game will consist of an open world where users conquer quests, kill enemies, join raids, and have battlegrounds. The game will also have multiple levels.

Initially, I started building the game with a different game developer whose team got offered a different job at a cartoon show. My developer remained in the project and guided me to find a game design team to work on 3D design and character animation.

Algoryte designs the video game's characters from scratch and uses AI generation and my guidelines. The team has delivered high-resolution graphics. Algoryte is working on character models and has designed all the game characters, six in total. I've scrapped one of the characters and asked Algoryte to create another one, which they're finishing up. Algoryte will work on testing the game afterward.

I work with four teammates from Algoryte, including Talha (Founder & CEO) and Noman (Chief Creative Officer). 

How did you come to work with Algoryte?

I found Algoryte through a Unity developers page on Facebook. I contacted about five different 3D game development teams, and Algoryte was the team I resonated most with. Algoryte has gamer teammates like me who knew exactly what I was looking for. Algoryte's team members had played the game I wanted to emulate and understood my idea. 

Another important aspect of selecting Algoryte was their excellent English communication skills. The team is in a different country, and I found a language barrier when speaking to other service providers. Initially, I talked to Talha, who sat me with the team to explain what I wanted. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with Algoryte around 5–6 months ago, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The process of working with Algoryte is super easy and smooth. The team is organized, and I feel I've become friends with some teammates. The characters Algoryte has developed, as well as the animation and rigging, are incredible. I requested low-poly resolution graphics because it's a big game, and when I saw the characters' high-resolution graphics, I was blown away. Algoryte has an excellent team at a very reasonable price.

I've shown the characters to high-level colleagues, including a friend who is a Grammy-nominated creative director, who was astonished and impressed by Algoryte's work and price. Algoryte's work is top-class. I've recommended Algoryte to my brother, who is looking to create a movie with custom characters of all the playing clips he has from playing the game Counter-Strike. 

How did Algoryte perform from a project management standpoint?

Algoryte meets deadlines and is flexible about budget. In one instance, I noticed one of the characters required too much work, and the team adjusted it. Algoryte is great with deadlines, and I'm usually the one who misses actions because I also attend to my personal business.

We communicated initially via Facebook and then via Discord since it's hard to have meetings simultaneously because we have a 10-hour time difference. Algoryte is communicative when they have issues and constantly communicates with me.
Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I want to highlight Noman's work. He's the best, and I'm so appreciative of his work. Noman really cares about my personal well-being. For instance, when I was dealing with a personal problem with an employee from my company, I asked Algoryte to pause the project. My employee got diagnosed with cancer, and after I took care of that cluster, I messaged Noman, explaining what happened. He called me even though he was on vacation and out with his friends. 

He didn't have to do that and could've just waited to answer me on Monday or during regular business hours. But instead, he called me, which stood out for me. My personal business was started by my dad and has been operating for 50 years, and this kind of thing makes customer service stand out. I can't brag enough about Noman's work. He's a great guy that cares about his job and is detail-oriented.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Algoryte distinguishes from other service providers because of their talent, price, and customer service.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything Algoryte can improve on — they're great to work with. 

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I recommend potential customers to try to be awake when Algoryte is awake if you have a time difference with the team to get optimal engagement.

I’m the former head of marketing for Wood couture, a wood manufacturing company. We work with designers and specialize in creating hotel and hospitality furniture.

What challenge were you trying to address with Algoryte?

Our owner was a visionary; he wanted to create a Meta space for interior designers to highlight their work and display limited-edition items.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Algoryte provided AR/VR development services. We provided a base to start from. They developed the project using Unreal Engine.

For example, we had one designer who specialized in creating unique mirrors. The platform allowed customers to come to the Meta space, see the mirrors, and buy them for the hotel, where they could visualize them in the Meta space. Ultimately, the mirror would become an NFT, increasing the value.

What is the team composition?

We were in contact with 4–5 teammates, including a developer, a project manager, and the owner.

How did you come to work with Algoryte?

We worked with another company before them, and it was horrible. They created a space based on a template and didn’t even customize it. We came to Algoryte because we didn’t get the desired results.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $3,600.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them in February 2023, and the engagement lasted four months.

We were happy with the results. Algoryte did an incredible job; they mixed and matched templates to create something unique, beautiful, and surreal. 

How did Algoryte perform from a project management standpoint?

The team worked directly with us and was very hands-on and considerate. Moreover, they were patient. Even when we responded late, they caught up with the timeframe.

They created a WhatsApp group; we could communicate real-time feedback through the chat. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were excellent. Their feedback was impressive, and the team was very timely and flexible. They showed us different options and went back and fixed them with no additional cost if the owner didn’t like them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, we were the problem. The owner kept changing his mind, but Algoryte remained great. I would work with them again.

You should know exactly what you want and provide many detailed examples for the look and feel.

I'm an executive at a company that works on different types of projects, including application development, business consulting, and business development. We're a small company in Maui, Hawaii, that has been operating for 15 years.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Algoryte?

To give some background, we had a fire in Lahania, Hawaii, in August 2023, which caused a lot of damage. The fires happened because there wasn't enough water for agriculture, and the grass got very dry and caught fire. A friend of mine had an idea to implement a large-scale desalination system powered by solar panels. For every two gallons of ocean water, you get one gallon of fresh water and one gallon of concentrated salt. 

We built a pitch presentation for this idea and needed support creating an animated video with 3D modeling of what the area would look like with native trees after implementing our solution. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I sent Algoryte Google Earth images of the town before the fire that were publicly available and also images of the city burnt. Algoryte created an animated video that showed a camera panning over the ocean coming into Lahaina, showing the burnt town and the microgrid and solar panels being built. The video continued to show the desalination plants popping up and panning up to the mountains with animations of trees growing and the burnt areas of the city being greened.

I provided Algoryte with a list of trees native to Hawaii, and the team researched them. The software package Algoryte used found the specific elements of those trees, and the team worked in an iterative process. We had two sessions where Algoryte shared preliminary work and made changes based on our comments. The same tools they used for metaverse rendering were the ones they used for our project.

I worked mainly with three teammates from Algoryte, including Talha (CEO & Founder), the CTO, and an animation specialist.

How did you come to work with Algoryte?

I initially searched for companies on Google and contacted a service provider in California that stopped answering me for several weeks. I then posted the project on Upwork and received 2–3 responses, two of which were unable to meet the project's scope. I found Algoryte and explained our project. Although the team's primary business is in metaverse development, they agreed to work with us after explaining our project to Algoryte's founder.
How much have you invested with them?

We spent $500 on this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Algoryte for two weeks in October 2023.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Algoryte delivered a 3–4 minute long animated video in mp4 format. We've shown the video in 4-5 presentations to leadership professionals with the hope of inspiring them to build this desalination plant. We were looking for a powerful and inspiring video, and Algoryte accomplished it. The team replicated our town from Google Earth, delivering a realistic animation.

How did the company perform from a project management standpoint?

Algoryte met deadlines and stayed on budget. We changed the scope halfway through the project, which caused the budget to increase since we asked the team to add extra elements to the animation. We communicated with Algoryte via Zoom meetings, WhatsApp, and Upwork.
Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I want to highlight Talha's work. He listened to my project and adapted to work that wasn't in their central wheelhouse. I wanted to ensure I worked with legitimate companies and was impressed by Talha's education and experience. I had video interviews with him and knew we were getting high-powered talent for a very accessible cost.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Algoryte's project management and communication were excellent. The final product was outstanding, and the video worked smoothly. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

We were confused about time zones at times, and our meetings were scheduled at different hours. However, this was a minor thing considering the overall project. 

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I recommend customers allow Algoryte to guide them through their process because they brought their team to our first meetings so they could ask questions about the project directly. That worked out well for us.

We needed help with developing our game.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?
Algoryte helps us with Unity mobile game development. Although I understand that they've used some items from certain sources, the team has developed the game engine from scratch. This has included developing an entire database and backend system for handling multiple players, point scoring, and trading within the game. Besides Unity, they've also used Photon Engine for server access.

What is the team composition?
I've worked with five teammates from Algoryte, who have been involved in different parts of the project. Their team includes Talha (Founder & CEO), Saad (Head of Game Development), a game designer, and a couple of graphic artists.

How did you come to work with Algoryte?
We originally found them on Fiverr. We had an initial discovery meeting with them, during which we described the concept and some ideas of what we wanted to create and fulfill. Algoryte seemed to be a team with which we could easily communicate. Additionally, their portfolio reflected that they were quite creative; that's why we chose them. We quickly outgrew Fiverr as a model of working, so we ended up going directly with them to have face-to-face interactions.

What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in November 2022, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We haven't launched the game yet. However, things have gone very well with the game during the initial performance testing. We have a small cohort testing the app externally, and the results are very promising.

Overall, we've found that Algoryte has delivered high-quality work, as we haven't encountered bugs or issues that indicate poor-quality development. From the start, the team was really quick to identify issues and respond quickly to correct them.

How did Algoryte perform from a project management standpoint?
Algoryte is a very responsive and capable team. Ours is a big project, so there have been some aspects that require flexibility project management-wise. Still, Algoryte has always managed to work within those changes and respond to some quite tight deadlines.

We communicate via Google Meet, text messages, and email. We also use Google Docs to manage the project. Algoryte uses proper project management tools on their end, but we don't have access to those.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?
Talha has been very good and supportive. This has been quite a complex project with a lot of back-and-forth and many moving parts. Still, Talha has worked well. Additionally, Saad and the development team have done a very good job delivering according to our expectations.

What did you find most impressive about them?
The key aspect of our engagement is that Algoryte has understood our vision and passion for the project. As a result, they've acted and operated as if it was their own project.

Are there any areas they could improve?
If anything, it would have been great if we had worked together in real time on some things rather than talking about them after they occurred. Being on a call during the creative process would have helped in some circumstances. Still, that hasn't been essential for the project.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
During the first conversations, set out the key milestones for the project and ensure you're clear about your objectives and timelines. By doing so, Algoryte will be the perfect partner to work with.

We are in search of Unreal Engine Developer/indie studio to create a Vertical Slice of our Real-Time Strategy (RTS) game. Your core task will be to convert the Game Design Document (GDD) into a Vertical Slice for one of our game's levels. The developer is expected to work on the task independently with guidance from our side. 

The Vertical Slice is needed within a predefined two/three months' timeframe. We need experienced developer/Indie Studio with previous experience in development of similar game, so we get gain credibility of the work expected. There will be a possibility of intensive future collaboration on the project.
