New to both branding and graphic arts, all we knew going in was that we needed a logo. However, we learned a great deal about the the concept and process, and how it can and should be used, via Greg's patience and knowledge. After a very thorough and detailed onboarding web conference, he then came back the following week with preliminary design concept in a sort of mood board format.

For this, we were immediate encouraged and had nary a redirect to offer. Then a week later we were presented with a full stylized concept, including both the icon and corresponding fonts. We were very pleased with only one slight suggestion, that he said happened to be how he had it originally.

Two weeks later we given a complete style guide, that we could provide to future artist who might work with our company outlining our concept, ethos, standards, as well as several versions/layouts of the logo and word marks, so that for whatever orientation, spacing, or version that might be called for, we had.

I could tell from their portfolio (why that wasn't an option for why I chose them is odd) that their aesthetic leaning, so to speak, was what we were looking for. So then it probably shouldn't have been as surprising it was when they pretty much nailed it form the jump.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Alchemy Design could have done differently?

I think constructive criticism is vital, but unfortunately, I don't know enough about the industry and its standards to speak on this with any authority. I got what I asked for and ahead of schedule - what's more to say? Oh, they were super polite and supportive too.
