How did you select AIRA Consulting Pvt. Ltd. and what were the deciding factors?

We were looking for a company who can formulate and implement policies and develop a positive culture in the Organisation with training, one to one dialogues , MRMs etc. Reference checks were carried and after meeting Mr Shrinivas and Mr Kulkarni we were convinced with their approach .

Assessment of employees, be part of KRA and JD compilation . Setting up SOP's at the plant as well as HO. Be part of the MRMs . Training schedule for new employees. Assessment of core skills and advisory on scale up operations

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

The initial engagement was for 18 months . we continued for the arrangement for another 18 months as the company is in expansion mode. Success in selection and assessment of core positions , managers and also supervisory level employees. Advise on challenges we faced due to rural area based operations. Formulating labour contracts etc.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

initial change was a challenge with our team, but gradual progress on MIS and reporting helped us to know the work discipline which was missing in our team and Aira were instrumental in enforcing the discipline in various senior as well as middle management.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The most uniqueness comes from their vast experience in dealing different companies across and the experience in man management and practical direct approach to the point ,with relative industry examples and success .

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Surely , Mr Shriniwas is blunt in pointing out even higher management working and change at every level percolates down stream. Their engagement has been 100%. They do not work as consultants but work as part of the company's management face.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO and partner of Nichem Solutions. We’re into specialty products, which are all chemicals. We aren’t a very large organization, and we’ve just begun operations. My partner is from the software industry, and I’m from the chemical industry. We both have previously worked for multinational organizations.

What challenge were you trying to address with AIRA Consulting Pvt. Ltd.?

When we started the business in 2014, we didn’t have any assistance in our organization. Since we both came from professional backgrounds, we realized that unless the necessary systems were in place, we weren't going to grow or survive.

What was the scope of their involvement?

AIRA has helped us develop, set up, and standardize our production, accounts, and HR systems. All of these haven’t existed before. They’ve also helped us with a similar system to an ERP system that tracks the performance of our employees, organization, and assets.

It has always been a challenge for a smaller organization, specifically one in India. In this country, the systems are often set up but aren’t rigidly followed. Once the systems are in place, AIRA’s job is to ensure that they're followed.

For the two years after they set up the systems, AIRA essentially ensured that all of our people were properly trained on the systems. Now that the systems are in place, they’re more into strategy support for us to take the business to the next level.

How did you come to work with AIRA Consulting Pvt. Ltd.?

One of the marketing people from AIRA called us, and we set up a meeting. When they came and gave us the presentation, we saw good value in their offerings. In addition, AIRA’s stakeholders had excellent professional backgrounds and degrees. We thought that they had merit and would help us in standardizing our systems in the business.

How much have you invested in them?

Our contract is about $1,000 per month.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in 2016, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

AIRA has given us up to 200% growth over the last 3–4 years. They’re excellent at strategy support, which is something that we appreciate. AIRA has continuously given us strong guidance. They’ve made us more professional and communicate information about our goals and systems effectively. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

AIRA is extremely good with strategy planning, and they’ve become our family and mentors. We’re very satisfied with our relationship with them and their offerings.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We’ve been talking to AIRA about their junior teammates because they definitely need to bridge things between them and the support staff.

We've continued working with AIRA for strategy. However, we’re also working with a few more consulting agencies who offer us support in other areas that we aren’t very strong in.

Any advice for potential customers?

The first thing people should have is an interest in setting up all their systems. Then, the engagement with AIRA will start and flourish. Once the systems are in place and followed, the next step will be the strategy. 

I believe AIRA offers an ERP system, and they’re also going to offer the manpower placement service. Overall, I think they’re trying to offer an all-encompassing solution to small organizations. Their strength has been supporting small businesses where professionalism is either missing or half-hearted.
