I was the founder of an online tutoring platform.

What challenge were you trying to address with Aimform Kft.?

We needed someone to develop a web app.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The work they provided for us was basically full stack development from start to finish. They put everything together including the full web app, database, and the front- and backend. They built a beautiful MVP but we didn’t get anywhere because we couldn’t raise the funds.

What is the team composition?

We mainly worked with Adam (CEO).

How did you come to work with Aimform Kft.?

I may have found them on Upwork. At the time, he was really young, but it was obvious that he was a rockstar developer. He was one of those guys that can build anything in a couple of days, and that’s what I was looking for.

How much have you invested with them?

Overall, we spent anywhere between $30,000–$40,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from August 2014–February 2015.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The metrics we used were basically the app’s usability, and we went out and did an actual pilot with live students and teachers. The app worked and people were using it, but it wasn’t a great adoption.

How did Aimform Kft. perform from a project management standpoint?

They performed amazingly, and the partnership was fun. It was really engaging and we remained long-distance friends.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were just impressed with Adam’s insane knowledge. In fact, after finishing our product, he really wanted to study COBOL and old languages to learn more about the origins of computer programming. It was hard to find people who knew that much at his age.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We didn’t work long enough to find out about that, so I can’t really answer that. As far as we’re concerned, everything he did was great, and it exceeded our expectations. I think Adam was also a graphic designer, so he can design things that looked aesthetically pleasing. Even though we didn’t employ a web designer, he did everything else and the app looked cool.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I’d give the same advice when working with anyone — set your goals and have a solid project plan in place. Additionally, you should also know your funding limits.

They helped us with the development of our custom website and web apps. Some of the technologies used include Node.js, JavaScript, MongoDB, MySQL, and React.

I worked with the founder and two programmers.

I had worked with the founder previously and knew they’d provide quality work.

We invested between $10,000–$49,999.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from May 2017–May 2020.

Their work is of high quality, and our expectations were met or exceeded.

How did Aimform Kft. perform from a project management standpoint?

We used several tools including Trello, Notion, and GitHub as well as communicated via Slack with chat, mail, and calls. They delivered on time and within budget.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have both technical skills and design understanding, which is important.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything.

They’re a mid-size software shop that can help you with your project; you can’t go wrong.
