The project consisted in the implementation of an interactive television system in subsequent hotels of the chain (including the delivery of TVs) and the development of a dedicated application for a room tablet that provides interactive multimedia content, selected hotel services (room service, telephone, housekeeping) and allows guest to control the automation of the hotel room. 

The hotel guest has access to an integrated, interactive environment in his/her room, which provides a content from various sources (TV streaming, hotel marketing, hotel services), allows sharing his/her own mobile apps on the TV (Chromcast) and allows interaction with room functions (room automation).

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The measure of success were the ratings of the system's users – hotel guests. The implementation in subsequent hotels was conditioned by positive evaluations and the supplier's ability to modify and modernize the system in accordance with the development of our needs and technological changes. The supplier met these requirements, which was the basis for continued cooperation

The running of the project should be assessed positively. All phases from planning, through delivery, installation to commissioning were supervised and monitored very efficiently. The coordination of the work proceeded without communication or time problems. The company has always tried to adapt to the changing conditions of the project and find the best solution to the problem from the investor's point of view.

We have successfully worked with Ailleron for over 10 years on developing and supporting our corporate and individual clients digital banking platforms – Pocztowy24. At the time we wanted to launch new Internet Banking Platform to service our business and individual clients. It should also fulfill very specific needs of housing communities administration companies being very important segment for our bank.

One such company can manage several hundreds of communities being separate legal entities. It required to develop dedicated solutions allowing possibility to work in the contexts of all serviced communities and to process multi-customer bulk transfers.

P24 is also available in 3 language versions – Polish, Ukrainian and English. Recently we ordered to upgrade the whole platform built in Vaadin framework to the more recent framework version that required to upgrade many multiple libraries and utility software.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• We started our cooperation over 10 years ago in waterfall methodology and a fixed price contract. During our long-term cooperation, we have built mutual trust and satisfaction thus recently we changed to Agile methodology and time & material co-operation.
• The best example is recent upgrade of Vaadin framework done purely in Agile by the team of full stack developers with involvement of the bank in all SCRUM ceremonies that give us the continuous access to the results of their work and allow project progress monitoring. Technologies used by Ailleron are Java, Vaadin, .Net, Angular, Kotlin, Swift, Rabbit.

They use Jira to manage the project and always keep us informed. We have weekly meetings where we prioritize tasks. We also have daily meetings with the project team, who are always good at presenting their current accomplishments. When it comes to communication, we use Teams and mail.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I appreciate that we have weekly follow-up meetings with the Ailleron management team. We always feel like they’re looking after us. When we don’t want to give the developers feedback directly, we can tell management. Moreover, their team members can connect with us from the start and work as if they were part of our company. It is a true partnership and goes a long way in our ability to get our product to market and succeed.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Ailleron could have done differently?

No. They know their business, and working with them is a pleasure. We are happy with Ailleron's quality product and entrepreneurial approach. They're responsive, hands-on, and prompt in project management.

The delivered solution is implemented and conducted in the T&M model. The project covered migrating legacy system functionality to an entirely new custom-developed solution. The currently developed system is based on the Agile methodology, so the entire development process is more flexible and efficient. We work in several SCRUM teams, inspired by the culture of the implemented "Spotify model" as an excellent example of agility.. Technologies used are Angular, Node JS, TypeScript, Module Federation, WebPack, TypeScript, SCSS, BEM, Hibernate, Java, Spring, .Net, OKD Open Shift, Jenkins, Nexus, Docker, Gerrit(Git), SonarQube, Fortify, PostgreSQL DB, Oracle, MongoDB and IBM MQ.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

A complete solution that is operational and serves its purpose. Currently, several production modules have already been implemented throughout the credit process. We serve to carry out loan applications for several selected types of applications; we have access to information on entities such as documents, financial statements, products, and the security of the company that applies for credit as well as its commitment and collateral.

We are constantly working on the Workflow tool to manage the "undertaken case" and various modules. The usability and functionality of the system vastly improved due to the implementation of the User Experience methodology in the design process. Additionally, using a Design System makes the entire system coherent and helps implement new functionalities faster.

We use Jira/Confluence to manage the project, and they always keep us updated. We work in Scrum, focusing on the iterative and incremental approach. Teams of Ailleron and Bank employees work in sprints lasting two weeks, consisting of planning, executive work, review, and retrospectives. We focus on continuous improvement of the process and delivering the most valuable product following the requirements of the Product Owner.

Because we have several scrum teams, we use Nexus, which helps our joint teams provide a complex product without dedicating consistency or quality, and without adding unnecessary complexity or departure from the main assumptions. We communicate via skype/Teams. The team is always eager to present its accomplishments from past sprints.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The innovative and Agile project approach makes Ailleron an invaluable partner for our bank. Their teams instantly respond to the changing needs of our bank. High-quality of their work, flexibility, and timeliness in delivering products following the requirements of our Product Owners have repeatedly contributed to the success of many of our projects. We are delighted to have worked with them and look forward to our future projects.

I can’t think of anything they need to improve.

I’m the head of product for Raiffeisen-Leasing GmbH, one of the leading financial services companies in Austria.

What challenge were you trying to address with Ailleron?

We wanted to address our digital sales options for clients and partners. We were investing heavily in digital leasing services for our partners, and we wanted to improve that area, so we needed someone to analyze our UI/UX.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, we had a kickoff meeting with Ailleron and tasked them to perform a UI/UX analysis and audit of our leasing calculator. To do this, we gave them links to our calculator, and they came back with a protocol to implement all their suggestions using one of their tools.

Ailleron has also provided us with a summary of all their findings, prioritizing the actions needed to improve our calculator. Moreover, they’ve offered to perform a workshop to go through that prioritization.

We’ve worked with Julita (Head of Business Development in Western Europe), Patrycja (General Manager of UX Lab), Piotr (Senior UI Designer), and Jakub (Senior UX Designer).

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Although we haven’t implemented Ailleron’s suggestions yet, we’re highly satisfied with their findings. Some of their suggestions are very new to us, as well as very accurate.

How did Ailleron perform from a project management standpoint?

Ailleron has been very professional and organized. We’ve always had an agenda, so we know what’s coming next. Moreover, the documentation of their findings has exceeded our expectations. We use Microsoft Teams and email to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Ailleron is very fast, and I’m very impressed with their documentation. On top of that, they’re very accurate and precise, and they’ve done a great job overall. They’ve been very specific and provided us with valuable insights.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Ailleron’s work is perfect, so I can’t see any areas of improvement for them.

Providing our hotel with new set of TVs for the rooms with iLumio TV system. It gave us opportunity to allow our Guests to receive direct messages from us, check their bill, browse through our offers. Ailleron also developed an iLumio app for our hotel, which brings us possibility to reach the Guests also outside the Hotel and encourage them to visit us.

It makes them able to check-in without the need to visit reception. It works directly with the PMS and our locking system, so the Guest can open a room just via this app. The whole work was accompanied by a set of trainings, which were very proffesional and effective.

Greater knowlege of our Guests about our offers, which is accomplished thanks to the technologies brought by Ailleron. We see that they allow the Guests to discover our services more easily and as a result increase the sales.

I'm the Head of Planning in a financial advice company in UK.

For what projects/services did your company hire Ailleron S.A., and what were your goals?

Our problem was that suitability letter, bespoke financial advice recommendations, were written manually by analysts. Our goal was to streamline the process where analysts have an interface that takes them through a logic journey and as a result a client-facing suitability report can be generated automatically based on the data provided by our analysts.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I was previously aware of Ailleron being a major/global player in the field, specifically in banking, but we thought our need is compatible with their skillset and we engaged in direct talks.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

They presented us with two solutions. One was based on a proprietary Business process management system, which would allow us to build the project up beyond our initial need of automating client facing reports. The second option was a low-cost focused solution that would be less scalable but cheaper and still able to solve our most basic need which was manipulating word documents essentially, based on user input. This one was based on Apache POI.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

There were 4 devs people from a subsidiary that had the proprietary logic app, but above that we had a main contact with the Ailleron project manager and also when required, the GM of Ailleron was also present.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

First of all, even the initial negotiations and Proof of Concept stage helped us to crystallize in our heads what we need and how it can be done, it was a very educational process. The initial deliverables were on time and we had frequent contact to iron out any issues. The project is ongoing.

Communication was frequent and we never had to wait for them to come back to us, if anything it was the other way around - very responsive. All deadlines were met, they proactively sought out alternative solutions to offer us some options in terms of cost/deliverables. They were willing to meet us face to face in the UK to get to know each other better and to talk in person. Very good comms.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their client-focused approach and flexibility in terms of solutions offered are great. Responsiveness and willingness to accommodate (for example when we couldn't progress as per the agreed timeline due to other issues in the business).

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not an issue for us but I'd suggest having some UK presence - although they were willing to meet us in our offices in the UK anyway.
