Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the diving concierge and marketing manager of Solo Buceo Dive Shop, based in Cancun, Mexico.

What challenge were you trying to address with AdWEJ?

The tourist business we’re working with takes a commission of 35–40% per client, so it was very important for us to lower that. We started developing our own platform, with ads, a booking engine, and everything else.

What was the scope of their involvement?

AdWEJ developed a website with a booking engine, and they’re working on its SEO. We’re running PPC ads on Google, and we also tried social media advertising, but it wasn’t right for our kind of service. We’re posting pictures and other content on our social media, but we don’t use it as a selling platform.

What is the team composition?

I’m working with an account manager and developers. I also have contact with two of their higher-level people.

How did you come to work with AdWEJ?

I went to college with one of their associates, and I’d known him for 10 years.

How much have you invested with them?

Monthly, we pay them around $1,500 for marketing services, and our Google Ads spend is another $1,500.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with AdWEJ around July 2016, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We earned $15,000 in September 2019, and we went to $25,000 for the same month in 2020. Even with the new restrictions, we have to deal with, our numbers are going up. We have an 800 number just for the website, so we know where inquiries are coming from.

How did AdWEJ perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re always on top of the schedule, and they usually deliver early.

What did you find most impressive about them?

As a marketing manager, I get a lot of calls from agencies in Cancun giving me generic offers for social media management, but they can’t tell me why they think they can help me when I ask them about it. AdWEJ gives me exact analytics on how our ads are doing, so I always know where I should be spending more. They also installed a heat map software on the website to see which parts were catching people’s attention. I can use that information to make better decisions.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They’re specific on the information they give me, but I always want more detailed reports.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Clients should listen to them. They’re in tune with what people are looking for, and they have a lot of experience in their field.

I'm the marketing manager for a dive shop in Cancún, the shop has over 40 years in the market

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire AdWEJ, and what were your goals?

Over the last couple of years, the travel agencies in Cancun started to eat all the market and the fees they charge are ridiculous, over 40% of commissions for them. We needed a strategy to turn this around and start bringing our own customers.

SOLUTION

How did you select AdWEJ and what were the deciding factors?

With a strong PPC and SEO strategy, we managed to bring our cost of sales down to 13%. They developed our own booking engine and we started to see the customers coming directly, its great when we are fully booked and we can say "Sorry we are full" to a travel agency.

Plus, the tracking systems that they use allows us to be on top of our game every time, we know specifically where the income is coming from, this allows us to spend more where the business is better.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and campaigns.

We starting re-doing the website, we were in a word press platform and it was not working at all. The second step was building up the campaigns, this took a bit more than 2 weeks.

After this, we had a couple of training sessions to learn how to use the call tracking tools and the booking engine they developed. In less than a month we were up and running.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We have the Account manager and the web developer on regular basis and meetings with the strategic consultant every month.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The most important thing for us was to stop spending a ton of money on social media and redirect those resources to google, where we get the main revenue from.

They have the ability to report exactly whats going on with the account which allows us to decide where to spend more money. From a 45% commission fee to the tea ver agencies to 13% sales cost to get our own clients.

We have weekly meetings to check on the results and changes of the campaigns and a monthly meeting to decide the next steps to follow: budget, promotions, web developing strategies, etc.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The ability to control the spend and to track the conversion sources. this is key to make better decisions

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I wish I could get more reports, the information is so good I can't get enough of them.

I’m a marketing director for an airport transportation company.

What challenge were you trying to address with AdWEJ?

Getting to market was our biggest challenge. Cancun is really competitive in terms of airport transportation. The permissions to open a company are given by the government. We needed help with getting new clients.

What was the scope of their involvement?

AdWEJ helps us with SEO, SEM, UI/UX designs, conversion rate optimization, and data analysis. We had to learn that it doesn’t matter what the others are doing. It matters what we do, how we analyze it, and how we react in terms of that data.

I work with three people on their team including a project manager.

How did you come to work with AdWEJ?

I worked with their CEO at another company. When I started my business, I remembered he was really good so we called him.

We’ve invested between $200,000-$999,999.

We started working together in July 2012, and the work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

All of their business intelligence and consulting is really helpful in improving our site and increasing our conversion rate a lot more. The conversion, bounce, and click-through rates are the biggest metrics. We’re happy with the results.

How did AdWEJ perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been really professional in terms of client management. Their insights aren’t just based on digital marketing or online presence. What I really like about them is they really explain how things affect our business.

Their team can really break down the numbers and data analysis down to what action items we can do or move forward to actually improve our business as a whole. AdWEJ is really thorough, and they find everything. We have weekly calls with them. They report monthly as well to see the bigger picture.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve gained knowledge by working with them. What’s more, I’ve been surprised by the knowledge of the internet. They always know what’s going on in terms of search and Google. They’ve had a lot of experience in the past where everything wasn’t as crazy or quick as it is right now. AdWEJ learned how everything was built before. They never seem to not know why Google does this or that.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The interpretation of the data is really good. I’d love more reporting of the dashboards.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Just try it. They’ll bring a lot to the table if you’re launching a business. Their team will explain how everything is working, why it’s working, and how the money is being spent.
