BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am a Business Analyst for a Furniture Franchise. We are always looking for ways to automated and simplify day to day tasks so we can focus on the important aspects of our business; customers and people.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Abacasys Corporation, and what were your goals?

We are always trying to simplify the things that have to be done so we can successfully and more efficiently focus on the thing that make our business grow. With simplifying reporting tools and automating key metrics our management and leadership members can focus on developing our sales team that directly impacts the time we spend with our customers.

We partnered with Abacasys to reduce our time spent in front of our computers and get us focusing on the important aspects of our community relationships. Our goals is to create a platform that acts as a guide to be proactive instead of reactive. This platform will also allow us all business monitoring data at our fingertips that we wouldn't have otherwise.

SOLUTION

How did you select Abacasys Corporation and what were the deciding factors?

They were referred. Their background in APEX and Oracle development made our choice.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Team meets 2-3 times a week with myself to review projects and priorities. We use a project management software, Trello, to keep our work flow visual and manageable.

At all times I can see what stage a project is in and when it is handed off to the next step before the final step is my review and approval. We set project completion estimated hours and have deadlines for all priorities that are revisited weekly.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

My weekly team consist of 4 members. I have a Senior Team Lead/Developer who takes the lead on assigning projects and review priority assignments with myself. Three Senior Developers who are fulling trained in my internal POS system and understands the integration to complete the current assigned items.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We have been partnering for just over 2 years and have created a platform that is vital to our day to day task management and success. Every deadlines has been made and the communication is clear on any upcoming reservations.

We have reduced our managers daily reporting time from 3 hours daily to 30 minutes. In terms of our organization that times is critical to team development.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.

We utilize Zoom for our weekly/monthly class and Trello for our project management communication. For quick dialog we use Gmail and Hangouts within the Google system.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their adaptability. We operate on a DOS based POS system and within the first 3 month they had a good understanding of how our system table are linked and operate with very little assistance into the system. Their ability to learn and self teach is remarkable and could not be more valued.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not at this time. I have not been disappointed yet in the 2 years we have partnered.
