What challenge were you trying to address with 256 Devs?

We needed someone to develop an app that will enable small businesses to find funding.

What was the scope of their involvement?

256 Devs helped us build and develop an iOS and Android using the Flutter framework.

We mainly worked with Ruslan (Sales Manager), a project manager, and a designer.

We came across 256 Devs through Upwork.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested around $8,500.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our partnership ran from August 2021–February 2022.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They worked excellently for the first three months of development in terms of the consistency of quality and agility of delivery but after a while, they started caring less and less about the project — sometimes disappearing for a day or two.

I paid for some additional support and every iteration would have numerous issues and bugs they have to fix, even though it seemed like the app was working perfectly. Regardless, the app works 80% of the time with most of the problems being more prominent in the messaging and notifications functionalities.

How did 256 Devs perform from a project management standpoint?

They were perfect in the first half of the development phase, but the second half was almost sufficient.

We typically communicated through Zoom and WhatsApp, and managed the project using Trello.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We liked that at least 80% of the app is functioning properly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could’ve been more consistent with their communication and responsiveness as there were a few misunderstandings throughout the partnership.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

The only time you should work with 256 Devs is if you’re trying to quickly deploy a simple MVP at a cost-effective rate.
