I’m the founder and technical director at Nebo Global, a boat community and logging business. We record voyages.

What challenge were you trying to address with Zero Molecule?

We wanted to redevelop our app from the ground up for iOS and Android.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Zero Molecule has designed and developed our app from our existing app. We initially gave them access to the code base, and they redesigned the UI/UX design and ported the code into Flutter. Going forward, they’ll be involved with maintenance.

What is the team composition?

We work with six teammates.

How did you come to work with Zero Molecule?

We looked for Flutter developers and came across Zero Molecule. They were recommended by a marketing agency that used them in the past. We interviewed a few other agencies as well.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $50,000–$70,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in November 2021, and our relationship is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

After significant testing, we released the product on both app stores, and it’s now easier to maintain. The number of crashes has radically decreased.

Moreover, the vast majority of the feedback has been positive. Some people don’t like it when things change, so we’ve had 1–3 users saying they preferred the previous version. However, we have about 60,0000 registered users, so we’re very happy with the results.

How did Zero Molecule perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Google Chat on an informal basis. We also share designs in Figma and use Jira for sprint planning.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their design and coding work are outstanding. Zero Molecule strives to get great results; they’re driven to do whatever it takes to make it work in the best way possible. Overall, they’ve gone out of their way several times to change something and improve it so users can have the best experience.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Although nothing stands out, deadlines have been our only issue. We’ve blown out our timeframes by a significant amount. However, it hasn’t been Zero Molecule’s fault. Sometimes it’s due to our time management or coordination with the previous app developer.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Unless you're in Croatia, be prepared for online meetings as the primary communication mechanism.  We were concerned about language, however Zero Molecule's team have excellent English.

The project is still ongoing but we have been very impressed by quality and speed. Have fit into our team very well.

The subscription economy in Europe is estimated to be worth 350 billion euros per year, and all this has primed our partners and clients at Revuto to tackle this domain head-on. They set out to build a platform that would allow users to control their subscriptions and recurring payments. The project was set in two stages: Web application/presentational website and mobile apps.

The final product is a complete platform covering an entire lifecycle for the user from the acquisition side up to the end-user of the application.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The whole team is completely dedicated to work and delivers amazing results in a short time. We have excellent communication with each team member, and it is our pleasure to work with them.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The whole team is flexible, fast, skilled, very professional, and performs all tasks on time. They provided us with detailed reporting during each phase of app development, and we are lucky to collaborate with them.

Zero Molecule was our partner agency in developing the Cinemarket platform. We hired them to provide full frontend engineering support to our existing team.

What were your goals for this project?

Our primary goal was to develop, test and release Cinemarket platform in coordination with our partners. We were working on tight deadlines but we still needed to match our security and quality guidelines.

How did you select this vendor?

Zero Molecule was recommended to us by one of our partners. We were searching for a partner agency that could start working immediately with us and that it has big experience in frontend engineering.

They provided frontend web development expertise in developing and shaping multiple features inside the app. Our codebase is React based, so the engineering team from Zero Molecule worked with React, Redux and connected technologies while also maintaining a high visual polish level of our app.

What was the team composition?

Zero Molecule was completely dedicated to frontend development, while our engineering team provided backend support. We prioritized work according to release deadlines and each of the developers from Zero Molecule was dedicated to a group of features.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Zero Molecule helped us to release and optimize Cinemarket platform and to meet the requirements from end users and partners. Time was of the essence and they managed to start working with us immediately and they had a very important part in maintaining the high level of quality of our end product.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Everybody from the Zero Molecule team has joined our official Slack channel and communication was direct without any major latency. We discussed different solutions, blockers and they were always fast on unblocking us or providing feedback to our backend team.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They are outgoing and easy to work with, while delivering good results on time. Team is full of expertise for modern frontend web technologies and they don't over promise. They always set realistic expectations and they matched them.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Our experience with Zero Molecule was very positive and I will not hesitate to hire them for our next big project. My only suggestion for them is to hire more developers in order to increase the productivity.

I am the founder of Podcasted - a marketing/advertising services company that helps brands create original podcasts as well as advertise on existing podcasts.

We had decided on our brand and designed our website. Our next step was to ensure that the website was developed to our exact design specifications whilst operating quickly and bug-free.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goals were to design the website (which included 3 primary pages and around 4 secondary pages) with a responsive design that included animation without sacrificing on loading times.

They were recommended by another agency on behalf of our designer. We were happy with the vendor's pricing and their communications with our partner agency and decided to move forwards with the agreement.

They developed the website based on our design and configurations, often suggesting improvements that could be made and making us aware of challenges, often solving them before they happened. They were also responsive and quick to make any changes we requested.

We managed the project through our partner agency who worked directly with and managed Zero Molecule and their team.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Prior to working with Zero Molecule, we were simply an idea. Zero Molecule helped us bring our proposition to life and we used our new online presence to attract senior decision-makers from some leading companies, which we were able to have a conversation with. I do not believe we would have been able to do this without a web presence.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We managed the project through our partner agency who had in-person meetings with Zero Molecule as well as communications electronically via email and WhatsApp, there were no issues in communicating messages from one party or another and I experienced language barriers or timezone difficulties.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They are reasonably priced and their team have a wealth of expertise in web development. They can answer any question you have about the development of your project adequately and promptly, as well as deliver both on-brief - the key for any project.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The project took slightly longer than expected and progress seemed to start off slow, however things quickly picked up. Overall, I was satisfied with the schedule of the project. I assume this was simply an issue of availability and with us being a small budget project, we were understandably not a priority, note this is not at all a reflection of the attitude or communications of Zero Molecule as a company, but simply my own experience working with them. If we had been given accurate website deadlines proactively, that would have been helpful to arrange our launch marketing activities on-time too.

I had an idea for a data scraping app that would automate this but was unsure if it was possible. I shared the idea with David and his team at Zero Molecule and within 3-4 weeks they came back with a functioning app that turned a 5-6 hour task into a 15-30 second automation.
