ZAZZ provided a comprehensive suite of services, including UI/UX design, mobile app development, and website development, and delivered high-quality work. They designed the user interface and experience for our software project, including wireframing, prototyping, and iterating on designs until the final product met our requirements.

They developed a mobile application for our property management company, building native apps for iOS and Android platforms, as well as creating a responsive design for various screen sizes. Additionally, they developed a website for our company, building a custom CMS, creating a responsive design for desktop and mobile devices, and integrating various features such as contact forms and lead generation tools.

ZAZZ delivered a set of high-fidelity mockups, wireframes, and prototypes to help us visualize the final product, and a fully functional mobile application with all the features and functionality we required, including push notifications, user authentication, and integration with backend APIs. They also delivered a fully functional website with a custom CMS, responsive design, contact forms, and lead generation tools.

We needed help with developing a website and a mobile application for our company, so we hired Zazz. We saw an opportunity in America to generate revenue with our staffing services, so we were trying to create a unique platform where healthcare facilities could easily hire professionals, from administrative staff to doctors.

Zazz is helping us develop our web and mobile app. This is primarily a B2B app. On it, we’ll connect hospitals, healthcare facilities, healthcare professionals, and patients. Initially, we brainstormed ideas and worked on the concept, and Zazz helped us throughout the process, which included having 2–3-hour meetings.

We originally wanted to build the mobile app for iOS, but I also wanted it to be compatible with Android. Therefore, we’ve requested Zazz to develop both. As for the technology stack, they’re using React Native, MongoDB, and Node.js.

There are two aspects that are very good about Zazz’s work. One is their research work; they’ve done a great research on the online education niche and provided us with great ideas to improve our operations. The second aspect is their technology skills; they’ve provided great feedback on which technologies could work better for us, and their angle is great.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re very happy with Zazz’s work in terms of the design prototypes they have presented and how users flow between point A and point B. We haven’t implemented them yet, so we don’t have any numbers, but I can say that the app and website are very good and have met our expectations.

How did Zazz perform from a project management standpoint?

Zazz’s communication is prompt and great. Regarding tools, we use Skype, email, and Basecamp.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Zazz’s team provides out-of-the-box ideas and is forward-thinking. They’ve also been able to define what we’ll do and explain how that’d impact our target audience. 

In addition, one of the things I like the most about their work is that they’ve implemented dashboards and rankings. This allows us to show data for our customers, which is very helpful in attracting more customers and users to our site. They did great research on what the pinpoints of our audience are.

Consider their ideas because they have a great team and technology expertise to meet your needs. Zazz is the best option for your project.

They’ve used Figma for the design. The app is a hybrid for iOS and Android built on React Native, MongoDB for databases, and Node.js.

However, during our meetings, we mostly communicate with the project manager and design lead. The development phase started recently, so we’ve just interacted with the project manager and project coordinator.

We’ve already tested the design with some friends, but development is still in process. We haven’t launched, so we don’t have metrics.

They stay on budget, and we haven’t had issues in terms of deadlines. Moreover, they’ve been trustworthy and transparent from the beginning. They use Jira as an internal project management tool and provide a sheet document with all the project’s information. We mainly communicate through Zoom.

They stand out for their transparency and patience. Overall, we like that Zazz cares about the details. They’re great at explaining everything they’re doing. Even for the tools they use, they explain why they’re using that particular tool.

To be honest, I don’t have anything to say in that regard. So far, so good.

Communication is key. We had several hours of meetings during the discovery phase to understand what we wanted. When we got the delivery, we could see that we were all on the same page.

I’m a senior project manager at an organization aiming to build a parental control application for parents who are nervous about kids being mistreated or endangered. We’re building an application that utilizes master data management (MDM).

What challenge were you trying to address with Zazz?

We went online and checked many reference applications and took inspiration from them. The apps in the market have a lot of restrictions and often require parents to connect to a desktop. After that research, we had a very clear vision of what we wanted: a hands-free parental control application that could offer complete control over children's devices and was affordable. However, we didn't know how to accomplish this or which platform to use. We also had budget constraints.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Zazz provides us with mobile app development. First, we met with their business analysis team, and they got our requirements. We gave them a list of features we wanted, like parents being notified when kids were around a predator, scheduling, and screen time recording. The team came back with the first draft of a requirement document, and then we reworked some requirements. They delivered a final draft of requirements and an initial set of wireframes to help us visualize the app. 

From there, we discussed the platform to build the app and the budget. After that, we finalized and signed our contract. We had a kickoff meeting and were introduced to our team, who started the wireframing process again. Using the initial wireframes as a reference, they designed the app again using Figma. We provided them with the color scheme we wanted, and they created our logo and branding guidelines. Zazz delivered a complete UI kit. After the design phase was completed, they started with mobile app development. 

We decided to use MDM to help parents monitor their child's device and keep track of their regular activities and location. Due to our budget constraints, we decided to only build the app for iOS, so Zazz is using Swift for development, and the app will be compatible with iPhones and iPads. Currently, they're in the final stages of testing. 

The app's most important feature is predator notification. For this feature, Zazz helped us reach out to organizations and found one that could get us the data on sexual offenders in the US and their locations. We get updated data quarterly, and any time a kid is in the vicinity of a sexual offender, the parent will get a notification and can track them. The app also blocks mature content and has screentime management that restricts screen use to a limited number of hours, beyond which the device gets locked. 

What is the team composition?

We've worked with two business analysts, a senior project manager, a systems architecture person, two people from their sales team, a developer, and the QA testing team. In total, I've spoken to at least 10–12 teammates from Zazz. 

How did you come to work with Zazz?

We had set up multiple posts and ads in our internal team's personal LinkedIn accounts and reached out to friends and family. Initially, we reached out to many software development companies whose major approach was to develop something similar to other products in the market, where users would have to connect to a desktop. 

One of my friends had worked with Zazz on a design project, and they recommended them. Initially, we thought we couldn't use them for design, but my friend told their salesperson, and they reached out to us. At that point, we were in talks with another vendor whose cost was pretty high. Zazz helped us understand that, while they could only achieve some features with a desktop, we could achieve 95% of the features we wanted by using MDM functionality. The detailed plan they gave us after our first meeting and flow diagrams helped us decide to work with them.

We've spent around $85,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started contract negotiations in May 2022, the project started in July 2022, and it's ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Zazz has done a brilliant job. Our product will stand out in the market because it’s completely hands-free, offers industry-standard features, plus new features that haven’t been seen in the market. Moreover, the app looks beautiful with rich colors and branding — it’s more than we could have expected. As for Zazz, they’ve developed the app swiftly and with a good budget. 

How did Zazz perform from a project management standpoint?

Working with them has been an absolute delight from a project management standpoint. Initially, they gave us a timeline for December 2022, but we’re so ahead of schedule that they’ll launch in November 2022. Moreover, Zazz has a very organized process and has streamlined everything for us. 

At first, we met twice a week, then we reduced that to once a week. We use Zoom and email to communicate, Slack for immediate messages, and Jira for bug-tracking and product feedback. While I’ve only spoken to them virtually via Zoom, our company’s owner has met them in person.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Zazz has brilliantly added a personal touch to everything. They don’t just work as an outside organization; their product manager has been there for us and supported us. I’m in touch with them on their personal numbers. It’s great to have that personal connection and see it reflected in the app. 

Most companies want more work and to get more money from their clients. Meanwhile, Zazz got us to hold our horses and has advised us to go phase by phase. Thanks to them, we’re starting with an MVP to own the name and leave room for improvement. While they work on the product, they give us information about what we need to do in the next phase. The team has a very clear vision for us and has already provided a list of features for phase two that’ll help us plan our budget and launch.

At first, we asked for the moon with our requirements. However, we understand that wasn’t possible with our budget.

You should have a vision of what you want, even if it’s not to a T, and give Zazz some references because they’ll make the most of them. If you go to them blindly, they’ll give you a complete plan of what they can do.

B A S T & Associates is an accounting firm that provides general bookkeeping, providing services as payroll and corporate and personal tax solutions specialising in small to mid-sized businesses. I am the co-founder at Bast and what I do is provide consultation to organisations for several functions such as Accounting, Auditing, taxation and management reports.

We decided that the best solution to the problem of managing clientele and scheduling accounting sessions would be to develop a mobile application that would allow clients to arrange meetings with accountants to discuss accounting needs.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

In addition to Zazz being on the short list, we had spoken with numerous developers in North America. We decided to move forward with them because of their willingness to work within our limited budget.

The Zazz Development team provided us with an app life-cycle wherein the project would be broken down into 5 phases of work:

1. The first of which is known as the discovery phase.In this phase, The development team would assist with market research, product discovery, user persona, product strategy and feature roadmap prioritisation.
2. Following this stage is the design and prototype phase, the design lead would provide us with high-fidelity mockups using Figma, where the UI/UX seemed extremely accessible and uber friendly, which was one of the most important factors for us as we wanted to streamline the experience for our customers. They also assisted with content mapping and content design as well.
3. A week or so after the design phase, we entered the development phase, where the team worked on the system’s architecture, for the front-end development they used React, for the back-end development they used Node.js , API development & CMS development, and they applied scrum methodology.
4. The fourth phase of the life-cycle is where the team worked on some quality assurance and had done worked on the security measures testing on the app to ascertain any breaches are addressed and that the flow of the app is flawless.
5. And finally in the final phase of the life-cycle, they would provide services such as maintenance of the app, provide any updates to the app, debugging and launch the app over AWS cloud system.

As soon as the app was released, we saw astounding amounts of downloads with a 5 star rating in both the Apple and Android app stores. This definitely increased the traffic and ever since the launch, people have commented that the app is easily navigable.

They were extremely flexible with any communication tool out there in the market. Communication with the development team usually took place on a weekly basis, sometimes more sporadically depending on the need, during the week through Slack and Zoom, in which the team shared ideas and we provided feedback.

The dedication, timeliness, and ease of communication made them extremely distinct and impressive. They thoroughly went over our requirements and made sure each and every point was covered and addressed.
