We want to build an OTT platform for our client and we reached Zartek to develop the same. The OTT should be built on the specific features asked by the end client with better performance on even the data network.

We were working with this team for other projects which were tough and challenging in terms of development and Zartek could deliver smart and smooth solutions for the same. So we decided to opt them again for the solution required.

Within the timeframe, they could deliver the project with an amazing UI and feature sets. Code quality was pretty good and they could solve the challenge in a better way where we expect.

Pm was so easy to communicate via slack and WhatsApp ( as per our request). They were available all the time and respond to us in back timely.

I found their flexibility in handling tasks I assigned them and the patience they had in working with my schedule to be comforting. I was happy with their advice on the more technical aspects of the projects. They were ready to help us at all times.

Every update was given on Slack, so it was easy to manage. The manager gave us weekly updates on top of meetings every 2 days. Slack made it easy to directly chat with the developers if needed.

The knowledge that these developers had and innovative ideas really helped in bringing out the best in this project. The way the team worked really impressed us, always ready to work and no hiccups in between.

Ratings (andorid) 4.7 Active users (total) ~10k Downlaods ~40k Helped thousands of users during pandemic to relax via this app. Reached to users in rare countries which were difficult to reach physically. Current app version is good with minimal bugs. However, several bugs were reported and rectified in last year.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Communication has been better since last >6 months. We used excel sheets to resolve the issues from users, or to check/record the upgrading of new features in app base don user suggestion and experience. We also communicated via zoom, or WhatsApp calls. Team was responsive. Never felt language barrier.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I believe that team is young, and energetic, and improving day by day. Anyone new to app development process can also work with them easily. They always supported and clarified the answers for app work flow, or technical queries. The customer can work with them to discuss on the design and feasibility of ideas. Never with other similar vendors, so can not compare.

We needed a complete e-commerce platform.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They developed our e-commerce platform, including both front- and backend development work. They kept different milestones for the work. The initial stage involved a long discussion about design, specifications, and functionality plans.

Once everything was confirmed, we moved to the initial stage of development. We had a website, an admin panel, and a mobile application for both iOS and Android. They reduced our costs by presenting many options. They selected Flutter and Oracle for reliable, quick delivery, so we used those technologies. 

What is the team composition?

I had two points of contact, including a project manager. I also had my own freelance developer because we had the issue with the distance. We needed someone in our timezone in case of emergencies.

How did you come to work with Zartek Technologies?

We did a lot of research and asked our network for recommendations. We looked at a lot of companies and Zartek Technologies was really good. They had a clear idea of what we wanted and the proposal they made was really attractive.

The cost of developing the same thing here in Saudi was much higher. We had one month of discussions around exactly what we want and how we want to phase the project. He explained we needed to have 2-3 phases to get it done fast.

They did a great job of delivering projects within our set milestones. We did a soft launch and before going live and got some complaints about bugs. Their team fixed all bugs quickly for us. We’re getting back on track now and slowly we’re getting more downloads.

How did Zartek Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

We had some communication issues and a project delay because of our timezone differences. To combat these issues, we set deadlines within our overall timeline to account for specific tasks.

There were some issues with meeting these, but they did finish everything. The main problem was the working day timezone differences. We had a lot of Google Meets sessions.

They were really good at explaining the technical aspects of the project. We don't have much technical knowledge, and they offered information that informed our process. They asked a lot of questions.

We are operating in very different timezones, which delayed tasks.
