What challenge were you trying to address with yumeda?

We hired yumeda to improve and relaunch our website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We provided yumeda with our old website and what we wanted to change, as well as broad information about how we wanted the new design to look. The site needed to be warm and emotional but still professional — the design couldn’t be too cliche. In general, we requested that yumeda integrate our new branding and additional information about our NGO into the new site. yumeda then presented us with 4–5 designs to choose from with different color schemes and graphics. Then, they developed the final design into a functional website. 

There is still some information missing from our website that we’re waiting on from a different partner, but once we receive that, yumeda will launch the new site.

We’ve worked with three teammates from yumeda, including the two founders and a programmer.

yumeda had a really good reputation, and I’d worked with them at my previous company, so when my company needed website design services, I hired them.

Our engagement with yumeda began in July 2021, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’re delighted with the design that yumeda created for us — they've integrated all the features we wanted. yumeda has delivered exactly what we wanted and has catered to any changes we’ve needed to make. 

How did yumeda perform from a project management standpoint?

yumeda has met all of our deadlines and delivered within our budget. Occasionally, they’ve delivered a few days ahead of a deadline to ensure we have time to review the deliverables. Typically, we’ve communicated with them via email and have had project review calls via Zoom. yumeda has been great about explaining project progress. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

yumeda is a young company, but is very professional and always puts their customers first. They work to ensure that they meet customer expectations and fit a customer’s style. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have anything for yumeda to improve.

I’d advise customers to trust yumeda and utilize their expertise because they know exactly how to deliver for customers.

For what projects/services did your company hire yumeda, and what were your goals?

We were looking for a partner, that could help us the develop a website for our company anniversary on short term. We only had 3 months to start from scratch.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We used our network to select partners, which were already known as there was no time to use the regular process. Also we had a tight budget and time pressure. We provided a short intro into our project and asked for flexibility on the vendor side, as not everything was 100% clear when talking about the project at first.

yumeda guided us throught his project with several steps. All steps were 100% digital, so there was no need to meet in person (which was quite important in this Corona situation). We startet with a kickoff workshop and told yumeda every idea we had. They structered these ideas afterwards with the help of Miro board.

The next steps were mockups they provided, so that we could get a feeling of how the website could look like. We used Figma for this and hat several rounds of discussion. After finalizing the design, they startet coding the website. The last step were the texts and pictures for the website, which we added our own (we requested this, they would have done it themselves, too).

We only had one contact person. But there was a huge team behind helping us to finalize the project in time.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Yumeda kept with every deadline we discussed. There was not much time for the project, and it was even shortened by christmas holiday. We were more then impressed by the work of yumeda!

The communication was great! Just a few digital meetings were needed to finalize the project. The communcation was clear, super friendly and absolutely professional.

The speed was impressive! Also the communication and the usage of digital collaboration tools were great.

Honestly, I cant think of anything that could be improved.

yumeda developed our marketing materials and branding guidebook. They designed our logo and our website. We didn’t provide them with much information going into the project, but they understood our needs and took over the entire process. We discussed what changes we needed to make and what needed to be implemented to improve our branding. Then, yumeda provided us with multiple options for our branding, and we participated in several workshops with their team to hammer out our vision. 

Once yumeda delivered all of the marketing and branding materials, they designed our website, following the guidelines we’d developed during our collaborative workshops. Over time, yumeda updated the website they developed to fully encompass our company’s vision and goals as we changed.

We are a very young company, so the professional-looking website yumeda developed helped us appeal to the startups we were sourcing. The groundwork yumeda did before designing our website and marketing materials has helped us with our employer branding. 

How did yumeda perform from a project management standpoint?

yumeda has good communication — we use Slack for daily communication, and they use Monday to track project progress. It’s always evident what yumeda needs from us to continue a project and when deadlines are. I’ve never had a problem with yumeda not meeting deadlines. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

yumeda feels like they’re an in-house team — it’s like working with our own employees. Communication is very smooth, and everyone is always aligned on the project, but yumeda isn’t afraid to challenge our ideas.

I have nothing for them to improve.

I’d advise customers to communicate openly and transparently with yumeda and provide yumeda’s team with as much information about their business as possible. That’s the best way to get a good result from the partnership.

For what projects/services did your company hire yumeda?

Yumeda created our digital marketing startegy, our branding as well as our eCommerce store.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

For the creation of the eCommerce store it was important for us to work with a service provider who has knowledge in online marketing but also in UX/UI design and development. Yumeda has knowledge in all these areas and ultimately convinced us with its portfolio and customer-centric approach.

In the first step, yumeda conducted an in-depth market research. Competitors and target groups were analyzed and buyer personas were established. On this basis, we then started our branding. First, a workshop was held in which we defined the vision, mission and values. Then our logo, corporate colors and font were created.

The last step was to create our eCommerce store. For this, we first collected qualitative and quantitative data in the form of user interviews and keyword research. After that, flow charts, wireframing and a mockup were created before the website was finally implemented.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Workflow is probably the aspect that sets yumeda apart from its competitors. On the one hand because of the absolute transparency and on the other hand because of the customer-centric approach. As a customer, we had access to the agency's project management tool and could always see the current status of the project and exactly who was working on what.

The agency worked significantly with Figma on the design. We as customers had access to this and could leave comments on a daily basis. this ensured that work was never carried out in the wrong direction for too long.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The workflow already described. I have never experienced such transparency and effective collaboration before.
