I’m the CEO of an integrated health delivery group comprised mostly of primary care physicians. We provide care in hospitals, post-acute care settings, ambulatory locations and home-based care.

What challenge were you trying to address with Youtech?

We have been growing pretty rapidly over the last few years, and the last iteration of our website was made about six years ago when we were probably one third of our current size. We wanted to try to update the site and improve our visual presence and SEO in order to match the growth that we had experienced.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They built a new site for us from the ground up, keeping the same brand elements but changing the design, adding some content, and really redoing the whole UI/UX. From there, they worked on our SEO in order to try to draw more traffic to the site.

What is the team composition?

I think there were about 5–6 people working on our account, including a lead designer, an SEO guy, and a content developer and project manager.

How did you come to work with Youtech?

We were first referred to them by another associate in our space, and at the time we weren’t ready to implement the changes, so we circled back with them a few months later to see if they were still interested and moved forward from there.

How much have you invested with them?

Since we started, the project cost has been around $20,000 in total.

The project started in September 2019 and we are continuing to work together.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since the site launched, we have seen a pretty significant uptick in traffic, which we are very satisfied with. Both internal and external feedback has been really positive about the information presented and the site’s ease of use.

How did Youtech perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve been very satisfied with their ability to manage the project. We have conference calls on a periodic basis, weekly during the development process and closer to once a month now that we are focusing on maintenance. They are more than willing to communicate via email and phone calls whenever we have questions or requests.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The whole experience of working with their team was really positive, which isn’t something you often get with third party development companies.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

As with anything, your success is likely to be dependent on how involved the client is in the process as well. I was pretty hands-on with respect to our content and design methodology, but they did a great job of putting it all together and conceptualizing the less specific ideas that we had.

What challenge were you trying to address with Youtech?

We needed help with our digital presence. Our team had some experience in the digital space, but we want to focus on it as the company grows. We needed someone who had a little more time than our team had. Thus, we brought in a company that understood the digital marketing space and help us with some of those hurdles.

We specifically make a testosterone support product. When you get into a space like that, some people aren’t very understanding of the word and what it means to have testosterone support in the supplement industry. It gets complicated as there are some hurdles and boundaries we have because of the positioning and how the supplement works.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Youtech primarily helped us in the digital marketing space. We have our own designers and developers, but we needed some next-level insight and understanding. They're running digital ad spends such as PPC, SEO, and other improvements. They get quite granular with incorporating new technologies and bring that expertise to guide us in what the capabilities of some of the systems are. They've helped with different things like retargeting and different conquesting for digital spending and also trying to see if we can find someone that has a need that maybe we didn’t identify initially. We also did a full overhaul on our site this year and it was imperative that we had a second set of eyes.

Overall, this means we’re in a space where people force ads through and waiting for them to get rejected or go the more legitimate route and find out how to actually talk to a customer in a roundabout way. Youtech was very well aware of those challenges when we signed with them, and they were very embracing of it. We have had people who have said it isn’t a problem, and that things will be totally fine, but then things don’t go well. Youtech, from the beginning, has addressed the issue and been upfront with there being a fundamental issue. However, they have found ways to address it and talk about it in a wholesome way knowing that we will not budge on our brand.

What is the team composition?

We have a project manager who we speak with on a regular basis who is incredible at making sure we have a response within minutes. There are an account manager and a team of SEO and digital creative people.

How did you come to work with Youtech?

Our president had a known friendship with someone who was related to someone that works with Youtech. We didn’t know who they were, but we felt it was worth talking to them to see.

The CEO of Youtech came to the meeting. They were a much larger group than what we originally thought; we didn’t know they had a Chicago-based office. Once that meeting happened, they had a willingness to tell us what their vision was, and it really aligned and really connected with our leadership. We had a good interaction with them, so we felt much better about working with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them on April 2019, and the work is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We set clear cost per acquisitions (CPAs) that we wanted to hit. More times than not, they have been able to figure it out and get it to that mark so that it was scalable. As we continue to grow, we have faith and trust that they can hit those numbers. I set really aggressive targets for us, and they have hit those CPAs pretty regularly.

There are certainly challenges when you run certain advertising spends and are trying to figure out what is working and what is not. They have always been very open to that and have been very transparent, making sure things line up and that both parties are happy with what we are seeing. We wanted someone that knew this is a partnership.

How did Youtech perform from a project management standpoint?

We use email, Slack, and often meet in person. I most often speak to my incredible account manager, who is fantastic and very responsive. Their CEO has been in our office, come to a couple of meetings, and met with us on the phone. It’s much easier to have conversations when decision-makers are present.

I get responses back very quickly. Even if we really need something, the CEO has been very accommodating and tries to make time. When we talk to them, they make sure that all the parties involved with the project are visible and available. Sometimes, agencies give only one point of contact, whereas Youtech will bring a lead for SEO or their digital creative person to meetings.

They’ve been open to communicating and helping us when we build ads or content. In the past, other agencies have had lackluster performance when it comes to schedule, but Youtech has met all deadlines.

Their communication has really helped drive that schedule and made sure that we are getting things done. Because it is more of a partnership, I wanted to make sure that our team was also integrated with them. It’s nice that we are holding each other accountable.

What did you find most impressive about them?

If I would speak highly of anything, it would be their transparency.

Are there any areas they could improve?

At the end of the day, there are certainly times when we haven’t hit our numbers. I can’t say they are perfect, but I don’t think any group can do anything perfectly. There've been times when we are working on a project and it didn’t fully fit what we were envisioning, but again I think that is really just an issue when you aren’t in the office and not with the person all the time; sometimes things get a little lost.

I would have a hard time saying that any problem we have had hasn’t been immediately addressed and immediately been worked to a resolution. They're spending the resources to make sure their staff is educated on all the things that we need. I really don’t have a lot of negatives outside of having a question every once in a while which they don’t know the answer to.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you’re going into it just thinking you are going to hire an outside group and see instant results, it just isn’t the case. Youtech has been pretty upfront about that which I like. The CEO didn’t come in with a mindset that they were going to turn everything around for us. You have to believe in your story and in what you are trying to do. An agency or an outside group, is only going to be one piece helping you get there.

I’m an executive at Riot Hospitality Group, which oversees a group of restaurants.

What challenge were you trying to address with Youtech?

I wanted to take our different platforms that have developed a good audience and monetize them to drive a profit.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They helped us create a pay-per-click (PPC) campaign through Google. We identified the needs of each store individually. We identified the demographic and what the needs were for each store and then tailored a PPC campaign to each store to deliver a return. Youtech used their knowledge of Google and PPC ads to help me in my vision and how I wanted to grow profitability in each store.

What is the team composition?

My direct contact is our account executive. There’s a PPC lead in charge of the whole paid advertising program. When we have a more involved question about how we should structure the campaign, he provides answers and execution on a campaign level. There’s a director of client relations who is very involved with the brand. She’s often in some of our restaurants to gain a better understanding of them so that when we all talk, she has a lot of context and understanding of the brands. The owner of the company was the first person I met and he was the one who started the relationship between our two companies.

How did you come to work with Youtech?

It was a long time coming. Many years ago, they were based out of Chicago and they would visit our Chicago location frequently. The owner would talk to all of us and enjoyed the restaurant. He also let everybody know about his company and offered his services. At the time, we were pretty small and didn’t see that we could get a return on the products he was offering at the time. He was very persistent. and we finally connected less than a year ago. He showed some of the stuff he’s been doing for other companies and how his company is structured. I was sold on the amount of experience that he and his team brought to the table.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in December 2018 and the work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve seen an uptick in traffic and click-throughs. We’ve only been driving these campaigns for about three months, and we’re now seeing upward trends at the store level. When we first started, we had to work out a couple of the kinks. Some of the coupons needed to have different disclaimers on them. For the actual UI, we were getting a deep dropoff between clicking on the ad and redeeming the coupon. When we started seeing that, they called a meeting and we sat down and made it so that clicks on the ad results in the coupon automatically downloading. That really helped the conversion rate.

On our end, we had to do some management training to make sure that when someone was redeeming a coupon, it was getting accurately reported. I’m confident that when we get the reporting to as close to 100% as possible, we’re going to see some really large returns.

How did Youtech perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re always sending status reports. They’re always asking questions, such as whether we want to fine-tune campaigns for certain holidays. I don’t have to reach out to them for that, which is great. I get an email a couple times a week with updates. Other vendors I work with wait for me to come to them and I don’t have to do that with Youtech.

They’re also very transparent. If I have to get a hold of them quickly, they always answer their phone. We have a lunch meeting every couple of months just to touch base and we always choose one our locations so they can get a better idea of what our concepts are like.

Our account executive is awesome and communicates very well. She has a clear vision of what I’m looking for. She gets answers very quickly when I have questions.

Their invoicing system is very clean and they’re always on time. There are never any surprises. The accounting side of it is great. The initial contract that we signed was extremely detailed and transparent. They worked with us to craft it. I never felt as if it was designed to help keep them safe. It was a very bipartisan contract which was good.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re proactive and get ahead of things. They realized when the conversion rate was falling off and found a solution to that problem. Their skill level stands out. They’re very articulate and can easily explain to me what they’re doing and why they’re doing it. It makes me feel a lot more comfortable spending the money. They’re very helpful in making me understand exactly what they’re doing and why they’re doing it.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The biggest thing I’m working on with them is getting a true conversion and true ROI. They have plenty of tools tell us how many people looked at the ad and how many clicked on it, but it’s taking some time to get to the point where I can say we spent X amount on an ad, 14,000 people saw it, 280 people clicked on it, and then 84 people walked in the front door and used it. That would clearly show our ROI and that’s the point we’re trying to get to.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

While you’re working with them, make sure that you’re talking to your team managers and staff and that they fully understand what the promotion is, what the coupons look like, how they work, and how to report it so that you can get to that true ROI and true conversion quicker.

I’m the owner of Things Branded. We are a top supplier of branded apparel and material, and we cater to the B2B space.

What challenge were you trying to address with Youtech?

Our website was fifteen years old, and we couldn’t find a web developer that was familiar with the software or language. We hired Youtech to develop a new website for us. Since our products are custom-made, we wanted our site to be more informational than e-commerce-based.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Youtech developed our new website from the ground up. We had a preliminary conversation so that Youtech could understand the direction we wanted to go in. They did an in-depth psychological test of our company and our personalities to determine a color scheme. They developed the color palette based on the message we wanted to convey and what we wanted to accomplish. The team created a contact page and some interactive elements; they also did logo design and graphics.

What is the team composition?

We worked with a team lead. About ten Youtech team members were involved in the project. Youtech assigned two people to determine the color scheme.

How did you come to work with Youtech?

One of our clients suggested we contact Wilbur (Founder and CEO, Youtech). I visited Youtech’s website and, although I’m not very technical, I could tell that their work was functional and well-designed.

What is the status of this engagement?

My company began working with Youtech in October 2018, and we launched the website in January 2019. Although they completed the project, Youtech provides ongoing maintenance and support.

Before working with Youtech, I avoided giving out our company’s web address; instead, I preferred more face-to-face business. I’m eager to show off the new site that Youtech built for us. I’m impressed with the final product.

How did Youtech perform from a project management standpoint?

Youtech’s communication was top-notch; they were in constant contact, whether they were seeking clarification or sending screenshots of their work. Our team lead and Wilbur were always available. This may be standard protocol, but their commitment blew me away. We communicated via phone and email. Our teams also engaged via a forum-like project management platform, where we kept transcripts and notes. Since the website’s only been live for a few months, we’re still making tweaks.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their approach to developing our color scheme was fascinating. They integrated colors that really worked for what we were trying to accomplish. Also, I liked how easily I could reach our team led. If we decide we do want to take an e-commerce route, we will definitely re-engage Youtech.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I found no room for improvement, and I’m saying this as someone with no stake in Youtech’s success.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

If you’re like me and have no tech background, don’t be afraid to ask when you don’t understand something.

We wanted to improve our online lead generation and didn’t have the time to manage it ourselves.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We started out focused on SEO and optimizing our site, then realized that we ought to completely redo it. Our team provided the text and Youtech handled the graphics and UI/UX. They also changed over the base software used to build it.

What is the team composition?

We had an account manager and two or three other team members worked with us day to day.

How did you come to work with Youtech?

A prospective client introduced them to us, actually, and had mentioned that they were thinking of using them for social media management and web development. We met with them and were impressed, so we decided to work with them on our SEO.

We worked with them from August 2017–January 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The site looked more modern, which we’re happy about. We didn’t see any change in terms of lead generation quality or quantity, which was disappointing but not unsurprising. It’s been a struggle for the whole 25 years we’ve been online, so it’s not really Youtech’s fault. They accomplished everything they said they would do. We’d definitely continue to refer business to them.

How did Youtech perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very organized. They came in with a plan and executed it well. In terms of communication, they’d send us regular reports and we’d have phone calls to discuss the results. We also touched base frequently via email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have a well-thought-out development process and their team’s expertise is solid.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’m not sure. Maybe they could’ve evaluated what we did and considered whether another marketing strategy like pay-per-click would’ve been more effective.

I’m the president and CEO of Cosanti, a charitable organization dedicated to advancing the intersection of architecture and ecology. We seek support from the community through things like a for-profit subsidiary that manufactures and sells bronze and ceramic wind bells.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Youtech?

We wanted to take advantage of a donation that we received from Google that equates to $10,000/month in free click-through advertising through Google Ads. We needed help with the strategy to make more effective use out of that—we’d signed a contract to focus on the wind bell business and wanted to use an online marketing strategy to grow our revenues.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

One of their recommendations was that we should optimize our online store for purchases of bells. They rebuilt our website using Shopify as the backend and made it work better for online purchasing. The actual look and feel of the site, the basic design, and some of the content came from our existing site, but they did all the integration.

We’ve just started a new contract, for which they’ll be managing SEO, Google Ads, and email campaigns to drive more traffic and more sales. If it works and delivers results, we’ll continue to work with them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The website went live in December, only one day behind schedule, which I found absolutely remarkable. They were actually done with it early, but we delayed it because we were launching our new POS system at the same time and needed to make tweaks. Our customers who also used the old site say it’s a far better purchasing experience now. We’re very satisfied with what we have, and it rolled out very smoothly.

They also produced some additional benefits that we’ve been enjoying. The Shopify backend is useful to for the internal processing of phone orders or for use in our shipping department—it’s created all kinds of new efficiencies and processes that we didn’t expect when we first started the engagement. The next phase is to do online marketing and hopefully drive an increase in sales.

How did Youtech perform from a project management standpoint?

The project manager was attentive, responsive, and diligent throughout the whole project. It was phenomenal all the way through and the fact they delivered on time was amazing. 

They have an online project management tool in which we could see every element of the project. Any time I logged in, it laid out all the different stages of the project in a visual way and made it very clear whether we were on time or not, and if not, what needed to be done to catch up. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have a methodology that everybody in the organization buys into, understands, and utilizes. They really listen—at some moments, we offered very detailed feedback on the design and content, which they understood and made changes accordingly. They also pushed back where they should and explained why something wouldn’t work. In other areas, where there was a design choice and our opinion mattered, they took that into account. We could tell they read our feedback and took it seriously.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be as thorough as possible. They’re very good at listening thoroughly and carefully to what you’re trying to achieve. Make sure you take advantage of every idea you have. They’re very good at taking that into account and delivering what you want to see delivered.

First, they've taken over the maintenance of our website. They’ve made some adjustments, added new features, and made suggestions in terms of the design, all of which helped improve the look and feel of the site. They also do SEO for us. In terms of digital marketing, they create content for our LinkedIn account. (LinkedIn is the only social media platform that works for us).

They're very organized. They make a plan and adhere to it. They always tell us ahead of time if they need to make changes to the schedule. Also, they keep us up-to-date with the progress, so we never have to wonder what is going on with the project.

I am the marketing director of Square One Concepts, a hospitality group based in Arizona. We oversee about 25 bars and nightclubs in our region.

What challenge were you trying to address with Youtech?

We were in a dark period digitally and didn’t have any fully functioning websites. Our social media was lacking, and we didn’t know much about SEO or Google rankings. We brought them on to bolster our digital presence.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We hired them for a six-month test trial and started working together on our social media. After they proved themselves, we reevaluated the partnership and brought them in to redo our whole website and the affiliated SEO.

They built everything from the ground up, starting with a full overhaul of all our websites. They do SEO for all of our concepts, run our social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and manage all of our web design, hosting, and maintenance for our concepts. They oversee all our content design and posting.

We work with a project manager as our primary point of contact, but our interaction has evolved a little over the years. I deal with the SEO team and the social media team on a daily basis, and we all stay in close contact.

We’ve seen massive growth thanks to our SEO. So many people come to us through our website, and the whole network of restaurants benefits from that return on investment. The brand exposure in mass media is phenomenal.

We’ve worked with a lot of people in the past, but no other agency even comes close to their communication and organizational skills. They’re always on top of everything and complete everything in a timely manner. No matter how many emails I send in a day, they always respond within minutes with an answer or information.

Their responsiveness and their innovativeness are impressive. They’re a young team and are always coming up with new ideas and staying ahead of trends. They anticipate what’s coming and put us ahead of our competitors. They’ve become a part of our family, and we go to them for anything.

Trust their judgment and consider what they present to you. They will keep your budget in mind and will help grow your business. People are often nervous about using big agencies, but Youtech wants you to succeed.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Youtech created our Facebook and Instagram accounts and helped us manage social media ad campaigns. They also helped redesign our website, simplifying each page, making it mobile friendly, and adding additional features as needed. They continue to provide SEO services and manage our PPC campaigns.

We researched local agencies in the Chicago area and originally worked with one of Youtech's competitors for a year based on their affordability. What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Youtech successfully increased our online traffic and organic search rankings on Google for various keywords. We're usually in the top three to five search results for targeted keywords thanks to their SEO efforts and how they've simplified our website.

How did Youtech perform from a project management standpoint?

They've been great to work with thus far. They're very timely and responsive; I generally get a response back from them within an hour of reaching out by phone or email. They also worked very efficiently on the website redesign, finishing all the edits within a couple of weeks.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have a large and specialized team that covers all of our needs, from web development to SEO and social media management. No one person on their team is spread thin, allowing them to produce higher quality work compared to other agencies. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Even though it didn't impact outcomes negatively, we had a lot of changes in the people working on our projects over the past year, so it would've been nice to have had more consistency in resources.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be upfront with their team about company goals and needs, and be open to their suggestions and feedback. Once Youtech started to fully understand our audience, they were able to hone in on marketing strategies to help us achieve our goals.

I am the marketing manager for Best Value Vacs. We sell laboratory equipment as well as vacuum chambers for wood stabilizing.

What challenge were you trying to address with Youtech?

We experienced some problems with our incumbent website developer, so we looked elsewhere for a vendor that could facilitate a website redesign and an organizational rebrand.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Youtech redesigned our website using the Magento platform, and they added the plug-ins and customizations that we needed. For our company rebrand, which we hope to launch in March 2019, Youtech has created a new logo and updated all of our label templates, banners, and marketing collateral.

One of our team members knew Youtech’s owner and recommended the business. We met with their team to discuss our goals, and we selected them following that conversation.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement began in summer 2016 and remains ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our website experiences fewer problems. Because we are primarily an online business, this makes purchasing from our website more user-friendly and seamless. Our email newsletter has increased its growth, so we have more people requesting our services and wanting to see our products. And our social media presence has grown because of their input. We’ve gotten a lot in return as a result of their work.

How did Youtech perform from a project management standpoint?

We consider them to be an extension of our staff. I can call any member of their team and have problems resolved quickly. We benefit from having a healthy approach to communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have proven to be an accessible and reliable partner.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We have a very good relationship with them, so as we find things that need improvement, we have directly addressed those issues with them. There haven’t been many of those instances, but they fix things as soon as possible.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Never underestimate their abilities because they can find a solution to make ideas a reality.
