I am the COO of Carakit, a start up digital company that provides women undergoing major medical treatments, including Chemotherapy, radiation and surgery, with self-care essentials, emotional comfort and support through survivor-curated gift kits.

Our product is a rather hard to summarize and explain in a compact and business-like way that also quickly gets to the emotional heart of what we do. We have to not only get our message out on social media; we also have to explain our product quickly and efficiently to potential charity partners and to investors.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We reviewed and interviewed several explainer video production companies through Upworks and other interfaces, and we eventually chose Yans Media based on the beauty and uniqueness of other animation work they had done. We also found them to be very responsive to our suggestions, which was very important due to the nature of our product.

We started with a "get to know you" meeting and realized immediately that the best way forward was for my partner and founder to draft the script for our product based off of her personal experience and inspiration. The Yans team worked off of that script, providing helpful tweaks along the way, and created a story board that we revised together with their team leader, Aram. After a few rounds of revisions, we agreed on voice talent, and they then went on to the animation stage, which took only three weeks. We had very few changes to the final animated video -- it was everything we had hoped for and more.

We worked with Aram Movsisiyan, our project manager, every step of the way. He was exceedingly clear in his responses to our feedback, and our requested changes were done quickly and very directly reflected our comments.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We now have a beautiful animated video piece to show charity partners, doctors and organizations, as well as investors, AND we can use this video to sell the product directly via social media. It is an incredible tool, and we are pleased to have something that so clearly illustrates what we are trying to achieve at Carakit.

Arama was easy to communicate, with an under 24-hour turnaround time in all cases - couldn't be better. Direct, clear, and to the point in all communications.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Beautiful animation work. They "got us", which we did not think would be easy given the nature of our work. Combine that with efficient and direct work flow and you have a very winning combination in Yans Media.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Really no - honestly this was a terrific all around experience.

I am the CMO of Quorso, an enterprise level B2B software solution for major retail and hospitality businesses in the UK and US. Quorso is a start-up and, as such, we were looking for an equally agile and creative team to partner with on this project.

Quorso is an enterprise product with multiple users across the business (COO, CFO, Area Manager, Location Manager) and a range of diverse use cases (sales, costs, workforce management, KPIs etc). We needed an explainer video that clearly communicated the complex pains of the industries we serve and then presented Quorso as the easy, intuitive and impactful solution.

What were your goals for this project?

It needed to feel real and authentic and credible, while still being engaging and hold the attention of the viewer. The personas needed to be believable and a great deal needed to be communicated in a short space of time.

How did you select this vendor?

Yans Media came highly reviewed on Fiverr and we loved the videos in their portfolio. A lot of explainer videos feel very similar and use an illustration style that is childish/cartoony. What we loved about Yans Media was their very believable and warm characters, full of expression and personality.

The Yans Media team are professional, talented and incredibly patient. As a small startup we are in a constant state of evolution and our entire colour palette in fact changed during the course of the project!

Yans Media was incredibly accommodating and fully supported our desire, at every step of the way, to get the final video exactly right. Not only were the visuals fantastic, but they also worked hard to get the soundtrack exactly right as well.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

Led by Aram Movsisyan, the project management process could honestly not have been more seamless. He was incredibly responsive, communicative and punctual on delivery deadlines. He managed our expectations at all times and made the entire experience enjoyable and smooth.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The video is now live on the homepage of our website, on our social pages and on our YouTube channel - and is driving excellent traction in all three channels. Viewing numbers are high and view time also averages 70%, which is far above average for a 2min video. The video is also being well received in sales meetings and event presentations.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Really incredibly easy, transparent and effective.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their creative talent sets them apart. It was a tough brief but they absolutely cracked it and were impressively good at taking our feedback on board at each stage, incorporating it effectively and pushing back with good rationale on occasion as well.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I honestly can't think of any. My only critique of the final video is that we (as in Quorso) made it a bit too long - which Aram warned us was the case from the very beginning... Next time we will listen ;)

Our company created a mobile application. It is an online platform where people can find master for works that require specific skills and the masters can find jobs according to their skills. We have needed to make videos for Varpet app to show our users how the application works and how to use it.

What were your goals for this project?

We want to show our users how the app works, what services there are, how they can make orders or register as a master. This explainer video is very helpful for users. The video helps our user how they can find the service they need and make an order. It increases both the orders and the high-ratings of the app in Play Store and App Store. Also, the cancelation of the orders are getting decreased.

We searched online for designers in our area and found several companies on that filed. A friend of our company advised Yans Media who had hired the company before and was very pleased with their work. We took into account both the advice and the quality for their proposal and their attention to every detail.

As we are going to make an explainer video for the mobile application we had a series of discovery meetings to discuss our goals and objectives. Within those days we received examples of video. After a few discussions with our marketing team we finalize the design and the content of the video. The video has got many views on our facebook page and on youtube which increase orders and the ratings of the app.

Actually, we were deal only with their CEO. But I think that there were at least a designers team and a content writer.

Our cooperation with Yans Media lasted 1.5 month. Since then has hardly passed a month but we already saw 10-15% increase in overall orders and Play Store and App Store downloads. In our social pages followers and video views are also increase compere with the last months reports.

The CEO of YansMedia we were assigned in was easy to communicate and provided us frequent updates. We connect over phone and e-mail several times a week. I am very impressed by their attention to every detail. They worked very quick and ended the project in time.

They will learn your product, understand real problems, and try to solve them.

Everything can always be done faster but we were very satisfied with their work every step of the way in the end quality is more important than speed and we ended up with a beautiful product.

We did a lot of research online and found a lot of options. In reaching out to Yans Media they were very responsive and providing a lot of great examples of past work. It was because of this that we decided to go with them as our vendor.

First, we started with describing them the main goals of the video. Then we moved on to developing the script. They gave a first pass and we went back and forth on revisions. After that, they gave us a bunch of voice over artist to pick from. We selected the VO and they got it produced. Finally we went back and forth on storyboarding and video aesthetic. From there they delivered the video to us.

Generally through emails, video calls, and in-platform commenting. We generally interacted with one person on the vendor team, unless they felt like including a specialist. They took our feedback very well and were able to incorporate it into the final product.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

While we have yet to make the video live, this video will live above the fold on our homepage. Based on the video, we are sure this will help drive growth.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I had a lot of direct communication (almost daily) with the project manager for the vendor. I received constant progress updates and was given many opportunities to review and ask questions on work as it was in progress.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The quality of their work. The video we got is truly world class and is something we will be trying to get in front of as many customers as we can.

Are there any areas for improvement?

While there are always areas for improvement, it's hard to pinpoint anything with the process. Possibly making sure the revisions process is more thoroughly explained. They were very kind and gave us extra revisions because we were confused on our end.

Aram and the rest of the crew at Yans were always quick to respond and it was always easy to get them on Skype for a quick meeting or full discussion.

A couple of the videos we did together for DriveTime were used in a full digital campaign that resulted in over 25 million views total.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow we had was smooth. Although in a different time zone, we were always able to connect and stay in the loop, whether it was via email, Skype, or Basecamp.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Yans Media is exceptionally good at providing solutions from multiple angles. As in, if we had a project that we had all the ideas figured out, they were happy to simple fulfill the animation. But there were other projects that they were just as important for with creative ideas, marketing strength, etc.
