Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the key account manager at Noblesoft, which provides software solutions for the Polish banking industry. We specialize in custom .NET and Java development for major banks. We outsource some of our work to other development providers.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with WORKITNOW?

We reached out to WORKITNOW’s .NET team for a project that we didn’t have the internal resources for. Our client, a major bank, had undergone some management changes and was seeking a customized platform for internal use.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

WORKITNOW developed a system that would allow a major bank to track its objectives and key results (OKR). Their tech stack included .NET Core 2.0, Angular 8, and Microsoft SQL. The team introduced themselves to the client as Noblesoft (our company) and worked as though they were really part of our team.

What is the team composition?

WORKITNOW provided us with five .NET developers. Our own project and product managers oversaw their work.

We worked with the whole team in the scrum methodology, with a project manager and a product manager on our side. The UX was done on our side as well. We had daily communication with them.

How did you come to work with WORKITNOW?

We’re both a part of Software Development Association Poland (SoDA). I was looking for a temporary team augmentation, so I reached out to them. They were reasonably priced, and our conversation went well.

How much have you invested with them?

The total cost was around $250,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with WORKITNOW around April 2019, and the project ended in October. We’re working with them and their developers on a project-by-project basis.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

WORKITNOW’s team was very competent and communicative. They allowed for an extremely transparent process; we were able to see all aspects of their work during the collaboration. They never hesitated to talk about issues that came up, which we appreciated.

How did WORKITNOW perform from a project management standpoint?

Our own project manager was overseeing the project and managed scrum meetings with the entire team. Their project management was good—sometimes they missed deadlines, but only about 10% of the time. It’s not possible to meet all deadlines in custom software development, so they were generally very good.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They managed to get an excellent team together in a short amount of time. Even though we were in a hurry, they were able to quickly provide us with high-quality developers. Since we work in the banking industry, security is a paramount aspect of our work—and their developers are able to create secure, high-quality code. They excelled at following our rules.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Although it didn’t occur very often, we had a few misunderstandings. They initially had trouble understanding what kind of technology we were looking for. It all smoothed out once we got the ball rolling.

We had a project for a third-party client—a large bank—for which we needed business analysis among other services. We engaged WORKITNOW as a partner to complete this project.

What was the scope of their involvement?

WORKITNOW were involved in every stage of the development process. They helped us plan the software solution, providing designs and defining the project’s parameters and stages. They then conducted business and system analysis while our development team built the software using agile methodology. WORKITNOW also tested the final iterations of the product before we presented it to our client. Their project manager oversaw the entire process.

What is the team composition?

We worked with a project manager and three business analysts that worked remotely. The analysts collaborated with our client to determine what they needed from the eventual software solution.

How did you come to work with WORKITNOW?

I met one of their co-founders at a conference and remembered the company when this project arose. WORKITNOW demonstrated a strong background in banking and financial markets, which distinguished them from other companies that we considered.

We spent nearly $100,000.

We worked together between June–October 2018.

The team demonstrated great charisma and professionalism, which made the collaboration effortless. They also have in-depth knowledge of business and their field.
