Project management was smooth. Content was delivered to time and usually to a very speedy turn around. Feedback was always acted on, and really thought through. As with any design project, you have to be minded to not let your personal views step in front of the project's objectives. Wildish folks never take the quick/easy route. They let feeddback digest, thought it through and came back with approaches with thoughtful approaches.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were a friendly bunch! A creative process can be painful, right? There are so many opinions, thoughts and reflections whizzing around a room. In order to successfully rebrand, you need a safe space where people can share their thoughts and be open. Wildish definitely achieved this. It felt like we were one team - no us and them - and that we'd worked together for years. This platform of respect meant we were always able to be honest with one another, and the end result speaks for itself. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something Wildish & Co. could have done differently?

The online timeline we were given up front was hugely helpful. It was great to see but, I'll be honest, I rarely looked at it and it didn't become a source of truth for us. Diary dates are most useful for us. Revisiting the timeline on our calls may have helped, but I don't feel there was anything lacking.

We asked Wildish to develop a new brand visual identity to better align with our redefined brand strategy. This included a new logo, typography, colour palette, graphical elements and style, along with application examples and full brand guidelines. We also asked Wildish to develop subsequent campaign creative and a campaign toolkit, including messaging and visuals to engage a cold and warm audience across different channels (including Digital and OOH).

Wildish successfully delivered our new visual identity (including brand guidelines and toolkit) and campaign creative  in time for our launch date.

Throughout the process, we were really impressed with Wildish's project management. They were incredibly easy to work with and ensured that each stage of the project was completed collaboratively so that our needs were met. The weekly sync call in particular was helpful to ensure everything was on track, and they clearly communicated on progress throughout. We also really appreciated Wildish's flexibility on the plan when timings changed our side and their timely response to our feedback on deliverables.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The collaboration and creative process. Wildish are unique in how collaborative yet efficient their processes are - they skillfully guided us to our new visual identity which was exactly what we were looking for. We were incredibly impressed with their 'big picture', creative thinking and felt like they fully understood what we were trying to acheive. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something Wildish & Co. could have done differently?

Attention to detail could be improved upon - overall this was great, however there were a few instances on the first round of deliverables where we had to flag some amends including the wrong logo being used, and typos etc. This was likely due to tight timeframes though and when flagged these were amended very quickly!

I'm the digital marketing manager for a hotel group. We have about 200 hotels across Europe, but I look after the UK and Ireland advertising division, which has about 57 hotels.

What challenge were you trying to address with Wildish & Co.?

We recently rebranded our hotel group from a very well-known brand in the UK to a lesser-known global brand. We needed to build brand awareness across our market. Normally, we would have run paid search and performance-optimized channels for marketing activity. However, with the new brand, we needed to do more brand-building activity and work with a creative agency to help produce a video.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We came to Wildish & Co. with a brief for a brand awareness campaign. We needed them to come up with a creative concept and idea for activation across the UK and Ireland audience. The brief was to raise awareness for our hotel group.

Wildish & Co. took our brief and came up with three ideas for how they would create the video. We chose one idea and went on to shoot in one of our hotels. Wildish & Co. hired models, stylists, and camera and audio people. Once the filming was concluded, the team took that footage and created our ads. Wildish & Co. published our videos across video-on-demand services, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and digital audio, which is like a Spotify podcast.

We also worked with Wildish & Co. to do and influencer campaign. The team recruited three influencers, coordinated their stays in our hotel, and received content from them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Wildish & Co. in October 2023, although the campaign began in the spring of this year. Our engagement just ended in October 2024.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our main success metric was the campaign's performance and whether we reached our KPIs, which we did. 

How did Wildish & Co. perform from a project management standpoint?

Wildish & Co. delivered work on time and was very responsive. The team reminded me if I had forgotten something. We usually communicated via Google Meet and email. We had regular calls, and the team was on top of things, and I could trust them.
Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

We worked with Harm on an ongoing basis. He was great and very responsive.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Wildish & Co.'s client and project management were excellent. The team was reliable and always checked in. Wildish & Co.'s creative strategy process was exceptional as well. The team didn't just take a brief from a client; they also had an interview process, which was useful because it allowed us to ask more questions we hadn't thought about before. Overall, Wildish & Co.'s outputs and execution were excellent.

We had outdated branding, and after 10 years, we felt like we needed a bit of a refresh. We hired Wildish & Co. to handle updating our brand.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Wildish & Co. handled our company’s rebranding effort and created a new WordPress website. They also gave guidance for future marketing and advertising. Their team interviewed me and my business partner, and they put together the logo, colors, and new branding guidelines. Wildish & Co. is offering maintenance services and updates when needed.

We worked with 2–3 people on the branding side and 4–5 people who were developing the website.

We found their company online. We gave Wildish & Co. a rough outline of what our company does, and we sat down for two hour-long meetings where they asked us about our company and target market. From there, they put together a plan. We liked the individuals we spoke to from Wildish & Co. and their ideas, so we decided to move forward with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together between September 2022–September 2023. The website and branding are completed, but we consider the engagement ongoing because Wildish & Co. provides maintenance services.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

It’s still early in the process, but our internal team has responded positively to the work. We like the new look and feel and are confident that once the website launches with all of the content, it will make a big difference. We plan to continue working with them, which is the true measure of success for us.

Wildish & Co. delivered on budget, but the project took slightly longer than anticipated. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were really impressed with the team we worked with, especially one of the individuals on their branding team. We are very happy with the result and would recommend them to anyone.

We wish Wildish & Co. would have been a little clearer with where we were regarding timelines because we weren’t always aware of what was being done. We think their branding team did a great job understanding what we needed, but their website team could have done better. It would have saved some time if their website team better understood what we were looking for.

We didn’t have proper branding rules, so we hired Wildish & Co. to help us with our branding.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We visited our mission statement and what we were looking to achieve in the next 10 years as a company. We also looked at our values and the persona we present as a business to nail down the brand strategy before starting anything else. We gave Wildish & Co. free reign to change everything they thought needed to be changed, including our logo. The most important thing to our organization was that our new branding aligned with who we were as a company. 

Wildish & Co. was responsible for strategy and the actual design work. They created new branding guidelines and a toolkit for other agencies or our in-house designers to implement across all of our assets. We came up with wording that described our company, and they gave us colors and fonts that matched those attributes. Wildish & Co. sent us the designs in PDF documents and presentations.

We worked with a consistent team of approximately seven people; this included a project manager and designers. 

How did you come to work with Wildish & Co.?

We found Wildish & Co. through a Google search. We looked at many different branding agencies and had specific criteria because we’ve struggled to work with other vendors in the past. We were looking at boutique agencies based in the UK with strong branding on their websites and clear messaging through their branding. 

It was also important to us that we worked with an agency whose approach included getting to know our company before starting any designs. 

How much have you invested with them?

We worked together between August 2022–January 2023. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We invested around £25,000 (approximately $31,000 USD).

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our team has responded positively to the new branding, which was very important to us. We also received positive feedback from customers and potential customers in a limited testing environment. We’re excited to roll the new branding out to the world. 

How did Wildish & Co. perform from a project management standpoint?

They had very strong project management; everything was delivered on time, and they clearly communicated to us if they were a bit behind schedule. Wildish & Co. adapted to our needs when changes occurred and were flexible to ensure we were always aligned. They also managed to keep us all on the same page when we were working through fairly abstract ideas. 

We used ClickUp for project management and communicated with a weekly meeting on Google Meet. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

We liked that they took the time to learn about our company and vision before starting any design work. Wildish & Co. had a firm understanding of branding and knew what was important when building a brand. We appreciated their experience, and how they treated us like we were the only clients they were working with. 

Wildish & Co. was good about demonstrating the value of different steps in the process. Some people within our organization struggled to understand the purpose of the rebrand and were attached to our brand; their team suggested proactive ways of overcoming these hurdles. They had strong people management skills and always kept an honest dialogue with us.

We’re really satisfied with how the project progressed. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Ensure you’re always checking an agency's ability to complete the specific job you’re looking for. Some companies advertise that they can do many different services, but can only do a few of them effectively. Find a partner that can do what you’re looking for exceptionally well.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the Head of Marketing for Smiler. We are a photography marketplace connecting photographers with customers at tourist locations around the world using easy-to-use technology.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Wildish & Co., and what were your goals?

As a multi-sided marketplace, we were looking for a brand refinement that could better communicate our identity to our three stakeholders: customers, photographers and our venue partners. The objectives and interests of these 3 stakeholders are quite different and so it was important that our brand platform was finely balanced to appeal to all three. Naturally our biggest challenge was then how do avoid being all things to everyone and risk becoming nothing to no-one.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We were speaking to a number of agencies across a variety of price-points as we were lucky enough to have just secured seed funding and our investors were very encouraging of us undertaking the brand refinement process. We ultimately selected Wildish as we felt they would work the most collaboratively with us. Our founders all have rich experience with marketing and brand, though through different lenses, so it was important to us to find a partner agency that could work collaboratively with us and frequently share process updates for quickfire feedback, workshopping and input. Ultimately it felt to us that Wildish were also invested in the success of the project for us, not simply as an addition to their client list. They felt much more like a partner in this process as opposed to an agency that would develop the solution in isolation.

Describe the scope of their work in detail, including any steps and the final deliverables.

The project was broken into two key deliverables; a new brand strategy platform and then a refinement to our visual identity to marry this. The brand platform process started with individual interviews with key stakeholders in our business to capture viewpoints, potential misalignments or points of content, background on our multiple user types and also our company vision and future. The Wildish & Co. team then synthesised this into 3 potential routes for further refinement and workshopping. Once we had finalised the brand platform, we started working with their design and copy team on the brand refinement.

This followed a similar process of using the earlier research and agreed upon brand platform to develop 3 overall visual vibes. These started generically to gauge our interest before more specific application of our chosen routes to our actual brand. Whilst we originally intended to preserve as much of our existing brand as possible, through the work with Wildish & Co we actually redefined almost everything about the brand's visual identity, including our logo, brand palette and graphical style.

Once finalised, Wildish & co. then developed the brand style guidelines to our specifications, including development of key merch items. The final deliverable was a brand photoshoot to capture our brand photography style and hero brand assets including the new merchandise.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We worked primarily with their Project Manager who was fantastic. He was our primary point of contact for all projects and also acted as the producer for the photoshoot. In the brand platform development we worked with their Strategy Director and MD. For the visual direction, we worked primarily with their Creative Director and Designer.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I must stress that we entered the project with the intention of a brand tuneup. The depth and understanding that Wildish showed for the brand and our challenges led us to a comprehensive brand overhaul that better represents the community of creators that make up Smiler. The feedback from our community has been overwhelmingly positive and our photographers are instantly recognisable thanks to their strong visual identity.

We had a weekly meeting that kept a good pace through the creative development process and nicely facilitated regular feedback from our side which was often challenging for us to collate internally. Wildish & Co. were always prompt to respond to questions or challenges and were excellent at chatting through and capturing verbal feedback.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They delivered on our reason for selecting them–a creative partner to work collaboratively on the process with us. We even reached a point where we were unhappy with a particular route, specifically due to direction that we had explicitly given weeks earlier. The Wildish & Co team were super understanding and patient with us and deftly guided us back on track. Similarly, people we spoke to in the pitch process were the people we worked with on the project. Too often agencies will bring in the big guns for a pitch but farm the actual work to the junior teams. This was a very refreshing process with Wildish & Co.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There were times where the two deliverables of the project felt very separate i.e. the creative direction was not always representative of the brand platform we defined together. Though part of this was likely due to our specific and directive feedback on particular elements that was in and of itself at odds with the brand platform. Also, I understand naturally that Wildish & Co. need a scalable process to churn out the high quality of work at the price they do, but there were times where it was evident that their process or deliverables were clearly templated and not bespoke to our brand.

I wanted a brand that accurately describes who we are.

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, we explained to Wildish & Co.who we are and how we wanted our brand to look. They then helped us create a brand package, including our logo and other assets. Their team also created a website mock-up and produced animated videos for us.

We worked with the managing director, a project manager, and various people from their creative team.

We found them through a Google search, and we chose to work with them based on their previous work.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We had no metrics for this project. It was just about whether the new branding communicated the message and look that we wanted to get across — and it did. We also received very positive responses from people about our new branding.

How did Wildish & Co. perform from a project management standpoint?

They did a very good job of meeting deadlines and communicating clearly with us. We interact with them primarily via email and weekly video calls. They also used a project management tool to track deliverables.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’re really impressed with the end result. They really got to know our brand and came up with something original, which was hard to do. They were also easy to work with.

Give them very precise feedback as much as possible. For instance, explain to them why you like or don’t like something.
