The project covered migrating our operational database from Airtable to Postgres (Supabase). Widle designed the relational schema, migrated the data and file attachments, and set up incremental syncing between Airtable and Supabase so both systems stayed current during the transition. On top of the new database, they built a set of internal apps in Retool for our team. The engagement wrapped with written handoff documentation so our team can build on the work.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our full operational database was migrated from Airtable to Postgres, including around 1,300 file attachments, with incremental syncing keeping both systems current throughout the transition. All five project milestones were completed and approved. The internal apps built during the engagement are now in daily use by our team, and the project closed with complete handoff documentation, giving our team a clean foundation to build on.

The engagement was structured around clear milestones, and each one was delivered and approved before moving to the next. Communication was consistently strong: clear status updates, honest about timing when life came up, and always came to review calls prepared with a plan rather than open questions. When we brought feedback or new requirements, they were incorporated quickly and without friction. It was a smooth, well-run project from kickoff through handoff.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What stood out most was how well they understood the shape of our business, not just the technical ask. Our Airtable had years of operational logic baked into it, and they translated that into a clean relational schema without losing the nuance. The other thing worth noting is how they finished: documentation, syncing verified, a proper walkthrough. Plenty of contractors start well. Finishing well is rarer, and that's what stuck with us.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Widle could have done differently?

Very little, honestly. There was a stretch mid-project where communication slowed and we had to check in to get realigned, though scope had also shifted on our end around that time, so it wasn't all on them. Once we reconnected, things got back on track quickly and the transparency was appreciated. If I'm reaching: earlier proactive updates during quieter weeks would have helped. It didn't affect the final result.
