They are usually very responsive to questions and requests. For the most part, projects were delivered on time. We had some issues with project scope and additional work hours required for tasks that should have really been undertaken as part of the original remit. But a clearer understanding of our business and the way that certain changes to the site impact other areas of the site and need to be considered has meant the guys are great at understanding the requirement and then executing.

Spending some additional time to ensure the requirement is completely understood and also exploring how the work requested impacts other areas of the site that the client may not have considered. They're the experts, and we're always looking for their input to ensure that the system continues to run properly. Whether that is for our UAE operation or for any of our expansion markets. Having a clear expectation of the work, cost and time is essential for us as the client. Nothing worse than thinking the work is done and being told there is another 3 days of work because something wasn't considered at the outset.

They have the infrastructure and knowledge to meet this long process. This is a factor that greatly facilitates our process.

I think they're fast. They have a good balance of price and quality of work. We worked with the weboccult team for a long time and an environment of trust was created between us. Hearing this trust is a very good point, I think.

I think the communication flow could be better. Because it is not easy to organize this flow in a project where too many people are involved.

They created the contact landing page for the C-Level. They help us with some little tasks in Hubspot, like customization of our calendar landing page, solving some workflow issues, and some automation issues.

We have a client that wanted a whole website developed in HubSpot in 4 weeks. The main goal was not only to go live with the website as soon as possible but also to replicate a design that was handled by them, which is always very challenging to receive designs you are not familiar with.

We searched online for HubSpot web developers and shortlisted 4. After reviewing the reviews and after talking with them, we chose WebOccult on their past projects, skills, and quick response.

We had a quick kick-off meeting to review the design files and goals. we really don't have too much time for long meetings. From there, we continued our daily conversations via email and Telegram and the team delivered the pages as scheduled. We left the feedback instance for last week.

We had a shared spreadsheet where I detailed all the feedback with screenshots and they checked each item at its completion. They finally delivered a really great and good looking website very detailed and developed in a way that the client can easily update it.

We used Telegram, gmail and docs to coordinate all the tasks, and they worked very well with our team. If there were any issues, they let us know ahead of time so we can coordinate internally. They really have a lot of patience because there were days in which we have to check many things with them, and they always replied quickly and they always understand the urgency.

They provided us with a professional and high-quality website which is really almost 100% customizable.

During the second week, one of the developers have a personal issue so there was a very short delay in one of the pages, but they communicate it ahead and they recover this delay very quickly in the next week.

I looked at several vendors and from the customer service, the reviews, the good and fast communication, their portfolio. I decided to go with them.

I needed something specific and we brainstormed about it in meetings. I created a wireframe for them and they did follow it the best they could with what was asked.

I will say around 3 people and this is perfect.

Everything was responsive and easy for our team to implement in intern since the landing pages and website was very well builded.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very great. They answer within one hour and not even if we have any problem. It was very great working with them and they will make any changes I wanted without any problems. They take care to not involve too much people so you always talk to the same person. I really appreciated that!

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They had the best customer service. They were very fast and always willing to help even if the project is done and you have questions, they will help you with it. They even sent me homemade video on some request so I could become independent in changing some stuff on the website. Who does that ! I really appreciated that as well.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The only thing I will say is that sometime they leave mistakes in the wording iI provided. Since we are in education we can't have that on the Website so I had to review everything, but I think it is normal and for me this situation is very minor!

Our organization is a partnership between two people, and we’re a development company.

What challenge were you trying to address with WebOccult Technologies?

We’ve been developing and designing a communications app that’s based on audio messaging.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’re developing an app for iOS and Android where instead of having a long collection of texts, the app will enable users to send voice messages that will disappear within 20 seconds. The app is a bit like Snapchat, but for voice messaging. 

Our first point of call was through a Zoom meeting, where we discussed the features that we wanted to develop. Over time, we changed and added some things as the process went along.

They’re basically in charge of all the development aspects of the UI. they gave us some photos of how everything would look, then we modified a few things and gave our feedback back to them — they just went on from there, so we didn’t actually give any input to the direct UI.

Apart from the voice messaging feature, we also had WebOccult develop a voice changer to attract younger users. They also implemented something called Box Daily, which is an audio and video story feature like the one that Instagram has.

What is the team composition?

We have face-to-face contact with three people, and we use Trello to interact with the developers assigned to this project. I believe we’re working with about 15–20 from their team, including Ruchir (CEO & CTO), who was the first person we contacted to discuss the project, and Hardik (Project Manager).

How did you come to work with WebOccult Technologies?

We did a simple Google search, and found about three companies, including WebOccult, on Fiverr — WebOccult just seemed to fit what we wanted.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve probably spent around $45,000 USD.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in November 2020, and our partnership is still ongoing, as we’re just in the final review stage for the product.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

From a personal and communication level, they’re very responsive whenever we have any problems and concerns. When something isn’t clear regarding what we’re trying to do, they’ll organize a meeting and provide us with accurate timelines on when they can get back to us — we never feel like we’re chasing them to get feedback.

We often have a lot of modifications in the development stage, and we could see how quickly they’re getting our requirements done on Trello.

As of this writing, we currently have 10 reviews on our app and they all have five-star ratings. It’s a new app, so we’re looking for more efficient ways to market it to people.

How did WebOccult Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve had no problems with the communication aspect of the partnership. We use WhatsApp to regularly communicate, and they’re very rapid with their response time. That along with Zoom calls, we never feel like they’re going dark on the project because they’re always there for us, even on the weekends.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’re very impressed with their efficiency and transparency in communication. I’m not a tech person at all, but they’re very quick to talk in a way that I can easily understand. Tech people often talk in a different language, but they’re able to explain things to me clearly, which I find refreshing.

We’re really happy with the product, of course, but the communication in the whole process was what sold us on WebOccult.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We’ve only had one small issue initially, and it was about how they wanted to get payment from a certain system called Payoneer. We resolved it when we realized we can send our payments bank to bank, so it all worked out well in the end.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice would be to go into the partnership with a good plan of what you want, but be very confident that WebOccult has the experience to tell you whether it’s going to work well or not. They’re not just a company that does what you ask, they give good quality advice and they’ll provide you with inputs on how your product can be improved.

I’m a marketing manager for a Python software house. We hire more than 200 developers, who are mostly Python developers. We recently branched out into other technologies as well such as React, machine learning, and things like that. We also do consulting and product design. Our clients are mostly mid-market companies, but we also work with corporate clients.

What challenge were you trying to address with WebOccult Technologies?

We had a pretty outdated website and before we decided to hire WebOccult, we wanted the website within HubSpot because we had been using HubSpot CMS and CRM and wanted to stick to that technology. 

We’re mostly Python-based, and most of our developers, especially the frontend developers, were occupied with different projects. Even though we are a software house, we decided to outsource the building of our website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They handle the development of the website because we work on the project graphics and visuals on our side. We work in batches, so we prepared the first batch of design and passed the design onto WebOccult. They developed and coded in the staging environment. After that, we did the QA together. 

On our side, we had a little more to do because we had to prepare content and the content was passed onto the designers who did the design, and then we uploaded on Zeppelin. WebOccult Technologies had access to Zeppelin and that is where they were basing the development activities. They took care of the technical aspects, making it pretty much live on HubSpot, and we did everything else.

We’re still working on the website, making changes and tweaking things. We’ll be working on other batches, but most of the project has already been done.

How did you come to work with WebOccult Technologies?

We used Clutch to scan through different companies that specialize in HubSpot. We wanted to outsource to India because it is cheaper, and we wanted to try it. At the end of the day, there’s not much that can go wrong in building a website when you have all the designs that were made by us. We weren’t afraid of outsourcing there.

We had a few other companies as well that we had calls with. At the end of the day, WebOccult, both communication-wise, and price-wise, were okay so we decided to go with them.

How much have you invested in them?

So far, they’ve worked 300 hours for us, and we have spent around $6,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the project in late March 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The overall feedback was very positive. In general, they did everything pretty quickly and were responsive to work with. 

How did WebOccult Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve worked with one developer who works on the website full-time, and the other person acts as a product manager. He essentially coordinated the work on their side while I was the product manager on the client-side. The workflow was fairly simple. They took care of tweaks and changes very quickly, and they assisted us with the final launch of the MVP.

What did you find most impressive about them?

For me, the most impressive thing was that they were really quick to reply to my emails. There was never a situation when we couldn’t agree on a date to jump on a call. If I said I needed to hop on a call with them to explain something, they asked me to suggest a time that worked best. They were flexible and responsive and those were the main things that stood out in my opinion.

They were also very eager to do SEO optimization. They were knowledgeable in this area and they were willing to follow our ideas and try things we weren’t sure were possible. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only thing that wasn’t the best was the quality assurance. I had to jump in and do the QA myself even though they were supposed to handle it. 

They also could have followed the design guidelines better, but even if they didn’t, they could’ve caught it in the QA session but we have to do that ourselves. That was the only downside of working with them but they compensated for it with their speed and being really responsive. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You’ll get great quality for the money you pay. The rates are not that high and what you get in exchange is really good. Do the QA on your side. Take it in-house, and have one dedicated person to be in touch with them and check the outcome of the development process. I didn’t have to interfere with the development, but just checked if everything worked properly and if they were following the guidelines in terms of design.
