What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The portal is user-friendly for our old-demographic clients. Users have had to adapt to new revenue report generation processing, but we haven’t encountered any major issues. We’ve been able to update features and implement fixes quickly.

How did WebMob Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

WebMob Technologies accommodates the nearly 12-hour time difference. We can schedule Skype calls on relatively short notice. Turnaround times are appropriate for the complexity of each task.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team understood our perspective and leveraged that insight to meet every requirement.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Communication between teams has slowed as the final stage nears. This is a crucial time to communicate regularly.

For what projects/services did your company hire WebMob Technologies?

We hired WebMob Technologies to design and develop a React Native cross-platform mobile application and a website with a backend admin panel. We wanted an application that was interactive and not just informative.

What were your goals for this project?

Up until last year, we did business on the phone and didn’t have much of a digital presence. We wanted to reach more businesses and individuals who were interested in importing chemicals products. The platform needed to be accessible to users anywhere in the world.

How did you select this vendor?

Initially, I had meetings with the CEO of WebMob and a project manager. They suggested several ideas I hadn't even thought about. Their dedication and feedback before starting the project distinguished them from other vendors I was considering.

Describe the project in detail.

I provided WebMob Technologies with a document detailing how we wanted the application to work. They suggested we implement notifications to give users real-time updates and a graph view so they could look at price history. The app also allows users to search different chemical product categories, receive daily price updates, connect with our company for a quote, and view messages. The app is being developed for iOS and Android. The website they’re building will be used to promote the app.

What was the team composition?

I worked directly with a PM, who managed the team developing our mobile app. We had pre-scheduled, bi-weekly meetings with the project manager and developers face to face.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The mobile application has helped us digitize our business and given us an opportunity to reach more users. We still have a long road ahead, as we need to market the application to reach our target audience.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I was the primary point of contact on behalf of our company, and I interacted directly with their PM via email and phone. The PM was very efficient and responded to every request quickly.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

WebMob Technologies took care of the entire process, from design and development to deployment. We’re very satisfied with the end product and have decided to continue working with them for additional feature development and application maintenance.

No, there aren’t. They manage their processes and resources well.

Using Vue.js, we needed to build a progressive web app that connected to multiple APIs and cloud services. WebMob Technologies had already worked with most of the technologies before and were eager to learn more.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal was to build a cutting-edge progressive app that could be incorporated into our larger SaaS application. Having a progressive app would allow our technology to load like a webpage but have offline features such as push notifications.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

After researching Vue.js vendors, we interviewed WebMob Technologies. They were up to the task and had already worked with the more challenging APIs I needed to integrate. Unlike most offshore companies, they focused on the newest technology while implementing the structured methodology of a more mature company. The team clearly looked forward to the coding challenges. I knew that we would be charting new territory in some areas, but they were up for it.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

WebMob Technologies built a progressive web app with the newest technologies, including Vue.js components and Google Workbox. They configured the app to connect to user cameras, send push notifications, and store images locally and on a third-party service. They also incorporated Google Firebase, Microsoft Azure Functions, and other APIs to add redundancy and abstraction to the service. 

What was the team composition?

They assigned a frontend and backend coder on the project at different points, but I always had project management support.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We're still incorporating the app into our software, but WebMob Technologies completed the project and implemented every requested change. This service will significantly impact our ability to serve new and existing clients. We're confident that it will yield a high ROI.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

I talked directly with the coding team through Trello. I also had access to project management support on Skype when I needed it.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The most impressive facet was how WebMob Technologies tackled new technology. Progressive web apps are relatively new, so their support is in its infancy. The dependencies and stack needed to change with new tech releases (e.g., iOS updates, Vue.js components, Google Workbox).

I pressed the team to use beta versions because the full release would be out before our project was complete. The team handled unchartered territory without frustration and they surpassed our expectations.

Are there any areas where they can improve?

I wish we'd used Trello in a more structured fashion. Compared to other projects I've done, I couldn't see everything at a glance. However, this was a small project, so that didn't hurt our progress.

My business partner and I came up with an idea for a new social media platform, but we needed a development firm to help us build the app from scratch.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

WebMob Technologies guided us through the process of app development. They attended early brainstorming meetings to hear pitches and refine our options. They collaborated with us to create a detailed scope of work that informed the rest of the engagement. Their efforts included designing the app’s wireframes, color scheme, logo, and general interface. They also developed the complex functionalities that make our app unique.

Ultimately, they implemented everything we discussed and built the platform for iOS and Android. The final product is a social network for local communities. The app enables users to post activates or hobbies they enjoy and ask other members of the community to join them. The goal to create close-knit communities based on shared interests. That app has launched and we’re currently talking with WebMob Technologies to figure out a marketing strategy. We’ve also retained their services so they can provide ongoing system maintenance and support.

We work directly with their owner and a project manager. I’m not sure of the total number of people on their team.

They were referred to us by a colleague who had worked with them in the past. We decided to give them a shot and have been happy with the results.

The primary development work took place between April 2015 and July 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We haven’t widely promoted the app, so our feedback on it is somewhat limited. However, users have stated that they appreciate the platform’s appealing and straightforward UI/UX.

How did WebMob Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Considering we’re in the United States and they’re working from India, I expected to struggle with the time zone difference when communicating with them. Luckily, that hasn’t been my experience. We interact via Skype and email. They’re always responsive and are willing to stand by their work. Their team is trustworthy and dependable. Overall, I have no issues with them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re friendly, fair, and we enjoy working with them. The quality that WebMob Technologies delivers is on par with what you find in the United States. However, they also offer competitive pricing. It’s been a positive experience thus far.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Sometimes it’s challenging to communicate complicated ideas over the phone, but that’s likely the case when conducting any project without face-to-face meetings.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goals were to improve the user experience and overhaul the website’s theme, which had quite a few minor issues. We also wanted to lay the groundwork for on-page SEO optimization.

How did you select this vendor?

We were introduced to WebMob Technologies through a close associate who had worked with them before. We started out with a number of basic tasks to familiarize ourselves with their work routine.

The project focused on customization, including creating a child theme. The existing WordPress theme and flawed post types were also overhauled.

What was the team composition?

The team composition was great. We communicated directly with Pramesh (Founder and CEO, WebMob Technologies) about our goals and expectations, and specific requests were submitted straight to the developers.

What outcomes or results can you share that demonstrate progress and/or success?

WebMob Technologies resolved all of our frontend issues and their adjustments to our website structure have improved on-page SEO by 21%.

How effective was the project management?

The project management was good. Although we could have arranged Skype meetings as needed, we preferred the highly effective email communication. We were fully satisfied with the overall experience.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their communication and ability to understand our expectations were excellent despite operating offshore.

What tips or recommendations do you have?

Although they can slightly improve the quality of deployments, all of our requests for changes were completed without objection and in a very timely manner.

I’m the founder of a strategic planning and performance platform that’s focused on the core essentials for driving progress in education. The platform was designed by and for educators to streamline planning, management, and performance monitoring.

What challenge were you trying to address with WebMob Technologies?

We wanted to make the planning and performance process technology based. The platform needed to allow for more efficiency, increase communication, and permit evidence and data to be vetted within a plan for project management. We also needed this platform to be intuitive for the end user.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They built the entire application, which houses multiple databases, and includes features like login, filtering, reporting, and data entry. The application allows users to prioritize evidence-based strategies, provides annual outcome metrics, monitors progress, and effectively track goals.

I’d already created a conceptual model in Excel of what I wanted, and what I thought was the most impactful. They took my model, created a wireframe, and after a series of conversations, made refinements to build the final product.

They did a good job of translating what I originally wanted into the end product. There were things that weren’t clear in the initial scope, but needed to be adjusted based on usage once we input the data.

What is the team dynamic?

I initially worked with Pramesh [CEO & Founder, WebMob], then the project manager became my primary contact. There were 2–3 developers working on the project depending on what stage we were at.

How did you come to work with WebMob?

My brother-in-law recommended them to me. Working with someone I would be comfortable with was more important than saving money, so I had some people check their coding and previous work. I didn’t consider any other development companies.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $10,000–$50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project began in June 2017, and was completed in August 2017. They now provide ongoing server maintenance.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We launched a month ago, but there are already some people using it, and it works well. We haven’t experienced any downtime or lapses in functionality because WebMob has been able to fix any bugs within 24 hours of being notified. More things will arise as people begin to use the app, but so far, WebMob has been really responsive.

How did WebMob perform from a project management standpoint?

They remained accessible and communicative to me throughout the project. The project manager and myself were both new, so the project ended up being completed a month later than expected. I also added more to the scope, which probably added 2 weeks. I was generally pleased, and they were really flexible. The project management could have been better, but in the end, being able to learn the design together allowed for us to have a better end product.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I really appreciated their flexibility, responsiveness, and willingness to take the time to talk through things with me. They provided constructive suggestions and used critical thinking to find the best solution.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They weren’t very specific at times, and because I was unfamiliar with this kind of work, I wasn’t aware that I needed to ask for clarification. I didn’t realize how many decisions needed to be made as things evolved, which caused them to have to interpret design elements. Communication was a challenge sometimes, but for the most part, we worked it out.

Although I only worked with one person from their team, they could benefit from providing more clarity regarding some of the functionality. It’s hard to know what the end product will look like, and how it’s coded, without any real data. It would be beneficial for them to include some iterative testing as part of the initial scope.

I am the CEO / Co-Founder of a start-up technology company that builds simple, easy to use social networking products. Our premiere app, is a multimedia digital business card for professionals and teams, with in-app support for video, audio, and graphics. The app also has dedicated lead nurturing and contact management tools to help people conveniently follow up with prospective leads and build better customer relationships.

What challenge were you trying to address with WebMob Technologies?

We wanted to provide people an easy way to conveniently store all their contact information and social networks in one place, plus the ability to share targeted content with the right people at the right time. People and companies in general, are looking for eco-friendly alternatives to paper and digital has become the primary way people communicate and connect with others. We saw a huge opportunity in providing a better way for one-on-one connections to be memorable.

Research shows by the year 2021, 82% of all consumer traffic IP will be through video. Additionally, leads nurtured with targeted content increase sales opportunities by 20%, which is the driving force for this project. Our mobile solution integrates the power of video and provides professionals and teams, all the contextual amenities of a traditional business card. Our primary user base consists of small business owners, professionals, startups, entrepreneurs, and sales & marketing teams. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We were introduced to WebMob Technologies through a 3rd party. They listened to our vision and from there became a part of our team. The full scope of work carried out by WebMob Technologies consisted of wireframing, design, development (API), synchronization between web and mobile APIs, 3rd party integrations (Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, iCloud) and research.

Please describe the scope of their involvement in greater detail.

We started from the very beginning with wireframes and the entire process was very seamless. We did have some revisions and some various iterations to the initial design, but overall, the process was very seamless. After the wireframe, we moved into the development of the APIs and the app overall. We’ve been working with them a little bit over a year and a half. It’s been great. We fully developed the iOS version of the app. We still have some additional features that we’ll be rolling out throughout the course of 2017. We’ve also begun development on the Android version. Right now, we’re in phase two with the Android version. We already have a wire frame that’s done. The APIs have been developed and we have a first stage version of the Android.

We do have some features that we’ll be coming out with soon. We’ll have some insight tools that will allow the user to have a real time overview of every interaction that a person has with their digital card. That will help that user properly follow-up with them be it through social media, or a follow-up email or even a conference call. We’re looking forward to that. We have a team collaboration feature that’s going to be very intuitive. CRM integration is coming out. Social media uplinking, and also a social media feature where you will be able to share your digital business card with an individual through social media. For instance, if I met you and I wanted to share my digital card with you via LinkedIn. We’d have that feature via Facebook or Twitter. All of that is in the works. It’s an exciting time in our company right now. We’re just grateful that we found WebMob Tech. The relationship has been great. They have some of the best Developers that I’ve ever seen. The code is clean. The app is not buggy. It does as it advertises. I’m a happy customer.

How did you come to work with WebMob Technologies?

Prior to working with WebMob, I was not working with any other vendors. When I found WebMob Tech, we were basically interviewing various mobile development companies and we felt good about them and decided to go with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

iOS development began in December of 2015 and has been ongoing. We are currently developing the Android version, which is scheduled to be released in October of 2017.

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

The app has been very successful. We officially launched the product on November 18, 2016. On May 13th we launched the digital card aspect and re-evaluated our value proposition in March and basically just converted the app to be a dedicated digital business card with great network and the lead nurturing tools. So ever since May 13th, our downloads have been through the roof. The feedback has been very positive from our users both on social media reaching out to us and also in the Apple store leaving reviews. The app is not buggy. It works as advertised. Being that we’re an early stage startup, that’s really essential to the overall growth of the app. That’s been a plus for us. From November 18th all the way up until today, the app has only had like five crashes and that may have just been random. It’s a solid app. Our users are loving it, and it’s showing by steady growth. It is the first ever multimedia digital business card with in-app support for video, audio, and graphics. This could not have been accomplished without a team dedicated and fully vested in the process because it was not easy but that's what you get from WebMob Technologies. A team of professionals fully vested in the process and the success of the project. 

How did WebMob Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Besides the Project Manager, I would say we had probably four developers, to my knowledge. I’ve never had direct access to individual Developers, but the Head of the company, Pramesh [Founder, WebMob Technologies], I’ve had discussions with. I spoke with Darshini [Project Coordinator, WebMob Technologies] a couple of times a week. It just depends on where we’re at. My skill set, I am a Senior Level Graphic Designer. In that aspect, I understand how clients can kind of nag you at times and when a developer or a designer or artist are in that zone, it’s kind of best to just let them be. So I only reach out to Darshini [Project Coordinator, WebMob Technologies] when we are approaching a milestone or if I have a question or if I have an idea that I want to bounce off her to see, firstly, if it can be properly implemented and, secondly, what a workable solution might be.

What did you find most impressive about WebMob Technologies?

What makes WebMob Technologies a great company to work with is their team. Darshini is our project manager and she is amazing. She's very knowledgeable of tech, code, web, and best-practices. Request and suggestions are always delivered to the developers in the context in which we spoke. The developers are highly skilled and can do just about anything you can think of and I'm not exaggerating. We bring a lot of ideas to the team. We discuss them and take into account all the variables. We create a plan and their team executes that plan. Our results speak for themselves, which is evident in our user downloads, user retention, and user comments.

What has stood out to me the most, with working with WebMob Technologies, is the skill level of their developers. Our app is not and has never suffered from code errors or crashes. The application is solid and does what it is advertised to do. Being a startup and introducing new technology, you don't have second chances. A buggy app can be detrimental to your company's growth and public perception, so you really have to get it right the first time, and partner with a company, if you don't have your own development team, that is reputable, knows their stuff, and can deliver a rock solid product.

Is there anything WebMob Technologies could have improved or done differently?

Their professionalism and craftsmanship skill set, I’d give a 10. With all of us being professionals, there’s always something we can improve on. I don’t have anything negative to say about WebMob Tech. The only thing that we’ve experienced really early on was basically we came out with a feature and invested a lot of money into it, but the research wasn’t properly done. I thought it was going to be pretty seamless, but we ended up having to set up an account with Microsoft and had to set up an account with Azure, which incurred additional costs and time. That wasn’t detailed when we originally spoke about the feature. That just had to do with properly doing all of the research based on the idea, the implementation, and execution of the app, and doing the proper research to make sure that if there are additional steps, let that be known in the full scope in the initial meeting. So that way, us as business owners can make the decision if we want to move forward with it or if we’ll just table it for another day. We experienced that, addressed it, had a meeting, it was discussed, a solution was put in place, and to this day we haven’t had the issue.

Do you have any recommendations for others considering working with WebMob Technologies?

The only thing I would suggest for anyone is that when you’re building an app, we all have great ideas in how we want the app to work, but you have to be very detail oriented when you’re dealing with developers because they develop what your vision is and if you haven’t fully thought it all the way out, then once you get into the building stage, there may be two additional steps, where those two additional steps will incur a cost. It’s always great to think your idea all the way out, put it on paper, have an initial meeting, and go through that vision and those features line by line. Ask them. Get their insight. That way once the meeting is over, you have a full scope; they have a full scope of their deliverables, and the pricing will reflect that.

What challenge were you trying to address with WebMob Technologies?

WebMob Technologies helped us develop a web-based survey application for market research, enhancing our capabilities to identify trends and market information in the most efficient manner. The tool allows us to create structured, programmed surveys for real-time data collection and analysis.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We sent WebMob the entire code for our web app from our previous experience with a developer, which they completely revamped. They also suggested improvements to and new features. It was developed in PHP.

How did you come to work with WebMob Technologies?

We’d worked with another company before WebMob on a similar application. We weren’t very satisfied with the results, so we reached out to WebMob after some online research. I wanted to work with a small company that could execute and participate in the actual thinking behind the application by asking questions and providing improvement suggestions. I don’t have any experience in development, so I needed guidance.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or impact of the engagement?

WebMob created a working application that’s operating in the real world. Throughout the process, they were flexible and there for us when we needed to fix a bug or experienced a crash. They worked with us to identify areas for improvement and found workarounds to optimize the app.

How did WebMob Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

I initially worked with the founder of the company, Pramesh, who served as our main point of contact for a time. After a few months, I started working directly with the developer in charge of the application.

The communication was seamless, despite the fact that WebMob worked from India. They were flexible enough to work over the weekend and provide consistent availability. Most of the communication was done via Skype. We had calls about 3–4 times a week.

We maintained a Google Doc in order to etch out the framework of the application and make updates. When there was something for me to see, I received a notification on Google Docs. Apart from this, we worked mainly via email.

What did you find most impressive about WebMob Technologies?

WebMob Technologies was truly a collaborative partner throughout the process. They not only delivered a high-quality product on time but also suggested ways to improve the application throughout the process.

Are there any areas WebMob Technologies could improve?

They’re a small company and have shown some growing pains. In terms of organization, especially around cost, they could improve a lot. Rather than just sending emails, having a tool in place as a repository for all invoices and receipts would be ideal. I know that, in the last 6 months, WebMob has implemented a new invoicing system, but the process was rudimentary at first, which led to confusion about our spent hours and costs.

I initially talked to their founder exclusively, and I got a sense that he was overburdened. I didn’t get the attention I desired, and this made it harder for the team to pay attention to our needs. In January, he became busier, and we didn’t have an opportunity to speak. As a company, WebMob should be delegating more of the work to managers. Things became much smoother when I started talking to the developers directly, rather than using Pramesh as an intermediary.

The Give Back Campaign is a point-of-sale giving and collection program. We work with charities keen to attract donations from business, and we process them upon request from consumers. I am the Chief Executive Officer and founder.

We were looking for offshore developers who could develop apps and websites for us more affordably than Australian developers. We were also looking for a partner with whom we could establish a long term relationship and who wanted to grow with us.

WebMob has developed multiple sites and apps for us, such as gift/loyalty card processing and donation processing. In addition, they have developed full-blown e-commerce sites and blogs.

We found WebMob on Upwork (formerly oDesk) and compared their work to 5 other developers at the time.
